Dear Ms. Viventi,
I have had the good fortune of attending your prestigious university over the past two years. My goal is to continue my education through the Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology program at Argosy University. I believe that my work ethic and dedication in this field would make me the best suited individual for the opening in your program.
As an undergraduate, I had the opportunity to mentor troubled youth through an outreach program in Tampa, Florida. My psychological and criminal justice background allowed for a comprehensive examination of the conceptual framework used in implementing the counties youth-at-risk and intervention programs. With this knowledge, I became aware of situations that could arise during my interaction with the youth. Through active listening and encouragement, I have been able to develop trust and build a good working relationship with those that I have come in contact with. My years of working with disadvantaged and troubled youth, in addition to achieving a 3.98 grade point average, have prepared me for the next step of my journey in the mental health field.
With the qualified instructors and knowledgeable staff, I am confident that I will be prepared to acquire my licensure in mental health counseling once I obtain my master’s degree. In attending Argosy University, I have found that the network of educators, staff and fellow students will benefit my career long after my degree has been earned.
In closing, I would like to reiterate my desire to continue my education with Argosy University. I am available anytime of the day, Monday through Saturday. I can be reached by telephone at (813) 746-2861 or by email at [email protected]. In addition, background information will be provided upon request. I thank you Ms. Viventi, for your time and consideration on this matter.
Sincerely,
Theresa S. Wood
