SUNDAY ADULT LEARNING HOUR SUNDAY ADULT LEARNING HOUR -- An Introduc-An Introduc-
tion to Spiritual Warfare tion to Spiritual Warfare -- CAFÉ CAFÉ -- 10:30 AM10:30 AM August 6: Defeating the Destroyer (Mark 5:1-20)
In this session we are introduced to a scene that is both terrible and tragic. Jesus confronts a demon-possessed man whose life has become a living nightmare. In this passage we discover Christ’s power to defeat the destroyer.
August 13: Overcoming Our Accuser (Revelation 12:7-12) Throughout our life as Christians, Satan has pursued us with demonic determination. He is
obsessed with the goal of destroying our walk with God and sending back to spiritual prison. In this session, we discover how we can overcome the slander and accusations of the devil.
August 20: Standing Firm (2 Thessalonians 2:1-17) For centuries people have speculated about the identity of the antichrist. In error, most Chris-
tians are inclined to imagine that someone from their own generation is the antichrist. In this session, Paul describes a time of demonic deception that is unparalleled in history. Although he doesn’t reveal the identity of the Antichrist, Paul does tell us how we can stand firm against Satan’s schemes.
August 6 — "On Thee the High and Lowly" (Exodus 20:10) — Dr. Dale A. Meyer It’s “Archives August” and we present a classic message from former speaker, Dr. Dale Meyer.
August 13 — "Looking for a Good Speaker" (Matthew 6:9) — Dr. Dale A. Meyer “Archives August”-What do the words “our Father” teach us about our relationship with God and with each other?
August 20 — "God’s Dog" (Matthew 15:21-28) — Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus Was Jesus being politically incorrect--or worse--when He compared a Canaanite woman to a canine?
August 27 — "Absolutely Nothing" (1 Corinthians 15:14-19) — Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus Pastor Ken Klaus explains how something that is “absolutely nothing” can be a very good thing.

WESTSIDE FOOD PANTRY WESTSIDE FOOD PANTRY -- ST. JOHN’S LUTHERST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN AN
CHURCHCHURCH
Donations are lower in the summertime. More fami-lies come to the Westside Food Pantry at 7205 N 51st
Ave, Glendale, during the summer months since many area children are on school break and no longer
receive school meals. Let’s continue to support our neighborhood Food Pantry by bringing non-
perishable food items (including water and diapers) to church on Sundays and placing them on the white
cart in the East lobby. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.
