WHEN PG&E TURNED THE ELECTRICITY OFF...SPC PLUGGED INTO A HIGHER POWER

A huge turnout of our AWESOME CHOIR and a good gathering of the rest of us -- mixed in with a senseof mystery and a healthy dose of can-do-ism -- made for lively worship in the middle of a plannedpower outage. No organ and no microphones, but delicious fellowship for both the tummy and thesoul!

We were grateful that most folks in Southern Marin were inconvenienced more than endangered, andappreciave of the folks who traveled from San Francisco and points north so that we could gather

together as we are wont to do. We raised prayers for those we know who were indeed in harm's wayand had to evacuate their homes.

For those of us plunged into the 19th-century, it was a relavely peaceful reminder that much of whatwe take for granted every day is rather fragile. How much our daily lives change when there are noscreens and no lights. How quiet it is when the only sounds at night are those of the night creatureswho are usually drowned out by the news or a movie on Nelix. What a profound realizaon toremember that all our modern accessories can disappear in a moment, but our relaonships can neverbe taken from us.

Judy BarberDecember 31, 1946 - October 6, 2019

Judy Barber passed away peacefully on October6th, comforted as she had been for years by herloving and devoted husband, Steve Fabes, andher daughter, Kathryn Grace Mullins.

Though neighbors who could walk to church on aSunday, Judy's declining health had madeaending difficult, and then impossible.

Judy was known equally for her incrediblewarmth and her sharp mind. She was immersedin, and beloved by, many communies, includingthe Sausalito Woman's Club, the American BarAssociaon, the Sausalito Historical Society, and Christ Episcopal Church just up the hill. Her bright smile and gentle kindness were immediately evident upon meeng her and areremembered by all those who knew her.

The Marin IJ reads, Sausalito is missing a beauful smile. Our dear wife, mother, friend, sister, and colleague Judy Barber passed away aer a five-year journey with Alzheimer's disease. Judypassed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on October 6, 2019. Her family wasfortunate to be with her, and her last moments characterized the word 'grace,' her middlename.

Judy's parents married and seled in Seale, WA in 1937. Her mother Nancy Grace Taylor wasa gied pianist and published poet. Her father James Stewart Barber (Jim) began a successfulreal estate development business that he connued aer moving the family to the SanFrancisco Bay Peninsula in 1948. Judy aended school in Santa Clara and Marin Counes, graduang from Redwood High School in 1964.

Those who knew Judy's strong independence were not surprised when just six weeks aeropen heart surgery at Stanford Medical Center she enrolled in Colorado Women's College inDenver, CO, where she earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts.

Judy gained her teaching credenals at UC Berkeley and taught senior students at OlympicConnuaon High School in Walnut Creek. Next came a Master's degree from USF LoneMountain in San Francisco, beginning many years of service as a licensed Marriage & FamilyTherapist.

In 1977, Judy established JGB Associates (later becoming Family Money Consultants, LLC), atruly pioneering enterprise to address succession and personal conflicts inside familybusinesses. Judy had high-profile clients throughout the US, quickly earning trust and helpingthem resolve complex family dynamics.

As Judy's knowledge, skills, and reputaon grew, she was published in the London FinancialTimes, featured on Bloomberg Radio, and produced her own quarterly newsleer. Judy spokeat many legal and business conferences across the US and Europe, and served on the board ofthe San Francisco JAMS.

Outside of work, Judy was a dedicated mother and volunteer. She served as the Director of theNapa Valley Opera House, and was happiest when helping out in the kitchen at the Sausalito

Woman's Club and Christ Episcopal Church. Judy charmed all who knew her with her smile, herpearls, and her bunny-hop moves on the dance floor.

Judy will be forever loved and treasured by her family, and is survived by her daughter KathrynGrace Mullins, her husband Steve Fabes, her brothers Jim and Stephen Barber, and a widenetwork of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Her brother, Kent S. Barberpredeceased her in May 2019, also from Alzheimer's.

The family will gather for a private Commial in the Columbarium at Sausalito's ChristEpiscopal Church. A public service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Sausalito at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 2nd, with a recepon and celebraon of life to follow across thestreet in Campbell Hall at 12:00 PM.
