7The lights fade up slowl and we see the inside of a saloon. The saloon is not
polished and as fanc as some of the saloons in the larger cities and settlements
in the west. This saloon is in a small mining settlement on the edge of Indian
countr at the foot of the mountains. The saloon is dust and in ill repair. A set
of creak swinging gates with slats missing adorns the front door of the saloon.
The saloon is empt other than an old fat bartender who is leaning on the bar top
reading a newspaper. A show girl is sitting at the bar. Bass Reeves% a tall% wide
chest man enters the saloon with a saddle bag slung over his shoulder. The tall
man% is light skinned and has a handle bar mustache. The man is clearl tired
and walks with a shuffle. The man bandies up to the bar38
