by: Jessie Alvarado Tulad ng ilaw sa labas, tuwing gabi, may bagyo man o wala, hindi sya pwedeng patayin dahil didilim ang daan. Marami ang mapapahamak. Kung tutuusin, dahil wala naman tayong paki-alam sa mga street lights, dapat wala din silang paki-alam sa atin. Mabuti na lamang at ginawa ng Diyos na walang free will ang mga yun. Kung nagkataon, ilang street lights na kaya ang nag-walk-out? At gaano na kaya kadilim ang lansangan tuwing umuulan dahil lahat ng street lights ay sisilong para hindi mabasa?

Napaisip ako… nung si Hesus ay namatay para sa ating mga kasalanan, He had an option to take power even without dying. Pero hindi Nya ginawa. At sabi ng Diyos, kung bakit ganun, ang dahilan ay ang Kanyang walang katumbas na pag-ibig. Ikaw ba naman, pipiliin mo ba ang masaktan at mapuno ng dumudugong mga sugat sa katawan at maipako sa krus kung wala ka naming pag-ibig sa kung kanino mo ginagawa ito?

Minsan, nagtatanong din ako sa aking sarili – bakit nga ba mas pinili ni Hesus ang napakalaking sakripisyo para sa akin na makasalanan? Iisa ang dahilan, at iyon ay ang walang pagdadalawang isip Nyang pag-sunod sa kagustuhan ng Ama.

Ang pagsunod sa Diyos ay nangangahulugang pagbibigay ng lahat-lahat! Ito ay ang sarili kapalit ng kagustuhan ng Diyos sa ating buhay. Ito ay ang pagtanggap ng kawalan para maihayag ang kakayanan ng Diyos na mag-puno ng mga ito. Ito ay ang pag-sunod ng walang pagdududa. Ito ay ang mapagpakumbabang pag-amin na kung wala Sya, ay wala din tayong magagawa.

Nang ipako si Hesus sa krus ng Kalbaryo, hindi madali ang Kanyang pinagdaanan. At tulad din ng sinabi ni Pablo sa Mga Taga-Galatia 2:20, “Ako'y napako sa krus na kasama ni Cristo; at hindi na ako ang nabubuhay, kundi si Cristo ang nabubuhay sa akin: at ang buhay na ikinabubuhay ko ngayon sa laman ay ikinabubuhay ko sa pananampalataya, ang pananampalataya na ito'y sa Anak ng Dios, na sa akin ay umibig, at ibinigay ang kaniyang sarili dahil sa akin.”

Kung tayo ay susunod sa kagustuhan ng Ama, tayo ay kailanagang mamatay sa sarili – hindi na umiibig sa mundo, hindi na sumusunod sa tawag ng laman, at hindi nagma-malaki kundi nagpa-pakumbaba. Ang mga hirap na ito ay kasama sa mga plano ng Diyos upang sa ating pagsa-sakripisyo, makikilala natin ang kalakasan at biyaya ng Diyos sa ating buhay.

Nakakatawa, pero yun ang katotohanan. Sabi nga nila, para makita mo ang maganda sa isang bagay o pagkakataon, gawin mo kung ano ang makaka-pagpaganda dito.

THE DAMASCUS “U-TURN” the transformation that Jesus made by: Eleazar Atienza

The passage was about Saul’s conversion which happened just when he planned to breath out threats to Lord’s disciples. He plotted to imprison people who believe in Christ. He, in himself, was Christ’s persecutor and Christ supporter’s murderer. But god works in ways we couldn’t even imagine. Saul, while on his way to Damascus, encountered a bright, radiant light from heaven flashed around him. He then fell on the ground and heard a voice asking “why do you persecute me?” And just when Saul asked who was he talking to, he then encountered “He” whom he was persecuting all the while. A great answer was heard from heaven saying, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting."

Perfectly amazing, Saul had a conversation with Jesus whom he was persecuting all this time- He who just died and resurrected and ascended to heaven. Could you just imagine how Saul fell on his knees in tremor, speaking to Jesus whom he persecutes and denies of resurrection?

The account didn't record any response from Saul except that he got up and opened his eyes but could see nothing. Then a prophet of the lord, named Ananias went and prayed for him and he was healed. Subsequent verses demonstrated how God had changed him. He at once began to proclaim God's goodness, preached about Jesus Christ and his resurrection as if he never raised havoc among those who believes in Jesus in Jerusalem. Yes – he who persecuted Jesus was the same person who attested that Jesus is the messiah.

Now, this is the power of God! Once you encounter Jesus and decided to follow him regardless of who you are, a guaranteed life-change's going to strike you down and you'll rise back up as a new person as God establishes a new, better, abundant, joyous, contented, enjoyable, meaningful life in you as you walk with him.

You may have hurt God, or sinned against him. But like what he did to Saul, he can change you! You may be broken, lonely, hopeless or unloved. But God says he loves you and he wants to turn your life of misery into a meaningful one. He wants to turn your mourning into dancing and your guilt to peace!

He loves you infinitely beyond you know he does... More than you ever dare would... And far more than you could imagine! It just takes a decision.

Ito ang sabi sa Bibliya kung gusto natin ma-develop ang ating katauhan sa magagandang bagay. Ito ang bagay na wala ako noon. Limang taon na ang nakalilipas mula nang tanggapin ko sa aking buhay si Jesus bilang nag-iisa at tangi kong tagapagligtas. Bago ang araw na iyon na tumanggap ako, ako si “EMY” - na punong-puno ng kalokohan, makasalanan, sakit sa ulo, pasaway at higit sa lahat di alam ang tamang paraan ng pagdarasal. I only pray in times I feel I need God, ang mas malala pa dun sinisisi ko ang Diyos kapag di natutupad ang mga nais ko. Dumating pa sa time na sinabi kong hindi siya makatarungan, na sinungaling siya. Pero heto ako ngayon ang bagong “EMY” dahil tinanggap ko ang Diyos sa aking buhay. Maraming bagay akong pinagpapasalamat sa Diyos. I am proud to say, this is me now, ang bagong “EMY”.

Sabi nga sa ISAIAH 55:6, “Seek the Lord while He may be Found; call upon Him while He is near”. At hindi nga ako nagsisi. I learned a lot of things. Naiintindihan ko na ngayon kung bakit minsan hindi sinasagot ni God ang mga prayers ko dahil naniniwala ako na may mas maganda pa siyang plano para sa akin. Naiintindihan ko ang tunay na halaga ng salitng pagmamahal, kapayapaan, kababaan ng loob dahil ang Diyos lang ang tunay na PAGMAMAHAL, ang tunay na kapayapaan dahil siya lang ang makapagbibigay sa atin ng ganoong uri ng pagmamahal. Sabi sa Philippians 4:6-7 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Sa kabila ng mga problemang dumarating sa aking buhay nalalampasan ko ang mga yun, kasi alam kong ang Diyos ay andiyan lang para sa akin. Kailanman, hindi niya ako pababayaan at ipapahamak. Makasalanan man ako noon tinanggap at pinatawad pa rin ako ng Diyos dahil sa pagmamahal niyang walang kasing busilak at dakila. Kaya natuto din akong tumanggap ng pagkakamali at magpatawad sa kapwa. At ang pinaka-pinagpapasalamat ko talaga sa lahat ay ang pagdarasal ng tapat, totoo at sa tamang panahon. Natutunan ko na walang itinakdang araw o oras para magdasal. Paggising ko pa lang sa umaga, biyaya na yun upang ipagdasal at ipagpasalamat sa Diyos. Sa pagkain pa lang na kinakain natin, we need to thank our God, our good health, safety and protection from dangers, and in everything that God does in our lives, thanks be to our God.

Ang Diyos lamang ang makapagpapabago sa atin sapagkat siya lamang ang tunay na nakakakilala sa atin. We develop good character in our life through our Faith and Love of God. Always see God bigger than our self. “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up” (James 4:10)

Kung ano man tayo ngayon, Diyos ang may dahilan. Siya lamang at wala ng iba at ang lahat ng ating ginagawa ay nararapat lamang na para sa kanya.

Saul, a Pharisee, was the early churches’ persecutor who put people of god to death because of belief in Christ Jesus - of which one was Stephen, whom he approved to be stoned to death. But Acts chapter 9 staged a wonderful story of transformation. It tells of great apostle Paul (Saul), who until death remained faithful in Christ Jesus, who he even penned about 73% of the New Testament.

Sharing secrets with friends are common among teenagers. Some elderly women talk about their personal lives with close

neighbors. Men often go to parties just to chat and to have fun with their buddies.

But there is one person who knows everything you talk about with your friends. He knows all your secrets and He knows you better than you know yourself... Are you frantic to know who that person is? Well, He can be your Bestfriend, your Father, your Ally, or your Big Brother. But if you don't allow Him to be with you, He will patiently wait for you to come close to Him - the GOD who made you just as adorable as you are!

Problems can make you dreary, confused and stressed. Many people today are sharing their problems and hurts with their friends but no one can give them the best advice they want to hear. Some go to bars just to amuse themselves thinking that they can forget all their hurts, but not for long. That's why they often forget God, who knows everything about them. Even if they knew Him by name, they never really know what He did for each of us; that is, He gave His only Son to die for our sins, for us to be cleansed and to be saved. There's no such perfect happiness than to hear these words, “for us to be cleansed and saved". No one can experience true joy if they haven't known and accepted God in their hearts, because life without Him is nothing but a mess. No one can say they have overcome temptation and trials if they haven't feel God's presence yet. But God loves all kinds of people - whether they are good or bad. He loves everyone of us so much that He even loves the most wanted man in jail; His love has NO exceptions!

Are you sure you know GOD? Or do you want to know Him further? There are only two things needed to do that: Believe and Repent. You must believe in God, repent and turn 180° from sinning. Accept Him as your Lord, your Savior, your Joy, your Father, your Brother, your Bestfriend, your God. Now I tell you, once you did these things, get ready for a change and the happiness that can never be compared to anything here on earth, it will burst from your heart and God will start to reign in your life.

Don't wait for another article for you to be MORE convicted! Don't take a step back because God is touching your heart right at this very moment. He's true, so as His love for you, so pray all these things to Him with all your heart, and He'll answer you. Humble yourselves and remove any pride from you. God's waiting for you and His arms are now wide open, welcoming you on His throne of Grace. Be a blessing!
