EDITOThe new year has begun and from the team at Alliance Française Accra, we wish you all the best for the year. January and February will be musical and eclectic with the folk of the now traditional Batakari Night, the high life of the Fraternity Concert and the projection of Mozart’s «Don Giovanni» performed at the Aix en Provence Festival. The Made in France Nights continue their momentum with «Bécassine!» in January and the exceptional presence of Christophe Barbier for his show «The Tour of the Theater in 80 minutes» in February. Don’t forget to register for the new session. Classes include French, English, Twi. Also available is our new Sunday Classes.

La nouvelle année commence à l’Alliance Française d’Accra et toute l’équipe vous souhaite ses meilleurs voeux. Janvier et février seront musicaux et éclectiques avec le folk de la désormais traditionnelle Batakari Night, la high life du Fraternity Concert et la projection du « Don Giovanni» de Mozart donné au Festival d’Aix en Provence. Les Soirées Made in France continuent sur leur lancée avec « Bécassine!» en janvier et la venue exceptionnelle de Christophe Barbier pour son spectacle « Le Tour du Théâtre en 80 minutes » en février. Côté enseignement, n’oubliez pas de vous inscrire à la nouvelle session : Français, Anglais, Twi.Et pourquoi ne pas essayer les cours du dimanche ?

.. SOIREE MADE IN FRANCE 3 ..Bécassine is born in a modest Breton farm. She dreams of Paris but her meeting with Loulotte, a baby adopted by the Marquise de Grand-Air, will change her life. She beco-mes her nurse. This film is an adaptation of the famous cartoon created by Emile-Joseph Pinchon.

Bécassine naît dans une modeste ferme bre-tonne. Elle rêve de Paris mais sa rencontre avec Loulotte, bébé adopté par la Marquise de Grand-Air, va bouleverser sa vie. Ce film est une adaptation de la bande dessinée créée par Emile-Joseph Pinchon.

With the use of cultural symbols in community storytelling as a point of departure, space is explored beyond its context as crucible for interac-tions, but in itself the rooted implication in the production of individual identities and social inequalities.

Les dimensions spatiales des interactions sociales et numériques créent des plates-formes propices à la construction des relations de pouvoir entre les sexes. Donkomi Dialogue brise ainsi le « quatrième mur » qui sépare traditionnellement l’artiste et le public.

Trigmatic’s «My Life Concert» is a celebra-tion of his career in music spanning over a decade. In the last couple years Trigmatic has evolved as an all-round artist; churning out hip hop, reggae, dancehall and Highlife hits that have given him an audience on stages across Europe & Africa. The concert will be opened by Kobla Jnr, Kankam, Kwan Pa Highlife group & the Safoa Band.

“My life Concert” de Trigmatic célèbrera sa carrière musicale qui, depuis plus d’une décen-nie, enchaîne les succès. Ces deux dernières an-nées, Trigmatic s’est révélé comme un artiste complet. Le hip-hop, le reggae et le dancehall lui ont permis de conquérir un nouveau public à l’étranger.

The 2nd edition of the Fra!ternity Concert, themed FRATERNITY II seeks to promote the band’s recently released album titled “FRA!TERNITY” and hang out with its fans. The band will perform some already released songs and also perform new songs that are yet to be released. The concert will be head-lined by FRA! and will be supported by some friends of the band such as, eShun, Robin Huws, Queen Ayorkor, Kueiqu Afro, Susan Augustt, Kurl Songz and many more...

Pour la 2ème édition du Concert FRA!TER-NITY, le groupe FRA présentera son nouvel album à ses fans. Le concert proposera des chansons déjà connues du public mais aussi de nombreuses nouveautés.

.. SOIREE MADE IN FRANCE 4 ..You know the man with the red scarf, edito-rialist and journalist, but Christophe Barbier is also a man of theater. He shares his passion in a funny, instructive and fascinating piece «The tour of the theater in 80 minutes» cur-rently at the Théâtre de Poche in Paris.

Vous connaissez l’homme à l’écharpe rouge, édi-torialiste et journaliste, mais Christophe Bar-bier est aussi, et surtout, un homme de théâtre. Il fait partager sa passion dans une pièce drôle, instructive et fascinante «Le tour du théâtre en 80 minutes» actuellement au Théâtre de Poche à Paris.

.. CONCERT ..King Ayisoba, the widely acclaimed “King of Kologo Music” presents once again the Ba-takari Night. King Ayisoba is currently one of the most popular Ghanaian artists on the World Music scene and he feels Ghana has more to offer. Batakari Night will feature some of Ghana’s leading Kologo players including Sulley Ayune, Stevoo, Agongo and special guest appearances by Wanlov the Kubolor, Atongo Zimba, Wiyaala and many others. Everyone is encouraged to wear a Batakari.

King Ayisoba, artiste ghanéen très populaire sur la scène internationale présente encore une fois la nuit du Batakari! Sulley Ayune, Stevoo, Agongo, Wanlov le Kubolor, Wiyaala et beau-coup d’autres artistes seront présents.

.. CONFERENCES ..Man, at the heart of the concerns of artists of the Renaissance, allows the emergence of a new current of thought in literature as well as in the arts. Estelle Arlandis, historian of art, takes you for a walk in French Humanism.

L’Homme, au cœur des préoccupations des ar-tistes de la Renaissance, va permettre l’éclosion d’un nouveau courant de pensée dans les lettres comme dans les arts. Estelle Arlandis, histo-rienne de l’art, vous propose une promenade dans l’Humanisme à la française.

The play «DANS TES BRAS» finds its origin in the desire to value the feminine as a univer-sal quality. Inspired by archetypes, this four-th creation by the Brazilian choreographer Luanda Mori explores, through sacred sym-bolism, the invisible dance that animates us and highlights points of convergence between different cultures, a reflection of our society and the artistic team of the project.

La pièce est née suite au désir de valoriser le fé-minin en tant que qualité universelle. Le choré-graphe brésilien Luanda Mori explore la danse en mettant en avant les points de convergence entre différentes cultures.
