The global market for smart wearable devices, including medical devices, enterprise wearables and consumer wea- rables, is growing fast and is expected to hit a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of around 20% for the coming three to five years. In 2015 KRAIBURG Rubber (Suzhou) Co. Ltd. (KRS) entered into a partnership to develop and produce high-end FKM compounds for wearable applications. With stable quality and growing expertise, KRAIBURG has been successfully developing compounds for various premium brands over the years. Following the success of the past years, KRAIBURG Rubber (Suzhou) will now intro- duce its own brand of wearable compounds: KRAIWEAR™ KRAIWEAR™, the elastomer solutions of KRAIBURG Rubber (Suzhou) can be found in: Watch bands Smart wearable device wristbands Health and fitness trackers KRS' material solutions are augmenting the market with properties targeted to suit wearables devices. The demand for smart wearable technologies is supported by rising urbanization, increasing healthcare awareness and changing consumer preferences that are leaning towards digitalization, mobility, conve- nience and personalization. With today’s wearable designs that double up as accessories and gadgets, features like soft touch, scratch resistance, resistance to oils and chemicals, UV resistance and skin-safe contact are becoming standards to achieving consumer satisfaction. Color stability – currently we offer our customers over 300 colors within very tight tolerances – rounds off the required characteristics of the material. Today, with growing environmental awareness, consumers consider sustainable materials and minimal end-of-life waste to be important considerations when buying wear- able products. These are also some of the advantages of KRAIWEAR™. KRAIWEAR™, KRAIBURG Rubber (Suzhou)’s compounds, are recyclable and approved and certified according to ISO 10993 (Cytotoxicity and Skin Irritation Test). Also we use FKM (Fluor elastomers) for KRAI- WEAR™. FKM are synthetic rubbers that have become the proven choice for premium wearable products because of their unique properties. As a material with very high density it offers superior look and feel characteristics in comparison with other materials. These are typical characteristics of FKM: Chemical and stain resistance to sweat, skin oils, food and beverage Durability and abrasion resistance Color stability Odor resistance Ozone resistance to cracking Color stability – wide range of colors available In summary KRAIWEAR™ convinces with the following facts: 1. No extra coating needed for smoother wearing experience, more luxury looking and less scratches. 2. Great cost saving with possibility by blending KRAIBURG EF-FKM (produced out of sorted production waste and under special conditions recycled) with a ratio of up to 50% depending on customer requirement. 3.
