The Guardian Angel, our friend that we areunable to see, has an amount of responsibility inour life that we cannot even imagine.

It is the duty of our Guardian Angel to presentto God our acts of adoration, our good intentionsand wishes.

He carefully watches over us, and as someonesent from above, he causes us to think, by meansof inspiration about God’s wishes for us.

He constantly sees the face of God, the side ofwhose throne he never leaves, even though he isat the service of men, since the love whichdevours him and the obedience which he prac-tices are inseparable. Even after this life, he willremain our Guardian Angel, who, welcoming us

at the gates of Purgatory, will introduce us to theBlessed Kingdom.

Let us love, invoke and respect our angel. Letus respect him by always behaving before him aswe should behave before someone who has theduty to refer to the King all that we do.

When we feel sad, let us invoke him, so that hemay bring us a ray of light, a little flame of purejoy which only angels can bring. Our appeal tohim will never be in vain. True friends are con-sidered by the Holy Spirit as a real treasure,there are few true friends in this world. The mostof the time they betray us and move away from uswhen we are most in need.

But our angel is a true friend who has a realparticipation in our joys and our sorrows, andwhile doing what he does to prevent us frombeing damaged physically or spiritually, he helpsus to conquer all that is good for us.

Let us not forget therefore he who watches overus on our right side like a servant. Let us put allour trust in him, let us give him the most delicateand the most important tasks. Let us pray to himand give thanks to him for all of the service,which he freely gives us.

Let us teach our children to pray to their goodangel and let us ask for the protection of theChurch, his Holiness the Pope, and all familiesand institutions. He is always near you, day andnight. During the day, with all the love in ourhearts, let us frequently think about him withaffection and thanksgiving.

On Tuesdays, a day which is consecrated byhim, go to Mass, approach the Eucharist and dosome other good deed in his honour, closing theday with the recital of the beautiful, effective,and consoling Rosary to the Angels, which is ahymn to the Nine Choirs of Angels. Do notneglect either to honour the Angles during theirrespective feast days:

To be recited, entirely, for nine consecutive days:beginning on the 23rd of September, or each time thatyou wish to express your devotion to the GuardianAngels or that you wish to request some form of grace.

If we wish to obtain some form of grace from the Lord,we must firstly go to confession, then recite the Nove-na for nine consecutive days and try to participate inthe Holy Mass every day, receiving the BlessedEucharist.

In the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Oh God, come and save me.Lord, come quickly to my aid.

A Novena to the Holy Angels

The CreedI believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty,maker of Heaven and Earth,and in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord,who was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.He descended into Hell, and on the third day he rose again, And ascended into Heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the FatherAnd he will come again to judge the livingand the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church,the communion of the Saints,the forgiveness of sins.the resurrection of the dead,and life everlasting. Amen.

The formulae and the orations outlined above are tobe recited every day, as a beginning to the prayer.

THE FIRST INVOCATION

Angel, my guardian, faithful doer of God’swill, who since the initial moments of mylive have been watching over my soul and mybody, I salute you and give you thanks,together with the whole choir of angels, whoare sent by Divine Goodness to be guardiansof men.

I beseech you to prevent me from stum-bling and falling during my present pilgrim-age, so that my soul may be ever more con-served in the purity which it received throughbaptism.

as you have been entrusted with this taskby celestial piety. Amen.

Angel, my guardian, affectionate compan-ion and only true friend who accompaniesme always and everywhere, I salute you andgive you thanks, together with the wholechoir of archangels elected by God, in orderto announce great and mysterious things.

I beseech you to illuminate my mind inorder to make me aware of the Divine Will,and to move my heart in order to remain con-formant to the faith which I profess, so that Imay receive the prize which has beenpromised to true believers.

Angel, my guardian, knowledgeableteacher who never ceases to teach the truescience of the saints, I salute you and I giveyou thanks, together with the choir of begin-ners, who are destined to preside over minorspirits.

I beseech you to watch over my thoughts,my words and my deeds, making me confor-mant in everything to your healthy teachings,let me never loose sight of the holy fear ofGod, the sole and infallible Prince of trueknowledge.

Angel, my guardian, loveable guide who,by means of gentle rebukes and continualwarnings, invite me to liberate myself fromsin, every time that due to my own disgrace,I fell into it, I salute you and I give youthanks, with the choir of the powerful, whoare destined to stop Satin in his tracks.

I beseech you to awaken my soul from thelethargy in which it is currently in, in orderto be able to resist and triumph over all myenemies.

Angel, my guardian, powerful defenderwho by means of making me assiduouslygain sight of the deceitful nature of the Devilin all the traps of this world, and in the temp-tation of the flesh, you facilitate my victoryand triumph over them, I salute you and Igive you thanks, together with the choir ofvirtues, destined by God, to do miracles andto lead men along the path of holiness.

I beseech you to come to my aid in all of thedangers that I may encounter and to defendme from all assaults, so that I may walk safe-ly in the practice of all virtues, especiallyhumility, purity, obedience and charity, thosewhich are dearest to you, and those which aremost necessary for salvation.

THE SIXTH INVOCATION

Angel, my guardian, incomparable advisor,who in the most lively of ways always makesme conscious of the will of God and of themost opportune ways for its realisation, Isalute you and I give you thanks, togetherwith all the choirs of leaders elected by Godin order to communicate his decrees and togive us the strength to be able to dominateour own passions.

I beseech you to liberate my mind from alltroublesome doubts and from all dangerousperplexities, so that, I may be free from allfear, according to your advice, which isadvice for peace, justice and holiness.
