A Place to Call Home After a month in a shelter 2 teenage sisters, Jenna* and Tori*, thought a place to call home was out of reach. Jenna and Tori were removed from their home because it was no longer safe. At first, they went to stay with a relative, but that didn’t work for long. There were no foster homes available to take in teen- agers and keep Jenna and Tori together. The only option? A shelter. With no mom or dad, no brothers or sisters, just shift workers and an uncertain future. But Jenna never gave up. As the older sister she held out incredible hope that God could still provide for them. You can imagine the girls surprise when 4KIDS Residential Case Manager, Kira, went to meet the girls and talk to them about moving into a 4KIDS family style home together. “A lot of times when I go to meet with kids and I tell them about our 4KIDS home once I bring up our rules, most kids will shut down,” said Kira. “But I was so impressed that when I told Jenna and Tori about how our homes worked they were actually excited,” Kira continued. Jenna immediately broke into tears when Kira told her there was room for both her and her little sister in our 4KIDS home, Girls Place. “I have been praying that God would give us a home,” said Jenna. “I just can’t believe you’re really here, saying we can go to a home together,” Jenna said through her tears. A home and a family was all that Jenna and Tori were longing for. Jenna and Tori have a place at the family table every night, they have a foster mom who loves and encourages them, they have other sisters now to laugh with, and the best of all is that they get to stay together. Jenna and Tori finally have a place to call home, together. *Names and photos have been changed to protect the identities of the kids we serve. A Place to Call Home

After a month in a shelter 2 teenage sisters, Jenna* and Tori*, thought a place to call home was out of reach. Jenna and Tori were removed from their home because it was no longer safe. At first, they went to stay with a relative, but that didn’t work for long. There were no foster homes available to take in teen-agers and keep Jenna and Tori together.

“A lot of times when I go to meet with kids and I tell them about our 4KIDS home once I bring up our

rules, most kids will shut down,” said Kira. “But I was so impressed that when I told Jenna and Tori

about how our homes worked they were actually excited,” Kira continued.

Jenna and Tori have a place at the family table every

night, they have a foster mom who loves and encourages them, they have other sisters now to laugh with, and the best of all is that they get to stay together. Jenna and Tori finally have a place to call home, together.

We are amazed to constantlysee individuals and organi-zations fi nd creative ways to advocate for kids in ourcommunity. Most recently Con-current Computer Corporationused a team building day to buildsomething even greater for kids.Their International Sales Team was meeting in Miami from all over the world. They wanted to fi nd a group activity that would both build unity and bless the community.

Sales reps from London, Hong Kong, New York, and many other cities all came together and built bikes for kids in our homes! At the end of the team building activity they invited 4KIDS

families to come to the MarriottKey Biscayne to pick up the brand new bikes.

To say our kids were thrilled to take home a bike of their own would be an understatement. One 4KIDS adoptive mom,Mindy, said, “She has been riding her bike every day since! Blue is her favorite color ans she chose to keep the curly ribbons on it

because she loves how fancy it is!”

A team building exercise turned into a huge blessing for our families. For more informationon how you can get involved call Crystal Harrison at 954-590-1568.

Impressions of Hope At just 3-years-old Chase* needed 7 different transplants. On top of that, Chase has also been in the foster care system and has been for most of his life. But hope is shining through in Chase’s life. Chase’s 4KIDS foster mom, Joyce, has stepped up and loved chase without fear of his medical complications.

Miracles are in no short supply for Chase. When he went in for surgery they discovered he only needed two transplants instead of the 7 they anticipated. And while they expected a 10 week hospital stay, Chase recovered so well that he went home after 5 weeks.

In the midst of Chase’s physicalhealing is the restoration happening in his biological mom’s life. As a 17-year-old she is doing her best to be a loving and involved mom, with the full sup-port of Joyce. Joyce has takenChase’s mom under her wing; they sit together through every one of Chase’s surgeries. Joyce is encouraging Chase’s mom as she begins her senior year of high school and is cheeringher on as she makes strides to be the best mom possible for

Chase.

Continue to pray for Chase’s complete healing, for his foster mom Joyce, and for Chase’s mom as she strives to love and care for him.
