Georgia Ports Authority: The Southeast’s ‘Must-Call’ PortThe Port of Savannah is home to the largest single-ter-
minal container facility of its kind in North America and
comprised of two modern, deepwater terminals: Garden City
Terminal and Ocean Terminal. Together, these facilities
exemplify the GPA’s exacting standards of efficiency and
productivity. Garden City Terminal is the fourth busiest
container handling facility in the United States,
encompassing more than 1,200 acres and moving millions
of tons of containerized cargo annually.

• Two, Class 1 Railroads (Norfolk Southern and CSX) within the GPA Garden City Terminal
Rail On a Super-Sized ScaleIn 2018, the Georgia Ports will begin construction on a

Chicago and the Ohio Valley, ultimately enabling the GPA
to shift more cargo from trucks to trains, and double rail
lift capacity to 1 million containers each year at Garden City
Terminal. The GPA Mega Rail facility will be serviced by
Norfolk Southern and CSX Transportation.
