A Sergeant Slips Tip for Building Friendships

People have a right to be called by their proper name and to establish

their own identity. If you want to call a friend or

someone a nickname you should check if they like it

or not first. If you have already called them that

name and they don’t like it then stop and apologize.

NO, I don’t think it’s ever ok. If someone has hurt you and

you’d like to call them a bad name

why not talk to your teacher

instead. Calling them a bad name will only end up

hurting you.

don’t like it. Then try to let it go.

If it really upsets you talk to

yourself and tell yourself that you are ok. Remind yourself of who

good at. Encourage yourself!

is bullying! And bullying is never ok! You don’t have to put up with it. Speak up

and tell a caring adult like your teacher, your parents, your school

chaplain or your principal. Don’t stop speaking up until the

bullying stops!
