Dear readers,
Although today our society has made substantial
progress in the field of science and technology, economic
development is also becoming continuous, but it is a
question before us whether this is enough to make a
civilization proud. It is certainly not the case, human
development is synonymous not only with material
development but also with moral development. Art and
literature reflect the pride of any civilization.
This era of social media could have been a platform for
the betterment of society, but today when we look around
us, it has become mostly a medium of communalism, mutual
hatred and hatred. We get angry with our fleeting feelings
and say things, but the courage to listen patiently to the
reaction of the society is becoming less and less.
In this era ,as well as literature has always been the
medium through which we can present our words politely to
the people and it is well known that in the world of poets and
poets, there is no other way than that which is wonderful
5
and as wonderful as anywhere else. . Someone has said very
well - "Literature is the medium through which we can take
out a beloved artist hidden within anyone, and create a
superior society based on cooperation and love."
Friends, we are going to publish our e-magazine
'Makarand' with this beautiful dream. Our aim is to provide a
platform to all such talented young artists, so that they can
reach their talent easily. To make any comprehensive dream
meaningful in real life, the cooperation of friends is required
and that is why I thank my colleagues and friends.
Dear readers, an artist is just hungry and we have full
confidence that you all will boost the morale of our young
artists. We keep getting your love and I rest my side with this
desire only.

Story : Salvation
On one fine day, a whole-hearted materialistic businessman turned
into a monk. He left all his possessions and set out in the Himalayas
in pursuit of finding 'meaning'.
He joined a monastery in the Himalayas in the remotest part of the
country in a village where the local people had the only pursuit to
pursue was survival. Adults used to work in their fields or small
businesses, kids would walk to the nearby town for their school. The
Monks would beg alms for their survival, collect things necessary for
the smooth functioning of the monastery and majorly meditate. He
observed he had a void in his whole past life. He was continuously
pursuing bigger and bigger business goals to earn more and more
money that would eventually buy him things, add luxury to his life.
He would yearn so strongly for one thing, he would make lots of
money, eventually buy it and after few days, a new obsession would
hover over his mind. He would notice that this pursuit, this strong
desire to possess one thing so subtly shifts to another thing but
without weakening a bit of its intensity. The love for that not-yet-
obtained thing would vanish ultimately when it is possessed.
However, time is a bird that flies without a bit sound of its wings
fluttering. The Monk observed, after few months, that he is again in
the same type of particular monotonous routine. He noticed that
apart from the bigger picture philosophy of this loop of life and
death, he was also trapped in a secondary loop of daily life, again, in
which one task was to seek 'truth'. The same loop he had escaped
when he was a worldly being, deeply involved and engaged with its
affairs and worrying about the consequences upon him, collecting
9
stuff. This time the bewilderment, the confusion in his mind was
more frustrating. He thought at least back then he knew what he was
after. He knew he wanted to earn more and more money. But, here
he doesn't even know what he is seeking. Does ultimate 'truth' really
mean anything? What was that he wished so hard to witness when
that he had gave up everything he possessed.
He noticed that just the scenario was changed, the strong desire to
fill that void to see the answers of several questions starting with
'why' was just the same. He couldn't even return to his City, his
business, his family.
This uneasiness was troubling him ,when one day on his way he
found a big bag full of money with a note to use it wisely. After living
a monk life for so many days, it was literally a treasure for him.
Surprisingly, this Discovery didn't bring him Joy at all. The
tormentation of dilemma was growing within him. He sat there for a
while and thought what should he do with all that money! Perhaps
he could start his normal life, set up a new business. Perhaps this
whole preachings of 'detachment' from worldly possessions, living a
minimalistic life are just product of some frustrated poor
philosophers' minds who couldn't get rich. But one part of him was
afraid of falling again into that loop. He also thought to throw the
money away but he asked him self, was that a wise thing to do. After
all money is the medium to survive a quality life that millions out
there desire to live.
While sitting their he recalled how he decided to change his path.
How it all started when he started asking questions to himself why
he is doing this and that, testing his every action and reaction taking
deep several questions and counter questions and how he realized
that most of it had random average reasons and was not making
sense much. All fathomable principles, theories, understanding and
10
knowledge will ultimately give up on a certain 'why' question. Due to
the intense self introspection and reluctance in his business,
eventually he lost most of his business partners and ended up in an
unending debt. While sitting there, he realized he didn't actually
deserted everything. He, in fact, had escaped in the name of seeking
'truth' and adding 'meaning' to his life.
This realization enlightened him. He felt like he had been drenched
by a morning drizzle. His mind was more clear than ever. The fog in
his head was wiped out.
That day, he brought back the money with him. The money was
sufficient to set up a school for the village kids who used to face
hardships in just using basic amenities. He, using his obtained
education, started to teach the kids. The act of 'giving' was fulfilling
his 'voids'. He didn't have any pursuit to chase after.
Now, he had a Purpose to fulfill, he experienced slowly that he had
attained 'Salvation'.

Just as I am
Yes,i am an introvert!
May be by birth.
Or may be i believe,
Because so do people apperceive.
Wanting to be alone,
But not completely lone.
I speak less-cry more,
In my thoughts i roar.
Too shy to speak up my thoughts,
Too isolated to make new knots.
Prefer turning pages of a good book,
To write-to draw-and to cook.
Introverts are not centre of attraction,
When they speak and give reaction.
But their heart,soul and mind,
Speaks a lot more in a way refined.
They say why don't you speak and laugh,
13
May be because I think a lot.
Or may be because of confined environment,
I've grown up in,giving me this entitlement.
I love addressing people with delight,
And when i do,i do it right.
But put me on stage profile,
I need to gather courage for a while.
I guess everyone becomes introvert,
When a certain situation hurt.
But I'm a lot more of it,
Love to be me-and I admit!

Marks of Character
One innocent girl
imprisoned in one dark room
hands and legs were tied
In a state of utter perplexity
frightened and distressed
appealing for help
but, no one’s heart melted
And no one came to set her free
After a long time ,
someone’s trampling sent shivers
all over her fragile frame
Her little heart became faint
There appeared a woman,
could she be the fairy God mother ?
She freed her from fetters
by which she was bound.
Because of that on her hands and legs
The marks of chords were visible
but the invisible marks branded in her heart
where she was imprisoned for a lifetime
16
that wretched moment when she was
abducted by someone,
separated from parents
sold in brothel
just for a handful of money.
This is the place that has
Many entrances
but with no exit
and from that same day
leaves a lease of life
trying to efface all the marks
which were imprinted on her character !!!

I'll Try
I'll try to face it
and not destroy , what's not present.
With all the pieces I own
trying to figure if it's true.
I'll not let it shatter.
I'll try to face it
before my own sunshine pulls me apart,
And traces hit hard again.
With the moonlight of kindness
I'll make life glow again.
I'll try to face it
even though it's the least left
and not a thing could be procured more
Watching all the clowns laugh ,
I'll make me smile again
I'll try to face it ,
I'll try !

MOM AND DAD
Admiring my thoughts,
Working for myself
It's my pleasure to be in the world full of innocence.
Where Mom is my first love,
Dad is my best friend,
Yes, I'm in the world full of innocence.
For you I may be selfish, shy or silly.
But for them I'm always their charm, gift and blessings.
Appreciating me in my victory,
Pampering me in my failures.
Keeping aside stranger's comment,
Stand with me amid odd circumstances.
Giving my choice their first priority,
Both are supporting me continuously.
Yaa! I'm afraid of this maddening crowd
Which is giving me unbearable wounds
Keeping aside all this things
I must say
Yes, I'm in the world full of innocence because this world is created
by my Mom and Dad.

CORONA WARRIORS
It was midnight and I couldn't sleep, I was continuously turning sides
until the alarm rang, it was my exam next morning and I was unable
to concentrate resulting in sleepless nights. Finally after a long
conversation with mom, I opened my books and again the phone
rang -
“Exams have been postponed till Apr 2nd, 2020!”
the voice on the call said.
In less than a week, the country got locked for 21 days. It's been 37th
day, the country is still locked and only He knows when things will be
normal.
In the 20 years of life I've lived, it's for the first time when not only
the country but the whole world is facing lockdowns. On one side,
when we are trying to feel safe in our house, with our family, cursing
an unknown and undefined logic for the pandemic, there are some
super humans on the other side, ensuring our security on the risk of
their lives! No, none of them is Tony Stark of Avengers, but still they
have provided an Iron Shield to the humanitarian existence! They are
giving their lives to conquer this examination of deadly Corona Virus,
they don't earn marks, they earn lives. Unlike us, they do not have
sleepless nights, they have just one goal, one mission, to save us.
They don't have family, they don't get time to eat, they don't sleep,
they don't have security issues, they may have complaints but they
are completing their responsibilities first. They are doctors, they are
nurses, they are police officers, they are sweepers, they are cleaners,
they are the WARRIORS!
As it's been said, the best part of the time is that ‘it changes’, this
time will also change, again there will be people on roads, again
there will be no fear of facing each other, again there will be
gamblers dealing with the happiness on the cost of priceless things,
23
and again there will doctors, cleaners, officers, but.. but the
humankind will have one more kinda life, the category of people who
have proved the line “वसुधैव कुटुुंबकम”्, the world will know them as
Corona Warriors!
They owe our respect,
They owe the title of Superheroes!
The future will have Superheroes who wear masks, not capes!

The Pen
The pen is a means
To express the feelings
Writing by pen has a meaning
A pen can change the world
By writing effective words
A pen has no right
But it can fight
It can make one might
It can make one wrong thing right
It looks like a flying kite
And it goes at impossible height

VOLLYBALL
I wish my love was like VOLLEYBALL you call "MINE" and everyone
"BACKS OFF".....
Apart from all the games cricket being the favourite sports all over
the world but I will talk about the volleyball. This sport became
popular very quickly and made its Olympic debut in 1964.Volleyball
was invented at Springfield college in Massachusetts. In 1895
William G Morgan struct with the idea while watching basketball
.He called this game
" MINTONETTE". This game was designed to be a combination of
basketball, baseball, tennis and handball.
For the standard rules USBVA(United States volleyball association)
was framed in 1928.The USBVA was one of the 13 charter members
31
of the FIVB, whose membership grew to more than 210 member
countries ,by late 20th century.
The offensive style of setting and spiking was first demonstrated in
Philippines in 1916.Usually volleyball is played with even number of
teams but it started with six members in a team. Typically,
recreational volleyball can be played with two, four or six
player's.Beach volleyball the popularly outdoor volleyball played on
sand court has different rules and is typically played by two players.
There are variations in court size, rules and number of players. A
different version of volleyball is played in Asia with the team of
nine - man.
There are some disputes about the first official volleyball used.
According to some sources SPALDING created the first volleyball in
1896 but some claims that it was created in 1900. Interestingly, In
1919 about 16000 volleyballs were distributed by the 'American
expenditionary forces' to their troops by Allies which sparked the
growth of volleyball in new countries.
The first country outside the United States to adopt the volleyball
was Canada in 1900. An international federation, the 'Federation
international de volleyball' (FIVB) was founded in 1947 and the first
World championship were held in 1949 for men and 1952 for
women.
In Olympic history Soviet union has won the most medals. The
Japanese and the Soviet union women's teams dominated from
1964 - 1984 but since the balance of power has shifted to Cuba then
to China and now to Brazil the United States men's teams were
32
prominent in 1980s,Italy in the 1990s and Brazil in the 2000s.A four
cycle of international events recommended by FIVB in 1969 with
the World Cup championships, to be held in the year following the
Olympic games ;the second year is the world championships ,in the
third additional events are held and in fourth year the Olympic
games.
In 1995, the sport of volleyball was 100 years old .The MINTONETTE
was design to be an indoor sport, less rough than basketball ,for
older members of YMCA. While still requiring a bit of athletic
effort.A number of consistent techniques involved in the volleyball
including spiking and blocking as well as passing ,setting the
specialised player positions and offensive and defensive structures.

The nine month of cave
is the safest happiest place
Her womb , became tomb
Because inside her Tummy
There was someone to called her mummy
Since she is the doll of my granny
Nowadays she is learning the tales
To make the baby (me)as she is funny
There was no clue
About the baby's eyes
Whether they are black or blue
The day she came to know her(me)
She pretends & tries to make herself happier
takes care of herself to be more healthier
She praise and prays
To keep me happy and fine
Inside her tummy
With endless duration of nine

As the nineth month came closer
She just truly wants the happiest treasure
Near or far she has gone through the scars
But when she saw her(me) for the first time
She just holds her eyes for while
