a new sermon series

Real life, like the board game we played as children, is filled with twists and turns, setbacks and surprises. We play the cards we’re dealt . . . We take risks, face adversity, suffer losses and sometimes real rewards. And, like a board game, real life eventually comes to an end. How are we meant to play the game? In this new series of messag-es Pastor Kent describes six of life’s most important lessons that make the difference between bitterness and peace, joy and sorrow, despair and hope.

Join us beginning April 23 as we uncover together the Six Simple Truths about LIFE.

Kid Zone will be coming to our church starting on Sun-day, April 16th. It will consist of stations including bi-

ble adventures, crafts, games, and music. Kids will

place of Sunday school and be held during the worship

service from 10:30-11:40. Children will have the choice of attending worship with their family or going to Kid

Zone.

To everyone who helped with

the outdoor cleanup last

Thursday, the Trustees are

very appreciative. In one

evening, we cut down bush-

es, trees, cleaned out a flower

bed, and the church property

looks great! Thank you to

Dick Samuelson, Jeff Hod-

son , Cody Schlotzhauer and

Dwight Dunsworth for rent-

ing the chipper and finishing

up clearing off the debris the

following day. And thank

you to Glen Wiens for the

use of the big truck! The

front of the church is really

opened up now and this will

make installing the new win-

dows so much easier (coming

as soon as the weather coop-

erates)!

Offering for Hastings Shelters

The GUM Missions Commission, (Serving Team), has invit-ed representatives of our local shelters to share infor-mation on their work with our congregation during the month of April. Following these updates we plan to collect an offering for Crossroads, the SASA (Spouse Abuse and Sexu-

al Assault ) Crisis Center and the MLC (Maryland Living Cen-ter) on Sunday, April 23. We ask you to prayerfully consid-er the needs of those being served and join us in sup-porting the efforts of these local shelters. Please specify how you would like your giving allocated among the 3 shelters. Bookkeeping prefers separate checks please.
