Announcements (continued)    Your help is needed in the church office! If you have an hour or two you could spare some time during the week, your help would be greatly appreciated around the church office, especially if you have computer skills. Please let Curtis know when you can help.         The church has a new and improved website and a new domain name! You can find it now at www.asburymethodist.org. It is still a work in progress, so be sure to check back frequently. And, the new website will only cost us about half what our old website cost! If you have any suggestions, comments, submissions, etc. please give them to Rev. Goforth and he will try to improve the website further. Here are some of the new and improved features:

-An interactive church calendar that you can subscribe to and it can be sent directly to your smart phone or computer--and it is refreshed hourly! -Multiple audio tracks (in .mp3 format) of our worship services instead of just the service from the previous week. -Monthly Newsletter and Weekly Bulletin downloads (in .pdf format). -Individual pages for Sunday School Classes, Committees, and other Small Groups in the church (forthcoming ).

There will be a Soup and Salad Luncheon sponsored by the Methodist Women after worship on Sunday, October 28th. Please fill out the orange reservation card in the pew and place it in the offering plate so we can plan for the proper amount of food.

From the beginning, God entered into covenant with the human family: with and Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham and Sarah, Moses, Deborah, Ruth, and Jeremiah.

Through baptism, Jesus Christ calls us into the covenant and makes us ministers of Christ’s righteousness.

All Christian ministry is Christ’s work of outreaching love. It

demonstrates a common life of gratitude and devotion, witness and service, celebration and discipleship.

All Christians are called to Christ’s servanthood in the world, to the glory of God and for human fulfillment.

The Church, as the community of the new covenant,

participates in Christ’s ministry of grace. It stretches out to human needs wherever service may

convey God’s love and ours. In our ministry of servanthood is this ultimate concern: that all may be renewed in the image of their Creator;

and that all Christians are called to minister in deeds and words that heal and free. Amen.

In an effort to expand the children's ministry of Godly Play (the Sunday School Curriculum for 3 year olds through 5th grade) the Godly Play Classroom has moved to the third floor. Currently Sunday School for 3 year olds through seniors in high school all takes place in 3 different classrooms on the 3rd floor. -The Rev. Sallyanne McVay A huge thanks from the NOW Committee to everyone who helped make our Homecoming such a success! A special thanks to Cindy Page for the delicious ham, drinks and beautifully set tables. Also, we appreciate so many of you staying after the meal to help with clean up. Elaine Poovey, Rick Morehead, Sue Lane Muesing, the Tucker family, Doug Tallent, Mark Smith, Leroy Gaddy and many others helped the NOW Committee members wash dishes and put away tables and chairs.
