And celebrate we did on Tuesday, July 29. With over 75 people in attendance, we “climbed” into the treehouse, the first of its kind in Washing- ton state. Treehouses are places for building relationships, remov- ing obstacles, and bringing people of all abilities together, closer to nature and each other. A treehouse with a gently slop- ing entry ramp is a way to pro- vide a truly universally accessi- ble experience for everyone. This treehouse allows all chil- dren, even those confined to wheelchairs, to experience the thrill of “climbing” into a tree; of being up with the birds, feel- ing the trees sway, and seeing the world from a new vantage point. The accessible tree house will truly enrich the camping experience of our families as they relax, connect with nature, and enjoy a much- needed break from the complex stresses related to caring for a child with a serious illness or disabil- ity. Camp Prime Time works to promote the emotional well being of each family member by providing the opportunity to experience rec- reational activities free of embarrassment, guilt, harassment, or fi- nancial limitation. There are few places that can rival the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. A facility nestled deep in the heart of the Northwest’s Cascade Mountains near Clear Lake is a natural and re- laxing place to enjoy the pleasure of the great outdoors. Camp Prime Time relies on the generous donations of caring indi- viduals, businesses, and organizations across the state to keep the camp for special-needs children and their families open and free of charge. Without generous donations and fund-raising, Camp Prime Time could not survive.
