This competition sets a stage for the young and adept minds to expose their entrepreneurial potential by presenting Business Plans, which support future growth & development. B-Plans in any area/industry/sector can be prepared. Some of the suggested sectors are: E-Commerce Information & Communication Technology for bridging Rural & Urban Areas Green & Clean Energy Dairy or Poultry Farming Eco-Tourism Enterprise Development Infrastructure Development Cottage Industry Food & Health Industry Wood Industry Any other sector or idea which not covered above Prizes & Certificates Winner: Rs.15,000/- 1 st Runner-up: Rs.10,000/- 2 nd Runner-up: Rs.8,000/- Note: Participation/Runner-up/Winner Certificates (as applicable) will be provided to the members of all shortlisted teams. A National Level B-Plan Competition

Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal with its focus on the “Triple Bottom Line Framework” is

organizing - “Daksh-2017: A National Level B-Plan Competition” during its Annual Management Conclave -

“Coalescence-2017” for all start-up enthusiasts & budding entrepreneurs. This competition sets a stage for the

young and adept minds to expose their entrepreneurial potential by presenting Business Plans, which support

future growth & development.

B-Plans in any area/industry/sector can be prepared. Some of the suggested sectors are:

• E-Commerce

• Information & Communication Technology for bridging Rural & Urban Areas

• Green & Clean Energy

• Dairy or Poultry Farming

• Eco-Tourism

• Enterprise Development

• Infrastructure Development

• Cottage Industry

• Food & Health Industry

• Wood Industry

• Any other sector or idea which not covered above

Prizes & Certificates Winner: Rs.15,000/-

1st Runner-up: Rs.10,000/-

2nd Runner-up: Rs.8,000/-

Note:

Participation/Runner-up/Winner Certificates (as applicable) will be provided to the members of all

Students from Engineering Institutes

Start-ups running for at most one year

Daksh-2017 Stages

Stage One: Online submission of executive summaries of the B-Plan

The first round is the screening stage, where participant entries will be screened depending upon the executive

summaries of their B-Plans and financial projections. The entries have to be submitted online.

• Register by sending an email to [email protected] with the subject as

“Daksh2017_<TeamName>_<InstituteName>” and with the executive summary attached by

28th September, 2017.

• The email body should contain the following details:

Name of the Team

Name of Member1

Name of Member2

Name of Institute

Course/Specialization

Institution's City, District & State

Email-id (Member1)

Email-id (Member2)

Contact No. (Either Member)

• The executive summary can be a maximum of 3 pages excluding the cover page.

• Cover page should have the team’s name, team members’ name, their contact information and the

Institute’s name.

• Executive Summary Font Specifications:

o For Body: Font = Times New Roman; Size = 12; Line Spacing = 1.15

o Headings can be at most upto 3 levels:

▪ Heading 1: Font = Times New Roman; Size = 16; Bold; Line Spacing = 1.15

▪ Heading 2: Font = Times New Roman; Size = 14; Bold; Line Spacing = 1.15

▪ Heading 3: Font = Times New Roman; Size = 12; Bold; Line Spacing = 1.15

• 5 teams will be shortlisted based on the executive summaries for the final round of presentation.

• Names of the 5 shortlisted teams will be announced on 30th September, 2017 via email.

Stage Two: Submission of Complete B-Plan Document & PPT

In this stage, the 5 shortlisted teams will be asked to submit soft copies of their complete

B-Plans to the Daksh Team via e-mail

The shortlisted teams will have to submit their complete B-Plan soft-copies (pdf+ppt) by 8:00pm on

6th October, 2017.

• Soft Copies of the B-Plans should be sent to [email protected], with the subject as

“Daksh2017_<TeamName>_<InstituteName>”.

• B-Plan Font Specifications: Same as Executive Summary

• Cover page should have the team’s name, team members’ name, contact information and Institute’s

name. These details should not appear anywhere else in the B-Plan.

• The detailed business plan may contain the following points:

The Target Customer Segment

The Proposed Solution

Main Features of the Proposed Solution

How are these features better that the features offered by direct and indirectly competing

products in the market?

How would the product / service with the above features be developed?

How would the product be delivered to the target customer?

How would the target customer get to know about the product?

How would the target customer order the product?

How would the payment be collected?

How would the target customer be provided post sales service?

What would be the approximate cost of the items 5 to 10?

What would be the willingness of the target customer to pay for the above product?

What would be the Contribution to cover the Overheads?

How would be the Customer Pay for the Product (Revenue Model)?

What is the Sustainable Competitive Advantage in the Business?

Some of the points above can be excluded if not found relevant to the plan. Any other point that may

be relevant should be included.

Stage Three: Final Presentation of the B-Plan in Daksh-2017

The 5 shortlisted teams will be invited to the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal to present

their B-Plans in Daksh-2017

Shortlisted teams should bring Soft Copy & Hard Copy of their B-Plans while attending Daksh-2017.

Rules & Instructions

Each team can have a maximum of 2 members.

No student can be a part of more than one team.

One team can submit only one entry.

There is no restriction on the number of teams from an institute.

Shortlisted Participants must bring their college ID cards for Daksh-2017.

Shortlisted Participants should be in formals while presenting their B-Plans.

Decision of the panel members is final.

Materials for business plans are to be brought in pen drives.

The candidates should follow the general rules for smooth conduct of events.

Transport facility will not be available.

All correspondence regarding the event will be communicated through [email protected]

Accommodation & Food Facilities

Accommodation to the members of the 5 shortlisted teams will be provided at IIFM, Bhopal for 7th &

8th of October, 2017.

Our food facility will include tea & coffee break, breakfast, lunch and dinner during the Conclave.

Deadline for online registration & submission of executive summaries: 28-Sep-2017

Announcement for shortlisted teams: 30-Sep-2017

Deadline for online submission of Soft Copy (pdf + ppt) of Final B-Plan: 6-Oct-2017 (by 8pm)
