OPERATING HOURSOperating hours for the YMCA of Columbia are as follows: »Monday - Thursday: 5 a.m. - l0 p.m.* »Friday: 5 a.m. - 8 p.m. »Saturday: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. »Sunday: 1 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.* Note: The Downtown branch closes at 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The Lexington branch opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. Monday - Thursday.

COMMUNITY WIDE MEMBERSHIPA Community Wide Membership provides Members access to all programs and services at our YMCA facilities in Columbia, Lexington, Ballentine, lrmo, Lake Carolina, and Orangeburg. Benefits include Members rates, priority registration for programs, and access to Members - only programs and services at any YMCA of Columbia branch.

FAMILY MEMBERSHIPUp to two adults and their dependent children living at the same address may apply for a Y Family Membership. (Dependent children are those claimed on your last year’s federal tax return).

BRANCH MEMBERSHIPMembers with a branch Membership at the Lexington or Orangeburg YMCAs may visit other facilities as a guest for $10 per day or upgrade their Membership to a Community Wide Membership to visit for no charge.

OPEN Y PROGRAMThanks to generous donors from individuals and organizations to the Y’s Annual Campaign, the Y is able give financial assistance for life-changing programs and services. This allows the Y to live by it’s mission to welcome everyone in our doors regardless of the ability to pay.

GUEST POLICYIf you are considering a Y membership, we invite you to tour the facility to receive a complimentary day guest pass. Bring your guest pass back to enjoy all the Y has to offer. Non-members may visit our facilities for $10 per day. Any person that does not hold a current membership must be 18 years or older to visit without a parent or guardian present. All guests are required to present a photo ID, sign a daily waiver and wear a guest wristband during visit.

CHILDWATCH A YMCA Staff supervised area where Member’s children can play and enjoy activities while parents work out. Members have the opportunity to enjoy the benefit of Childwatch while on premises and up to two hours per child per day. Contact your local branch for details. NATIONWIDE MEMBERSHIPWe understand that sometimes it is more convenient for members to take advantage of a Y near their workplace or when they are traveling outside the area of their home Y. With Nationwide Membership, members have the flexibility to use participating Y facilities throughout the United States at no extra charge. Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating YMCA in the United States through membership at your “home” YMCA (your home Y is the local association that enrolled you as a member and collects your membership dues). You must utlitize your “home” YMCA at least 50% of the time.

RUNWITHPURPOSE2018 Race SeriesThe YMCA of Columbia race series consists of six events around the Midlands that are fun for the whole family! From Kids Fun Runs and 5Ks, to 12Ks, and a triathlon, our races are designed for all levels of runners and walkers. Each event includes family-friendly activities and is open to the community.

Proceeds from each race benefits the YMCA of Columbia Annual Campaign, which allows the Y to give scholarships and financial assitance to those children, seniors and families in our communities who cannot afford the Y’s life-changing programs and services.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a twelve-week, small group programdesigned for adult cancer survivors.

This program fulfills the important need of supporting cancer survivors in our community. They will work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building strength; increasing flexibility and endurance; and improving confidence and self-esteem. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is helping people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind and body.

MOVES®Ages: 18+ with Parkinsons or other neurological disorderPWR!Moves® Group classes start with the repetitive training of four foundational skills that underlie everyday function and that become impaired in PD. PWR!Moves are always performed with HIGH EFFORT for bigger and faster movements while directing your attention on “how it feels” to use your full movement potential. The emphasis is on learning what “optimal function” feels like so that you learn to move bigger and faster in your everyday life. All skill levels welcome. Classes are outdoors year round, so dress appropriately. Weightlifting gloves, straps, personal jump rope and knee sleeves aren’t required.

SPORTSITTY BITTY SPORTSAges: 3-5Our affordable “Itty Bitty Sports” classes are a great introduction to the fundamental skills of sports in a safe and fun environment. Each class will work with qualified trained instructors on age-appropriate skills and learn the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith. A new sport will be taught each week.Requirements: Because of children’s age, parents are required to remain in the building during class. Please make sure your child wears athletic shoes and athletic attire for comfort and safety.Cost: $35 YMCA members/$75 non-members Days/times: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 1-1:45 p.m. 4-week sessions: September 4-27, October 2-30, November 6- December 13, January 8-31, February 5-28, March 5-28, April 2-30

WINTER YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALLAges: 3-14This program provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in a non-contact sport while learning lessons in teamwork and sportsmanship. Designed to help your child learn the game of football and have lots of fun while doing it! Players will learn the fundamentals of football, both offensive and defensive strategies. During the games players will have the opportunity to play different positions. Everyone gets to play a minimum of half the game. Program includes one practice per week and Saturday games (except two games played on Friday nights). Young EntryStudents will continue to work on same skills as the Hopeful level, but with more work cantering securely around the arena. Rider should be able to consistently pick up the correct leads. Jumping single crossrails lines and small verticals.

CavallettiStudents should be able to trot securely around the entire ring in a 2-point, posting trot, and over cavalletti poles. They should know and consistently demonstrate correct diagonals. During western lessons they should have the ability to sit deeply and softly in a jog. The rider should ride unlocked and flexible through their 3 shock absorbers. They will have a basic concept on how to ask and ride a canter down the long side of the arena.

MARTIAL ARTSThe Martial Arts program is to teach the kids different techniques. The class is designed to reward patience and courage in a structured environment.
