Phone rings

3 EXT - ALLEY - AFTERNOON 3

ESTABLISHING SHOTS OF THE CITY AND THEN THE ALLEY

FRITZ (V.O)This city stinks of the filth of

dishonesty and corruption. At itscore are the alleys. Narrow anddark, that’s where all thespurious business happens, that’swhere it all starts. There’s thedumpster, it reeks of cadavertoday.

There is a sequence involving Fritz engaging in thisMonk-ish ritual where he holds out his hands and analyzesthe crime scene.

WE’LL HAVE HIGH ANGLE SHOTS HERE TO INDICATE HE IS BEINGWATCHED.

Fritz sniffs the air.

The sound of a bullet being shot resounds around the alley

Fritz spins around and looks desperately for the source ofthe gunman.

The bullets now come in a stream.

POINT OF VIEW CUT

Fritz sees the gun man but the wall behind him shatters asthe gunman fires his Tommy gun.

Fritz ducks.

FRITZHalt!

SAME POV CUT SHOT THE GUNMAN STARTS TO RUN AWAY

Fritz gets up and pulls out his Colt revolver

Fritz pursues the gunman around 2 street corners beforeapproaching a crowd (we cant show the gun in public) wherehe loses sight of the gunman

Fritz gets into a taxi

TAXI DRIVERSure thing

TREATMENT OF TIME IS USED SO WE NOW SEE THE TAXI PULLINGUP TO THE ESTATE

Fritz hands over some coins to the taxi driver

FRITZGood man. Keep the change.

TAXI DRIVERHey! That wasn’t the full fee!You didn’-

Fritz slams the door of the taxi (this is the equivalentof kicking the dog)

Fritz walks into the estate and talks to the securityguard with his back to the viewer and the dialogue muffled

He proceeds to take the elevator up to the house

On his way up he checks how many bullets are left in hisrevolver, there is only one left

4 INT - VIOLET’S HOUSE - EVENING 4

Fritz rings doorbell

ROSEWho is this?

FRITZIt’s Fritz O’Connor, here toassist Ms Violet Gray with themurder case

FRITZ (V.O)Nice place they’ve got. Only aveneer though, like displaying adiamond on a pedestal of sand.

ROSECome on in. The missus will be

back soon. Would you like sometea, Mr. O’ Connor?

FRITZYes, thank you. Ms...?

ROSEI’m Rose, the housekeeper.

FRITZTell me Rose, what happened toMr. Gray?

ROSEIt was a terrible scene. Onenight, I heard screams from Mr.Gray’s bathroom and immediatelyran there. He was bathing in apool of his own blood, leakingfrom a huge gash to his neck. Iawoke the missus and she faintedupon sight.

FRITZDid Mr. Gray have any enemies?

ROSECertainly. He’s a lawyer.

FRITZBut of course. What type oflawyer is he, corporate,criminal?

ROSEAll kinds of law. Insurance,marriages, contracts, copyright,

civil rights, you name it.

Fritz walks out of the bathroom, grabs his gun and points

at Violet. Violet draws her pepper spray

FRITZHands up, Violet! Rose, get thepolice! Your master is amurderer!

VIOLETWhat is this?

Fritz smiles with an epiphany

FRITZ

(With conviction)You killed him didn’t you!

VIOLET(Faked innocence)

You wouldn’t accuse a poor girllike me of such a terrible murderwould you Fritz?

FRITZ(With conviction)

When you found out, you went mad,you went postal, you killedhim, bludgeoned him to death andthrew him in the shower. I sawthe blood underneath the lightswitch, them villains never checkunder there.

Violet smiles sheepishly

VIOLET(Patronizingly)

Alright you got me! Why don’t youarrest me.

FRITZNot so fast, you were behind thatphone call and that dropper inthe alley. I could hear thetrees billowing over the phonelike we can hear them now in yourapartment.

Your perfume, Violet. I couldsmell your perfume from thegarbage in the alley where thehobo was murdered. It stank ofguilt, it stank worse than thecontents of the dumpster. No onein the right mind would wearCaché La Poison.

VIOLETIs that it? Every respectablewoman wears Caché La Poisone!It’s very in this summer.

FRITZBut that doesn’t explain the gunyou’re hiding right now. If I’mright, the profile of that gunwill match that of the .22caliber bullet stated to havekilled the hobo in the officialpolice report. The hobo youkilled.

Loud bang, Fritz crumples and collapses as Rose shot him.

(With premonition)Thank you Rose, but the nightain’t over yet. Do you know how Ifelt like when saw the dirtylingerie stinking up our bed? Ifelt deprived. I felt angry, youknow how its like? CAMERA SHOULD ROTATE AND FOLLOW ROSE/VIOLET LIKE ASNORRICAM TO CAUSE DISORIENTATION

Violet removes a revolver from between her breasts(Victoria’s secret compartment) and fires.
