Kenyafindit, I Know a Guy – The App

• The idea for 'I Know a Guy' was conceived during an earnest search for finding and ultimately purchasing a motor cycle to beat the horrendous traffic conditions.

The Search

• I searched online for places where I could purchase a motor cycle and couldn’t really find a place.

Houston, we have a problem

• It was a bit frustrating because I could see many people riding motor cycles.

Knowledge Management

• I mentioned my frustration to my sister

• She was studying a course called Knowledge Management

• How about if you ask your friends if they know where you can buy a motor cycles

Testing the theory

• I asked a friend of mine if he knew where I could find a motor cycle to purchase

• He mentioned a few places.

• I went and checked them out.

• I finally bought the motor cycle.

The Eureka Moment

• I realized that people have information in their heads and all you have to do is ask them.

• The same goes for personal contacts that people have on their phones.

The idea is born

• So I thought, wouldn’t it be cool if I could develop an app that enable people to share contact information?

• Wouldn’t this be looking at the idea of knowledge management from interesting perspective?

Why would this work?

• A lot of business happens because of personal referrals.

• People keep contacts of service providers who offer great service.

• The contacts you get from your friends or family have already been vetted.

• Growing business a job at a time because of good referrals.

• More work means you need to hire people.

• Hiring more people means you are creating job opportunities.

• More jobs means living standards are elevated.
