Bomb!• You will make a very small circle around the

teacher in the middle of the room.

• The teacher will call someone’s name and throw the ball up in the air.

• That child must run into the middle and catch the ball.

• If you do not catch the ball, the bomb will explode and you are out.

• At the same time, the rest of the class must run as far away as possible until the teacher shouts “Stop!”. The teacher will shout this once you have caught the ball.

• You then have two steps to get as near to someone as possible. Once you have taken two steps, try to hit someone with the ball.

• If you hit someone, they are out and will sit at the side. If the ball misses, you are still in. The person you are aiming for cannot move or dodge the ball, as this would make the game impossible!

• The class will then reset and make a circle around the teacher to let someone else have a turn.

Dodge Ball• Your teacher will split your class into 2 teams. Each

team will have one side of the playing area. You must stay in your own half for the whole game.

• If you manage to catch a ball which is thrown at you, you can select a member of your team who is out to rejoin your team.

• Continue playing until one team is completely out.

Cookie Monster!• The playing area will be split in half.

• There will be 4 hula hoops lined up in each half of the playing area – so there are 8 altogether. In each hula hoop will be one person. These people will be the cookie monsters.

• There will be soft balls lying around both sides of the playing area. The rest of the class will be split into two teams, one for each side. Stay on your side: you cannot cross the middle line.

• You will try to throw the balls (cookies) to your cookie monsters who are on the opposite side of the playing area.

• If the cookie monster does not catch it, then the ball remains on the other side for the other team to use. If the cookie monster does catch it, they place it inside their hula hoop.

• When there are no more balls left, the game is finished. The team with the most cookies at the end wins.

Netball• Your teacher will split your class into teams of 5.

There will be netball hoops or hula hoops as goals.

• The aim of the game is to score by either: throwing the ball through your net, by bouncing it into the hula hoop or by a player catching the ball when both of their feet are in the hula hoop. Each goal is worth 1 point.

• You cannot move with the ball. To be able to move the ball, you must pass it using a variety of passes.

• To defend, you must stay 3 feet (1 metre) away from the person with the ball. You can hold your hands up to try and catch the ball.

• When you catch the ball, you only have 5 seconds to throw it. Your teacher may decide to make this time longer or shorter.

• You might play as part of a tournament and receive points, 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. This will allow a team to be the overall winner.

• OR you can simply play for FUN!
