Saint Joseph Parish is reintroducing public Masses starting this weekend, June 20
th and
21st
. In this pilot phase, we are focusing on the Sunday Masses as well as the Saturday Vigil. Weekday public Masses will not resume until a later phase. We will be offering the Sat-urday 4:00 PM Vigil and the Sunday 7:30 AM, 12 Noon, and 5:00 PM Masses. Please call the Rectory, 203-748-8177, to register in order to attend Mass. We will be practicing social dis-tancing and all must wear a mask. Please do not attend if you are feeling ill or in any at-risk group.
The St. Joseph Rectory Office will be closed for walk-in service during this time, but you may call 203-748-8177, Monday through Fri-day, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for pastoral emergencies, Parish business, or for any other inquiries.
We are currently live streaming these Masses: 12:05 PM daily Masses, 4:00 PM Vigil Mass on Saturday, and 12:00 PM Sunday Mass so you may watch online. Please visit our website at www.stjosephchurchdanbury.org for more in-formation and for regular updates.

Father Seán Brett Duggan, O.S.B., attended Loyola
University in New Orleans and received a Bachelor of
Music degree in piano performance and a Master of
Fine Arts degree at Carnegie Mellon University in
Pittsburgh. He graduated summa cum laude with a
Master of Arts degree in Theology from Notre Dame
Seminary in New Orleans and was ordained to the
priesthood. In September 1983, Father Duggan won
first prize in the Johann Sebastian Bach International
Competition for pianists in Washington, D.C., which
entitled him, among other honors, to give various con-
certs around the country and a two-month tour of Ger-
many. In the “Bach Year,” 1985, he gave complete
performances of The Well-Tempered Clavier in New
Orleans, Pittsburgh, and Birmingham to critical ac-
claim. In 1991 he participated again in the Bach Com-
petition in Washington, D.C.; this time he was one of
three first-place winners, which entitled him to an-
other round of concert engagements and a second tour
of Germany. Throughout the year 2000, the 250th an-
niversary of Bach’s death, Father Duggan performed
the complete cycle of the composer’s keyboard works
eight times in a series of fifteen recitals entitled “Bach
On the Threshold of Hope.”

The St. Joseph Parish Community would like to congratulate Father David Franklin on the 35th Anni-versary of his ordination to the priesthood. Father was ordained by Bishop Walter W. Curtis on June 22, 1985.
We also congratulate our pastor, Father Samuel Scott on the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. Father Scott was ordained by Bishop Edward M. Egan on July 1, 1995.

Currently enrolled families received an email with reg-istration forms. Families who are new to our program are welcome to download the Registration Form and Emergency Contact Form on our Parish web-site, www.stjosephchurchdanbury.org. Please use the tab for Parish Life and drop down to click on Reli-gious Education. A copy of the Baptismal Certificate should accompany registrations for children who are new to our program or for those children not baptized at St. Joseph Church. 2020 Annual Catholic Appeal Renew
Thank you to all of the Saint Joseph Parish families who have already made their gift or pledge commitment to the 2020 Annual Catholic Appeal. The most recent report, dated June
1, 2020, indicates that pledges in the amount of $78,238 (67%) have been made against our parish goal of $117,000.
Please respond as soon as possible to Bishop Caggiano’s invitation to participate in the 2020 Annual Catholic Appeal. It is an easy and effective way to fulfill Jesus’ command to help ―the least of my children.‖

Four Duets from The Marriage of Figaro”
David Stein will present a lecture on Mozart’s great comic opera using video clips to reveal the charac-ters and the rich humanity and deeper spirituality of their relationships. Commentary with illustrations at the piano will help the audience perceive how the
music makes the characters so real to us.
No musical training or prior knowledge of the opera is expected.
David Stein has a degree in Piano Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, where he was awarded the Conservatory Prize in performance of modern music. He studied music history and mu-sic theory at Columbia University and music therapy at New York University. David is part of the Cecilians who present the Salon concert series at Promisek, a Catholic educational association, in Bridgewater, Connecticut. Promisek is co-sponsoring this presen-tation.
