A Voyage to ‘Tawang’Tawang is a hill station, situated at an elevation of around 3048m above sea level, in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Bordered by Tibet, Bhutan and Sela Range in the north, south-west and east, respectively. It's snow capped peaks, pleasant lakes, congenial climate, friendly and hospitable people continue to entice the people who visit it. This magical land evokes images of awesome mountain views, remote hamlets, quaint and sleepy villages, magical Gompas and tranquil lakes.TheThe word Tawang is made up of two words - 'Ta' meaning horse and 'Wang' meaning chosen. The town got its name from the Tawang Monastery, the site of which was chosen by the horse of Merag Lama Lodre Gyamtso- the monk who was searching for a place to establish a centre for meditation and spirituality. According to history, it was a part of Tibet and was inhabited by the Monpa tribe. It is a region that strongly promotes Buddhism, which is reflected in its culture and traditions, a religion that stands for peace and spirituality. TheThe prime photographic attractions of Tawang include gushing waterfalls, alpine meadows, towering snow capped mountains, high altitude lakes and passes together with some ancient Gompas and Monasteries. One has a heavenly tryst with nature and there is a heady mixture of ancient history, mishmash religion and glorious legends.

Focus on Making Great Images

ThoughThough we have a set itinerary, unlike other photography tours, we don't always stick to it. Our focus is on making quality images. The goal is to ensure that participants get the best photographs possible.
