What does it do?
The presented mashup application, as the name suggests, predicts and presents important places of visit to the user, depending on a number of factors. They are
- Activities and Interests of the user – Facebook profile - Travel Habits of the user – Dopplr profile - Factors like Sync with Calender, Budget and Accessibility - Duration of stay - Mode of transport - Prupose of travel
Screen 1 is a questionnaire like form for the user. User answers the application with the above details
Server Components• There is a server component that consists of the following
– Robots and agents – Made with the help of openkapow, they collect data from the
– Extractor - Extraction from 5 different travel websites for different criteria
– RSSXLParser – Parses the extracted data into XML format for the client
– Ranker – Ranks events based on interest level • Top tourist attractions are given rank 1• Attraction based on profile match are given rank 2• Explicitly mentioned attraction is given rank 3
– Based on cumulative ranking. If Louvre is a profile match, its rank becomes 3(2+1) since is also a top attraction
Server Components Contd…
– Scheduler – Schedules the array of events, depending on location, time, mode of transport and interest.
– Route Planner – Suggests the nearest metro stations, route to take and station changes between two places

- Client is an adaptive representation format- Dial like presentation
showing the time andevent color coded andmarked for the timeof the day
- Metro route is also shown
