A possessive pronoun is a pronoun that shows who or what has something.

There are two kinds of possessive pronouns:
Before a noun
Stands alone
Roxie plays with her toys.
However, Tom thinks those toys are his.
Before a Noun: my ouryour yourher, his, its their
Used Alone: mine oursyours yourshers, his, its theirs
These are all the possessive pronouns.
A possessive noun – Roxie’s – has an apostrophe.
A possessive pronoun does not - hers.
Unlike possessive nouns, possessive
pronouns never have an apostrophe.
That sleeping spot is Roxie’s.That sleeping spot is hers.Her sleeping spot is over there.
Be especially careful with its. Its is the possessive pronoun. It’s is the contraction for it is.
The desk has its chair with it.
It’s right there next to the desk.
It’s good that it’s with its desk.
