Here’s a quick rundown on the mostimportant things to know about the HealthInsurance Marketplace, sometimes knownas the health insurance “exchange.”
Important. Before November 15, 2014,you can enroll in a Marketplace health planonly if you qualify for a Special EnrollmentPeriod. Any plan you enroll in beforeNovember 15, 2014 ends December 31,2014. You can apply for Medicaid and CHIPany time. Find out if you qualify for aSpecial Enrollment Period or Medicaid andCHIP.
Use the Marketplace to get coveredThe Health Insurance Marketplace helps
uninsured people enroll in health coverage.Fill out a Marketplace application and we’lltell you if you qualify for:• Private health insurance with savings
based on your income. Plans coveressential health benefits, pre-existingconditions, and preventive care. Mostpeople who apply through theMarketplace qualify for premium taxcredits and savings on out-of-pocketcosts based on household size andincome.
• Medicaid and the Children’s HealthInsurance Program (CHIP). Theseprograms provide free or low-cost
coverage to millions of families withlimited income. Many states areexpanding Medicaid to cover morepeople. Find out what Medicaidexpansion means for you.
Fees, exemptions, and qualifyingcoverage• Most people must have health coverage
or pay a fee. If you don’t have coveragein 2015, you’ll pay a penalty of either 2%of your income, or $325 per adult($162.50 per child) — whichever ishigher.
• You’re considered covered under thehealth care law if you have any job-based plan, any plan you boughtyourself, Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, andmany other kinds of coverage. See a fulllist of plans and programs that meet thehealth law’s coverage requirement.
• Some people qualify for an exemptionfrom the fee based on income or othersituations.
3 more things to know• If you’re eligible for job-based insurance,
you can consider switching to aMarketplace plan. But you’ll qualify forpremium tax credits and other savingsbased on your income only if the job-
based insurance isn't consideredaffordable or doesn’t meet minimumvalue requirements.
• If you have Medicare, you’re consideredcovered and don’t have to make anychanges. If you have Medicare, you can’tuse the Marketplace to buy asupplemental plan or dental plan.
• You can buy a plan outside theMarketplace and still meet the healthcare law’s coverage requirements. But ifyou buy outside the Marketplace, youwon’t be eligible for premium tax creditsor other savings based on your income.
Take action• Open Enrollment starts November 15,
2014. You can’t apply for 2015 coverageuntil then. In the meantime, you can getready to apply.
• In November, you’ll be able to preview2015 plans and estimated prices beforeyou fill out an application. If you had Marketplace coverage in
2014, learn how to enroll in your currentplan or change plans.

(Wheeling, IL - USA) Abbott-InterfastCorp/Titan Metal Werks, Inc.,manufacturer of SplitStop™ HighPerformance screws has been grantedpatent #8,714,887, by the USPTO, for theindustry’s first Composite FasciaInstallation System.
The SplitStop Fascia Installation Systememploys the use of two specially designedcomponents; a Fascia Bit and a head-painted, stainless steel Fascia Screw. Usedtogether, our system allows installers to“hang” composite fascia boards on the rim-joists of a deck. This patented installationmethod eliminates broken screws andfascia board buckling (warping, oilcanning). Our system eliminates job-sitecall-backs that result from shrinking rim-joist boards, and expanding compositefascia materials. This opposing movementhas plagued composite fascia boardinstallers, consumers and manufacturersfor years. The solution, prior to ourpatented system, has been the use of anexcessive number of screws resulting in avery unsightly appearance. Titan’s simplechange to installation technique looksclean, is quick, and saves on customer
complaints. SplitStop fascia screws arehead-painted in five colors, plus white, tocoordinate with most composite fasciaboards. Custom colors available uponrequest.
Executive Vice President Bob Baer states,“Our new fascia installation systemdemonstrates Titan’s efforts to meet theever-changing needs of the deck-buildingindustry with new and innovative solutionsto commonly occurring jobsite problems.”The installation system can be purchasedfrom building material retailers underTitan’s SplitStop or TimberTech®’sTOPLoc™ brand names. Website purchasesare also available at www.splitstop.com.
