Wealth has a different judgment than Babylon’s!


Summary: Different Outcomes of WealthThe “tributes” and “riches of the nations” will flow to Israel.

NATIONS “You will devote their ill-gotten gains (Heb: betsa) to the LORD, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.” - Micah 4:13 (Same as Tyre’s wealth)

TYRE “Yet her profit (Heb: ethnan) and her earnings will be set apart for the LORD; they will not be stored up or hoarded. Her profits will go to those who live before the LORD, for abundant food and fine clothes.”- Isaiah 23:18

BABYLON “never to be found again.” - Rev. 18:21

Babylon: In addition to similarities with Tyre, we see syncretism of “religion and commerce,” “god

and Money” … back to Babylonia

Tyre: “excessive trading” & materialistic idolatry

Tyre: Global relations or “prostitution” with trade.

silver will be ruined.” - Zephaniah 1:10-112. “Writhe in agony, O Daughter of Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you must leave the city

to camp in the open field.” - Micah 4:103. “Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to

save them on the day of the LORD's wrath.” -Zephaniah 1:18


“See, the LORD is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it; he will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants— it will be the same for priest as for people, for master as for servant, for mistress as for maid, for seller as for buyer, for borrower as for lender, for debtor as for creditor. Ultimately, the basest order … a 6th and final phase where “merchants” become the “world great men.” (Rev. 18:23)

(#6 stands for man … or the works of man, for man was made on the 6th day.)

We conclude that wealth of “gold, precious stones and pearls” and “purple & scarlet” (Rev.

17:4) is destroyed or turned over

come together to form a world-dominating power coalition and World System under

Must be underway before and into the Tribulation. They are then disenfranchised.

Excessively Commercialized Nations Never Endorsed in the Bible

In admonishment of anyone who thinks that economic growth is infinite:

“Woe to you who add house to house and join field to field till no space is left and you live alone in the land. The Lord Almighty has declared in my hearing: ‘Surely the great

houses will become desolate, the fine mansions left without occupants. A ten-acre vineyard will produce only a bath of wine, a homer of seed only an ephah of grain’.”

- Isaiah 5:8-10

This is a prophecy still to be fulfilled in the future


Speaking of Assyria’s economic rapaciousness:

“Multiply like grasshoppers, multiply like locusts! You have increased the number of your merchants till they are more than the stars of the sky, but like locusts they strip the land

and then fly away. Your guards are like locusts, your officials like swarms of locusts that settle in the walls on a cold day— but when the sun appears they fly away, and

no one knows where.” - Nahum 3:15-17This is a prophecy still to be fulfilled in the future

The successive economic booms of the world …the temptations of the rising endtime apparition of great wealth or the “deceitfulness of wealth”(Matthew 13:22) … the greater material comforts or the “worries of this life” … the “anxieties of life” (Luke 21:34) … the ever ensnaring end-time money trap … they all play upon the affections of Christians. Who then can sustain such an assault and still stand ready at all times for His coming?
