1 A Certain Man
Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and
behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose
loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
Dan. 10:5
The “Certain Man” Who appeared to
Daniel in royal and priestly robes was
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He appeared in such great brightness
and majesty, that Daniel was
astonished and fell to the ground.
When we truly appreciate the majesty
of Jesus, we too will fall on our face to
worship him!
4
2 A Certain Nobleman
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went
into a far country to receive for himself a
kingdom, and to return. And he called his
ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds,
and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
Luke 19:12
That “Certain Nobleman” is Jesus
Christ, Who established His kingdom
here on earth.
Jesus gives the gospel equally to each
believer.
We must occupy— which means “to
carry on the business” (of spreading
the gospel), until Christ returns.
5
3 A Certain Samaritan
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed,
came where he was: and when he saw him,
he had compassion [on him],
Luke 10:33
That “Certain Samaritan” was none
other than Our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ.
He is the Supreme example of
compassion.
Jesus is the Only One Who can help
those of us who have been beaten . . .
and have fallen down at the side of the
road.
No matter what our circumstances nor
what sins we have committed—He
will come to where we are, with love
and forgiveness, and will heal all of
our wounds.

4 A Corn of Wheat
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn
of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth
alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
John 12:24
The word corn actually means – “a
kernel.”
Christ is our spiritual “Corn of
Wheat.”
Just as a kernel of wheat will never
become a plant unless it "dies" and is
"buried," so was the death and burial
of Jesus necessary before He could be
resurrected.
His resurrection assures us that
everyone who seeks Him will receive
the gifts of eternal life and forgiveness
of sins.
Therefore, the salvation of many was
made possible by the dying of this
single “Corn of Wheat.”

5 A Friend That Sticketh Closer
Than A Brother
A man [that hath] friends must shew himself
friendly: and there is a friend [that] sticketh
closer than a brother.
Prov. 18:24
The meaning of the word friend is . . .
“love.”
No one will ever love us like Jesus!!!
And no one will ever “stick to us like
glue” in all of our times of trials and
tribulations like Our Lord and Savior.
8
6 A Man Approved of God
Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of
Nazareth, a man approved of God among you
by miracles and wonders and signs, which
God did by him in the midst of you, as ye
yourselves also know:
Acts 2:22
Approved means “to expose to view,
exhibit or to demonstrate.”
Jesus Christ in His human form was
sent by God to show or demonstrate
His love for us:
(For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn
the world; but that the world through him might be
saved. – John 3:17)
As we become more “Christ-like” and
mature in our Christian walk, we also
become approved of God.
9
7 A Man of Sorrows
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of
sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we
hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was
despised, and we esteemed him
not.
Is. 53:3
The definition for sorrows is: “both
mental and physical pain; grief.”
Jesus felt pain and grief for the fallen,
desperate condition of humanity.
Mankind refused to listen to His
loving gospel—which caused Jesus
such great pain then (and now)
because He loves us so much.
10
8 A Man That is Called Jesus
He answered and said, A man that is called
Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes,
and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam,
and wash: and I went and washed, and I
received sight.
John 9:11
The love and mercy of Our Lord and
Savior is so magnificent that He heals
those . . . who do not even know His
name!
11
9 A More Excellent Way
But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet
shew I unto you a more excellent way.
1 Cor. 12:31
Following the path that Jesus set is not
only “a more excellent way”. . . but it
is the ONLY way!!!
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and
the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but
by me.” – John 14:6
12
10 A Nail in a Sure Place
And I will fasten him [as] a nail in a sure
place; and he shall be for a glorious throne
to his father's house.
Is. 22:23
Jesus was the NAIL, and that sure
place . . . was the cross.
By allowing His Dearly Beloved Son
to be cruelly nailed to a cross, Our
Father God gave us access to His
glorious throne.
13
11 A Polished Shaft
And he hath made my mouth like a sharp
sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid
me, and made me a polished shaft; in his
quiver hath he hid me;
Is. 49:2
Jesus did not begin His ministry until
He was 30 years of age.
But up until that time, Jesus was being
polished and sharpened by God with
the knowledge and skills that He
would need to effectively witness to
the people.
However, God Our Father had to
“hide” Jesus’ true purpose and protect
Him until the time was right for Him
to begin preaching the Gospel.
14
12 A Priest For Ever
As he saith also in another [place], Thou [art]
a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Heb. 5:6
Melchizedek was the King of Salem
in the Old Testament and he was also
anointed a priest by God. There is no
mention of his death nor of another
man following in his footsteps:
“For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the
most high God . . . Without father, without mother,
without descent, having neither beginning of days,
nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God;
abideth a priest continually . . .” – Heb. 7:1-4
Our Lord Jesus is Our High Priest for
eternity!
His priesthood is compared to
Melchizedek’s: unending, having
neither beginning of days nor end of
life.
15
13 A Refiner
And he shall sit [as] a refiner and purifier of
silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and
purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer
unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
Mal. 3:3
A refiner is a “tester or an
examiner.”
We are as precious as silver to Our
Father.
However, before we can stand before
Him, we must be thoroughly refined
or tested for any impurities (sins).
Our Loving Refiner is Our Savior
Jesus Christ, Whose shed blood
cleanses and purifies us.
16
14 A Reproach of Men
But I [am] a worm, and no man; a reproach
of men, and despised of the people.
Ps. 22:6
Satan hates Jesus . . .
the world hates Jesus . . .
and even our own flesh hates Jesus!!!
However, Our Lord and Savior has
conquered all three enemies—and we
may confidently commit ourselves to
Him:
“Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy
thoughts shall be established.” – Prov. 16:3
17
15 A Servant of Rulers
Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel,
[and] his Holy One, to him whom man
despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth,
to a servant of rulers . . .
Is. 49:7
This title represents the suffering,
rejection, hatred, and humiliation of
Jesus by the rulers Herod and Pilate.
He suffered such punishment for us as
proof of His love.
18
16 A Shadow From the Heat
For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a
strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge
from the storm, a shadow from the heat,
when the blast of the terrible ones [is] as a
storm [against] the wall.
Is. 25:4
Shadow means “shade or
protection.”
Jesus is our “Shadow from the heat,”
which means He is our Protection
from the calamities or tribulations in
our lives.
We can always run to Our Lord and
Savior when things . . . “get too hot!”
19
17 A Sower
A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he
sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was
trodden down, and the fowls of the air
devoured it.
Luke 8:5
Jesus “sows” His seeds of love and
righteousness into our hearts.
However, the devil will snatch up the
gospel immediately if we do not resist
his attempts to destroy us.
20
18 A Star Out of Jacob
I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold
him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out
of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of
Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab,
and destroy all the children of Sheth.
Num. 24:17
“Star out of Jacob” is a title in the
Old Testament which refers to the
awaited Messiah or Deliverer.
This Messiah, we now know, is Our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
21
19 A Stone Cut Out Without
Hands
Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out
without hands, which smote the image upon
his feet [that were] of iron and clay, and
brake them to pieces.
Dan. 2:34
This “Stone Cut Out Without
Hands” is Our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ.
When Jesus returns, He will destroy
the world order (feet of iron and clay)
and establish His kingdom here on
earth.
22
20 A Stranger and An Alien
I am become a stranger unto my brethren,
and an alien unto my mother's children.
Ps: 69:8
Jesus’ own brothers did not believe in
Him and his friends thought He was
acting strangely!
“For neither did his brethren believe in him.”
John 7:5
“And when his friends heard of it, they went out to
lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside
himself.” – Mark 3:21
Jesus also viewed Himself as a “alien
on earth:”
“And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I
am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of
this world.” – John 8:2
23
21 A Teacher Come From God
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto
him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come
from God: for no man can do these miracles that
thou doest, except God be with him.
John 3:2
Teacher in this Scripture means -
“one who teaches concerning the
things of God, and the duties of man;
the one who showed men the way of
salvation.”
Jesus is Our Great Teacher Who
came from God!
Only He is capable of showing us the
way to eternal salvation:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and
the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by
me.”- John 14:6
24
22 A Tender Plant
For he shall grow up before him as a tender
plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he
hath no form nor comeliness; and when we
shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we
should desire him.
Is. 53:2
Jesus entered this world as a baby—
tender, weak and vulnerable.
But He grew up into a Mighty
Savior!!!
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and
in favour with God and man.” – Luke 2:52
25
23 A Tried Stone
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I
lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried
stone, a precious corner [stone], a sure
foundation he that believeth shall not make
haste.
Is. 28:16
Tried is defined as: “of proved
stability; suitable for a foundation of
a building.”
Jesus proved His suitability by
willingly laying down His life for our
salvation.
Therefore, He is the Only Stone
suitable enough to be the foundation
of our faith.
26
24 Above All Gods
For I know that the LORD [is] great, and
[that] our Lord [is] above all gods.
Ps. 135:5
The term “above all gods” is
translated “Elohiym,” the True God.
Now there are many gods that people
worship and serve, but they are not
living and they are not true.
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
ABOVE all of the gods that men have
ever made . . . and ABOVE all of the
gods that men have ever worshipped.
There is only One True Lord and One
True Savior—and His name is
Jesus!!!
27
25 Accursed of God
And if a man have committed a sin worthy of
death, and he be to be put to death, and thou
hang him on a tree: His body shall not
remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt
in any wise bury him that day;(for he that is
hanged [is] accursed of God;) that thy land
be not defiled, which the LORD thy God
giveth thee [for] an inheritance.
Deut. 21:22-23
Any man who was hung on a tree was
cursed of God.
Christ became a curse for us because
He took our sins upon Himself:
“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being
made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every
one that hangeth on a tree:”
Gal. 3:13
28
26 Advocate
My little children, these things write I unto
you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we
have an advocate with the Father, Jesus
Christ the righteous:
1 John 2:1
An Advocate - is defined as “one
who pleads another's cause; who
helps another by defending or
comforting him.”
Jesus is our Defense!
Jesus is our Comfort!
Jesus is our Advocate!
29
27 Almighty
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and
which was, and which is to come, the
Almighty.
Rev. 1:8
The Almighty means: “He who holds
sway over all things; the ruler of all.”
Jesus commands all the hosts and
powers in heaven and earth.
He is indeed Our Mighty Ruler of
All!
30
28 Alpha
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha
and Omega, the beginning and the end. I
will give unto him that is athirst of the
fountain of the water of life freely.
Rev. 21:6
“Alpha” is the first letter of the
Greek alphabet.
“Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I
[am] he; I [am] the first, I also [am] the last.”
Is. 48:12
Jesus is the beginning of all that we
need and the end of all that we need.
He is with us from our first breath
until our last.
From beginning to end, Jesus has
always existed and always will exist.
And if we believe on Him . . . He will
be with us for all eternity!
31
29 Altar
We have an altar, whereof they have no right
to eat which serve the tabernacle.
Heb. 13.10
The word Altar means: “a place of
sacrifice.”
Christ is Our Altar!
Those who continued to offer
sacrifices, or continue to put their
trust in rituals and sacraments
(serving the tabernacle) instead of
putting their trust in Christ Alone—
have no right to remission of sins.
32
30 Amen
And unto the angel of the church of the
Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the
faithful and true witness, the beginning of the
creation of God;
Rev. 3:14
The word Amen means: “firm, verily,
truly, faithful, so be it.”
We say Amen at the end of a prayer;
however, Jesus is Our Amen.
He is Our Prayer, He is Our Word.
Jesus is Our Faithful "so be it!"
33
31 Anchor of the Soul
Which [hope] we have as an anchor of the
soul, both sure and stedfast, and which
entereth into that within the veil;
Heb. 6:19
Anchor means “safeguard.”
When the spiritual seas get rough,
Jesus will hold onto us and keep our
souls (minds) safely afloat in His
grace.
34
32 Ancient of Days
Until the Ancient of days came, and
judgment was given to the saints of the most
High; and the time came that the saints
possessed the kingdom.
Dan. 7:22
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
existed from the beginning of all
time:
“And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine
own self with the glory which I had with thee
before the world was.” John 17:5
He will return and judge the whole
earth, starting with His church!
35
33 Angel
Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep
thee in the way, and to bring thee into the
place which I have prepared.
Ex. 23:20
The “Angel” referred to in the above
Scripture is Jesus Christ.
Not only does Our Lord and Savior
go before us to prepare a place for us
in heaven . . .
(In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it
were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you. - John 14:2)
. . . but He also guides us in the place
we walk in today.
36
34 Angel of God
And my temptation which was in my flesh ye
despised not, nor rejected; but received me as
an angel of God, [even] as Christ Jesus.
Gal. 4:14
Angel means "messenger."
Therefore, the “Angel of God” is the
"messenger of God," Jesus Christ.
He was sent by Our Father with the
important message of forgiveness,
love and hope.
No matter how many times we submit
to temptation, Jesus tells us that we
will not be despised by Him—nor by
Our Father.
37
35 Angel of His Presence
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the
angel of his presence saved them: in his love and
in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them,
and carried them all the days of old.
Is. 63:9
The Angel of His Presence means:
“the One Who stands before God
continually.”
This refers to Our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who continues to stand before Our
Father on our behalf.
38
36 Angel of the Lord
And there came an angel of the LORD, and
sat under an oak which [was] in Ophrah, that
[pertained] unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his
son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress,
to hide [it] from the Midianites;
Jud. 6:11
The appearance of the “Angel of the
Lord” to Gideon is called a
theophany.
This term is used for an Old
Testament appearance of Jesus Christ,
in human form, before His actual
“birth” in Bethlehem.
39
37
Anointed
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the
rulers take counsel together, against the
LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
Ps. 2:2
Anointed in the above Scripture
means: Messiah, or Messianic prince.
Anointing was a practice of the
shepherds. They poured oil on the
sheep's head to make the wool
slippery so that lice and other insects
could not get into the sheep's eyes or
ears.
From this practice, anointing became
a symbol of blessing, protection and
empowerment.
God's "Anointed" is our Messiah
Jesus Christ, Who was anointed by
God with the Holy Spirit to spread the
Good News and to free those who
have been held captive by sin.
40
38
Apostle
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the
heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and
High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
Heb. 3:1
An Apostle is “a person sent by
another; a messenger or envoy.”
Jesus Christ is God's Apostle, His
Beloved Messenger.
41
39 Ark of Thy Strength
Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting
place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests,
O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy
saints rejoice in goodness.
2 Chron. 6:21
The Ark of Thy Strength is the Ark
of the Covenant.
It is a symbol of God's presence and power.
Only Jesus Christ can truly represent
His Father’s “Presence:”
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a
son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being
interpreted is, God with us.” – Matt. 1:23
And only Jesus Christ can truly represent
His Father’s “Power :”
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth.”- Matt. 28:18
Through the presence and power of Jesus
Christ, we can all be clothed in salvation
and rejoice in goodness.
42
40 Author and Finisher of Our
Faith
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our]
faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured
the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the
right hand of the throne of God.
Heb. 12:2
The word author in this Scripture
means: “one that takes the lead in
anything; an example or a pioneer.”
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
the Premier Example of a Faithful Son.
He proved His faith by obeying His
Father’s every command.
The word finisher only occurs once
in the Bible. It means: “a perfector”
or “one who has in his own person raised
faith to its perfection and so set before us
the highest example of faith.”
Jesus is Our One and Only Perfector!
43
41 Author of Eternal Salvation
And being made perfect, he became the author of
eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Heb. 5:9
The word author in this Scripture
means: “that which is the cause of
anything.”
Obey is defined as – “to listen
attentively.”
It is because of Jesus shedding His
Precious blood for our sins that we are
able to be saved from eternal
damnation.
However, we must be obedient to our
Lord, and LISTEN ATTENTIVELY
to His Holy Word.
44
42 Babe
And this [shall be] a sign unto you; Ye shall
find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes,
lying in a manger.
Luke 2:12
Through his mother, Mary, (whose
father Heli was in the line of David),
the Baby Jesus was an actual
descendant of David—thus fulfilling
God's promise about the heritage of
the Messiah.
By allowing Christ to enter the world
as a human baby, God is showing us
the road to true salvation, which starts
with the need to be “re-born:”
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
John 3:3
45
43 Balm of Gilead
[Is there] no balm in Gilead; [is there] no
physician there? why then is not the health of
the daughter of my people recovered?
Jer. 8:22
This balm is a salve made from a tree
in Gilead, (a mountainous region of
Palestine, bounded on the west by the
Jordan River.)
This balm was used to soothe and heal
sores.
Jesus is Our Great Healer. He soothes
and cures whatever wounds we may
have—no matter how deep or how
painful.
46
44 Beginning
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning
and the end, the first and the last.
Rev. 22:13
Beginning in Greek means: “the first
person or thing in a series; the first
place, the leader, the origin; that by
which anything begins to be.”
Our Lord and Savior is the Beginning
of all things:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:1
47
45 Beginning of the Creation of
God
And unto the angel of the church of the
Laodiceans write; These things saith the
Amen, the faithful and true witness, the
beginning of the creation of God;
Rev. 3:14
Jesus is The Beginning of all
creation. He is the Origin of God's
creation and the creative force of
God.
He is The One in Whom all creation
had its beginning:
“All things were made by him; and without him was
not any thing made that was made.”
John 1:3
48
46 Blessed and Only Potentate
Which in his times he shall shew, [who is] the
blessed and only Potentate, the King of
kings, and Lord of lords; 1 Tim 6:15
Potentate means: “prince, high
officer, royal minister of great
authority.”
Jesus is the only One of “great
authority” Who is capable of
guaranteeing our salvation.
49
47 Blessed Hope
Looking for that blessed hope, and the
glorious appearing of the great God and our
Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 2:13
The term hope in this verse means:
“joyful and confident expectation of
eternal salvation.”
Without Our Blessed Savior, we have
no hope of eternal salvation.
50
48 Branch
And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh
the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man
whose name [is] The BRANCH; and he shall
grow up out of his place, and he shall build
the temple of the LORD:
Zec. 612
"Branch" refers to Jesus, the
Messiah from the Davidic tree:
“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I
will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a
King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute
judgment and justice in the earth.” - Jer. 23:5
Christ was anointed by God to build
His Temple, meaning the spiritual
temple consisting of the saints of all
ages joined together by and in Christ:
“Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this
temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
John 2:19
51
49 Bread of God
For the bread of God is he which cometh
down from heaven, and giveth life unto the
world.
John 6:33
The "Bread of God" is Our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ Who descended
from heaven and became flesh in
order for us to have eternal life:
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14
This Bread will sustain us so that we
will never hunger.
52
50 Bread of Life
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of
life: he that cometh to me shall never
hunger; and he that believeth on me shall
never thirst.
John 6:35
The Hebrews made bread in the form
of an oblong or round cake, as large
as a plate.
This bread was not to be cut or sliced
. . . but broken before eaten.
When we believe in Jesus, we can
partake of this “bread,” this spiritual
nourishment—but first, we have to be
“broken” of our sins and re-formed in
His image.
As we continue to partake of “The
Bread of Life,” our hunger and thirst
for fleshly lusts and pleasures will
diminish.
53
51 Breastplate of Righteousness
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about
with truth, and having on the breastplate of
righteousness;
Eph. 6:14
A soldier’s breastplate covered all the
vital organs of the body, including the
heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver.
Our hearts need special protection
from the attacks of Satan.
The “Breastplate of Righteousness”
that protects us from these attacks is
the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
We are not looked upon by Our
Father God as righteous by what we
have said or done.
Instead, God sees us as righteous by
what Jesus has done!
54
52 Bridegroom
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but
the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth
and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of
the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore
is fulfilled.
John 3:29
Jesus refers to Himself as the
“Bridegroom,” and His “bride” is the
church—meaning all those who
believe in Him:
“The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, believers)
say, “Come…” - Rev. 22:17 (AMP)
The friend of the bridegroom is John
the Baptist.
All believers are also friends of the
Bridegroom just like John.
We all can rejoice greatly when we
hear Our Bridegroom’s voice!
55
53 Bright and Morning Star
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto
you these things in the churches. I am the
root and the offspring of David, [and] the
bright and morning star.
Rev. 22:16
The “morning star” announces and
ushers in the day. It displays its
maximum brightness shortly before
sunrise.
This is what Christ represents. He is
the “Bright and Morning Star,” who
announces and ushers in every one of
our days.
He is our Maximum Brightness . . .
Who illuminates all the darkness in
our lives.
56
54 Brightness of His Glory
Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and
the express image of his person, and
upholding all things by the word of his
power, when he had by himself purged our
sins, sat down on the right hand of the
Majesty on high;
Heb. 1:3
Jesus is not a mere reflection of God's
brightness.
He is actually the very essence of the
brightness of God's glory Who came
down to live among us.
Our Savior is the light of God to all
humanity.
57
55 Brother
Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the
brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda,
and Simon? and are not his sisters here with
us? And they were offended at him.
Mark 6:3
At one time every believer belonged
to the family of the devil.
When we became saved through the
precious blood of Our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ, we became
members of His Holy Family—and
He became “Our Most Blessed
Brother!”
58
56 Buckler
[As for] God, his way [is] perfect: the word
of the LORD is tried: he [is] a buckler to all
those that trust in him.
Ps. 18:30
The buckler in this verse refers to a
small, light shield carried by the
Hebrew infantry for hand-to-hand
combat.
Sometime, the enemies that are the
hardest to see . . . are the ones that
are closest to us!
The spilled blood of Our Precious
Savior protects us from even our
closest enemies.
59
57 Bundle of Myrrh
A bundle of myrrh [is] my wellbeloved unto
me . . .
Songs 1:13
Myrrh is a very expensive Arabian
gum from the bark of a Northeastern
African shrub. It was used to prepare
the sacred oils used for rituals and
included in perfumes.
The presence of Jesus in our hearts
brings a precious sweetness and long-
lasting fragrance to our lives.
60
58 Camphire
My beloved [is] unto me [as] a cluster of
camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.
Songs 1:14
Camphire is a shrub bearing lovely,
fragrant flowers which produce the
dye henna.
The word also means: “the price of a
life, ransom or bribe.”
Our Lovely Savior Jesus Christ paid
the price of our redemption with His
life.
61
59 Captain of the Lord’s Host
And the captain of the LORD'S host said
unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot;
for the place whereon thou standest [is] holy.
And Joshua did so. Jos. 5:14
A "host" in the Bible is an unseen
army, invisible to the human eye—
that surrounds the throne of God.
The Great Captain of Our Father’s
army is none other than His Beloved
Son, Our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ.
62
60 Captain of Their Salvation
For it became him, for whom [are] all things,
and by whom [are] all things, in bringing
many sons unto glory, to make the captain of
their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Heb. 2:10
The Greek term Captain in this
Scripture means: “one that takes the
lead in any thing and thus affords an
example; a predecessor in a matter;
the author.”
Our Captain Jesus Christ is God’s
prime example of righteousness.
He is the Great Author of our
salvation . . . made possible only
through His suffering for our sins.
63
61 Carpenter
Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the
brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and
Simon? and are not his sisters here with us?
And they were offended at him.
Mark 6:3
A carpenter is a: “worker in wood; a
joiner or builder.”
Men are represented as trees
throughout Scripture.
Jesus is the Carpenter Who skillfully
crafts our lives from the rough bark
and twisted branches which we once
were . . . into His Perfect Image.
64
62 Carpenter’s Son
Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his
mother called Mary? and his brethren,
James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
Matt. 13:55
God is our Great Carpenter, the One
who created and formed us. He is The
Almighty Who built the world and
everything in it.
Jesus is the Carpenter's Son, the Son
of the Master Builder:
“For he looked for a city which hath foundations,
whose builder and maker [is] God.” - Heb. 11:10
65
63 Chief Cornerstone
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I
lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he
that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
1 Pet. 2:6
A cornerstone (also called the corner
foundation stone) is the important
first stone set in the construction of a
granite foundation. All other stones
will be set in reference to this stone,
thus determining the position of the
entire building.
This is a perfect description of Jesus!
As Our Lord and Savior, He is the
Precious Rock upon which our faith
must be built.
Jesus is the corner foundation stone
upon which the church is established.
If it is not, the church will have no
foundation and no stability.
66
64 Chief Shepherd
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye
shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not
away.
1 Pet. 5:4
This passage teaches that Jesus is the
Chief or Supreme Shepherd Who
looks after us. He watches intently so
He may supply whatever we need.
In Biblical times, the responsibilities
of the shepherd included:
watching for enemies trying to attack
the sheep,
defending the sheep from attackers,
healing the wounded and sick sheep,
finding the lost or trapped sheep,
feeding and caring for the sheep.
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
the Chief Shepherd . . . Who intently
watches, defends, heals, finds, feeds,
and cares for His flock (the church).
67
65 Chiefest Among Ten
Thousand
My beloved [is] white and ruddy, the
chiefest among ten thousand.
Songs 5:10
Ten thousand is the largest number in
the Hebrew language.
Chiefest means "standard-bearer" or
the one privileged to carry the banner
or flag in battle.
In a procession, only the finest is
chosen to be the standard-bearer.
Jesus Christ is the Finest One . . . the
only One worthy to stand before the
children of God and carry the banner
of righteousness.
He is the example Whom we all must
follow.
68
66 Child
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is
given: and the government shall be upon his
shoulder . . .
Is. 9:6
Jesus Christ is the “Child” whose
birth was prophesized by Isaiah.
He is the Holy Son given to us as a
gift from Our Father.
Government means dominion or rule.
Only the Child Jesus Christ—has
dominion or total authority to rule.
69
67 Child of the Holy Ghost
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this
wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused
to Joseph, before they came together, she was
found with child of the
Holy Ghost.
Matt. 1:18
The “Immaculate Conception”
which occurred within Mary’s womb
could only have been conceived by
the Holy Spirit.
God breathed His Holy Spirit into
Mary’s womb to bring life to Jesus—
in the same way He breathed His
Spirit into Adam to bring him life.
70
68 Chosen of God
And the people stood beholding. And the
rulers also with them derided [him], saying,
He saved others; let him save himself, if he be
Christ, the chosen of God.
Luke 23:35
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
the One specifically “chosen” or
appointed by God to accomplish
God's purposes and plans.
Although He could have saved
Himself at any time, Jesus did not—
for He knew that His death was
needed to complete God’s plan for
redemption for all of His children.
71
69 Christ
And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of
Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called
Christ. Matt. 1:16
Christ means "anointed" in the Greek
language.
In the Old Testament, kings, priests
and prophets were all anointed with
chrism (perfumed oil) to consecrate
them to their respective offices.
Jesus The Christ was consecrated to
His office as Savior by the anointing
of the Holy Ghost.
72
70 Christ Jesus
And the peace of God, which passeth all
understanding, shall keep your hearts
and minds through Christ Jesus.
Phil. 4:7
Christ Jesus literally means the
“Anointed Savior of mankind.”
We can receive God’s peace for our
lives by believing on Our Anointed
Savior.
73
71 Christ Jesus Our Lord
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath
enabled me, for that he counted me
faithful, putting me into the ministry;
1 Tim 1:12
Our Lord in this Scripture is a title
which means: “he to whom a person
or thing belongs.”
The definition of enabled is: “to be
strengthened.”
We belong to Christ Jesus and He
alone is Our Lord.
Only Jesus can strengthen us and help
us to overcome whatever trials and
tribulations we must face:
“I can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me.” – Phil. 4:13
74
72 Christ of God
He said unto them, But whom say ye that I
am? Peter answering said,
The Christ of God.
Luke 9:20
Jesus is The Christ of God . . .
meaning He is “The Anointed” of
God.
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy
Ghost and with power: who went about doing good,
and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for
God was with him.” – Acts 10:38
75
73 Christ the King
Let Christ the King of Israel descend now
from the cross, that we may see and believe.
And they that were crucified with him reviled
him.
Mark 15:32
Our Lord Jesus Christ is a King!
He is the Messianic King!
Christ is the King whom God has sent
to reign over us!
76
74 Christ the Lord
For unto you is born this day in the city of
David a Saviour, which is
Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11
The birth of Baby Jesus was
announced by an angel.
He was declared to be Our Savior and
Our Master, both “Christ and Lord!”
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly,
that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have
crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Acts 2:36
77
75 Christ the Son of God
But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest
answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by
the living God, that thou tell us whether thou
be the Christ, the Son of God.
Matt. 26:63
This is the question we must all
answer within our hearts . . . Is Christ
the Son of God?
Jesus will not answer that question for
us; He will continue to “hold His
peace.”
However, when we come to know
that Jesus Christ is the true Son of
God—then and only then will He
begin to speak to us through His Holy
Spirit.
78
76 Christ the Wisdom of God
But unto them which are called, both Jews
and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the
wisdom of God.
1 Cor. 1:24
The Greek word for wisdom means:
“supreme intelligence, such as
belongs to God.”
God's wisdom is not man's wisdom
multiplied to the highest degree. It is
of a different order altogether.
Only Jesus Christ possesses this
wisdom—because only He knows the
true mind of God.
79
77 Companion
I [am] a companion of all [them] that fear
thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.
Ps. 119:63
Jesus is our closest “Companion.”
He is a Friend to all who love and
obey His Father.
80
78 Consolation of Israel
And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem,
whose name [was] Simeon; and the same
man [was] just and devout, waiting for the
consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost
was upon him.
Luke 2:25
Consolation means: “that which
affords comfort or refreshment.”
Jesus is Our Comforter, Our
Refresher!
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your
sins may be blotted out, when the times of
refreshing shall come from the presence of the
Lord;” Acts 3:19
81
79 Counselor
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is
given: and the government shall be upon his
shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The
everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Is. 9:6
A counselor is “one who gives
advice, help, and direction.”
We can pray to Jesus for counsel or
advice in all matters of our lives.
82
80 Covenant
I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will
hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a
covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
Is. 42:6
A covenant is an alliance between
God and man.
Therefore, Christ Himself is “Our
Covenant.”
A covenant of the people is also called
the "covenant of grace" because God
freely offers unto all sinners life and
salvation by Jesus Christ.
To gain this precious salvation, man's
participation in the covenant requires
him to have faith in Jesus, Our Lord
and Savior, so that he can be saved.
God's participation in the covenant is
a promise to give eternal life unto all
those that believe on the mighty name
of Jesus.
83
81 Covert From the Tempest
And a man shall be as an hiding place from
the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as
rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow
of a great rock in a weary land.
Is. 32:2
Covert means “shelter or protection.”
A tempest is a great storm such as a
blizzard or hurricane.
Jesus is Our Shelter from the storms
of life:
“For thou hast been a shelter for me, [and] a strong
tower from the enemy.” – Ps. 61:3
84
82 Creator of Israel
I [am] the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of
Israel, your King.
Is. 43:15
The definition of Israel is: “a
contender; a soldier of God.”
Jesus is creating a whole army of
believers, armed with His Holy Spirit,
and prepared to preach the gospel
despites the attacks of the forces of
evil.
85
83 Creator of the Ends of the
Earth
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard,
[that] the everlasting God, the LORD, the
Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not,
neither is weary? [there is] no searching of
his understanding.
Is 40:28
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
created the whole earth!
“He was in the world, and the world was
made by him, and the world knew him not.”
John 1:10
He never gets weak or weary and his
wisdom is unsearchable.
Therefore, He is totally in COMPLETE
CONTROL!!!
86
84 Crown and Diadem
In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a
crown of glory, and for a diadem of
beauty, unto the residue of his people,
Is. 28:5
A crown is a reward of victory or
mark of honor.
The diadem is a royal headband worn
by kings as a badge or symbol of
royalty and power. It could be plain,
embroidered with gold, or set with
pearls and precious stones.
For believers, the “Crown of Glory”
and the “Diadem of Beauty” is Our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is “Our Reward of Victory” and
“Our Symbol of Power!”
Therefore, Jesus is the only One Who
qualifies to wear both crown and
diadem!
87
85 Crown of Rejoicing
For what [is] our hope, or joy, or crown of
rejoicing? [Are] not even ye in the presence
of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
1 Thess. 2:19
Jesus represents Our “Crown of
Rejoicing.”
We can rejoice in the eternal
blessings which will be given as a
reward to the genuine servants of God
when Christ returns.
88
86 Day Star
We have also a more sure word of prophecy;
whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as
unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until
the day dawn, and the day star arise in your
hearts:
2 Pet. 1:19
A daystar is – “a star which precedes
and accompanies the sunrise.”
Having the Day Star arise in your
heart is to have Jesus in your
soul—bringing spiritual light and
comfort to the darkest regions of your
heart.
89
87 Daysmen
Neither is there any daysman betwixt us,
[that] might lay his hand upon us both.
Job 9:33
A daysman was a - “mediator,
umpire, arbiter, or judge.”
He was empowered by mutual
consent to arbitrate or settle a dispute
and could impose his authority and
enforce sentence.
Since Jesus Christ is both God and
Lord, only He can be our Daysman.
Only He can both decide our cause
and pronounce our sentence.
90
88
Dayspring
Through the tender mercy of our God;
whereby the dayspring from on high hath
visited us,
Luke 1:78
Dayspring means: “daybreak, dawn
of the morning or the rising of the sun
in the east.”
Jesus Christ is our Sun which arises
on a dark world every morning.
Since He was in the flesh, He could
only “visit” us for a short time
because . . . He could not stay.
91
89 Dear Son
Who hath delivered us from the power of
darkness, and hath translated [us] into the
kingdom of his dear Son:
Col. 1:13
The term dear in this Scripture
means: “the love of God toward
Christ.”
Jesus Christ is the “Dear Son” of
God.
Jesus is dearly loved by His Father. In
fact, no father ever loved his son
more.
This fact makes His death all the
more unspeakable—and God’s love
for us all the more incredible:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.” - John 3:16
92
90
Deliverer
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is
written, There shall come out of Sion the
Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness
from Jacob:
Rom. 11:26
In Greek, the definition of Deliverer
means: “to draw to one's self.”
Jesus delivers us from evil by calling
us to Him:
“And the Lord shall deliver me from every
evil work, and will preserve [me] unto his
heavenly kingdom: to whom [be] glory for
ever and ever. Amen.” - 2 Tim. 4:18
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will
draw all [men] unto me.” - John 12:31
93
91 Desire of All Nations
And I will shake all nations, and the desire of
all nations shall come: and I will fill this
house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
Hag. 2:7
After being “shaken” or undergoing
the wrath of God, all nations and all
the people in the world will be
seeking peace.
Since Our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ is the “Prince of Peace,” He
will be the object of our desires.
94
92 Discerner
For the word of God [is] quick, and
powerful, and sharper than any twoedged
sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder
of soul and spirit, and of the joints and
marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts
and intents of the heart.
Heb. 4:12
A discerner is “one who is fit for judging,
skilled in judging and passing judgment
on the thoughts of the mind; one who is
capable of discriminating between good
and evil.”
Jesus Christ is the only One Who is
fit, skilled and capable of dividing the
“spirit” from the “soul” . . . thereby
determining our true intents.
One day, we will all stand before Our
Lord and Savior to be JUDGED
according to the content of our hearts!
95
93 Door of the Sheep
Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily,
verily, I say unto you, I am the door
of the sheep.
John 10:7
A field sheep pen was an enclosure
for sheep with only one entrance—a
door through which the sheep can go
in and out.
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
the only “Door” through which we
“sheep” can enter into heaven.
96
94 Dreadful
But cursed [be] the deceiver, which hath in
his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth
unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I [am] a
great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my
name [is] dreadful among the heathen.
Mal. 1:14
Dreadful in Hebrew means: “to
inspire reverence or godly fear; to
cause astonishment and awe.”
At the name of Jesus . . . every knee
shall bow on Judgment Day.
Both the saved and the unsaved shall
be astonished and in awe of Our
Great “KING OF KINGS!”
97
95 Dwelling Place
Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all
generations.
Ps. 90:1
Dwelling place is defined as: “a
refuge or a place of safety.”
People of all ages can run to Jesus
during times of trouble.
He alone is our “Refuge.”
98
96 Emmanuel
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring
forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel,
which being interpreted is, God with us.
Matt. 1:23
The name Emmanuel is defined as
“God with us.”
It is a title of Jesus that refers to His
divine nature joined with His human
nature.
Therefore, His very name signifies
that Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
is both GOD (God with us) . . . and
MAN (God with us)!
99
97 Ensign
And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse,
which shall stand for an ensign of the people;
to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall
be glorious.
Is. 11:10
An ensign was something that was
lifted up for the people to see—such
as a banner, signal pole, sail, sign, or
standard.
Jesus Christ Himself said that if we as
believers "lift Him up" by spreading
the gospel, His inward spiritual power
would be able to influence them and
win over their hearts to Him:
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will
draw all [men] unto me.” - John 12:32
100
98 Equal with God
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not
robbery to be equal with God:
Phil. 2:6
There is only One Person Who can be
considered “equal with God” . . . and
that Person is Jesus Christ.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:1
101
99 Eternal Life
(For the life was manifested, and we have
seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto
you that eternal life, which was with the
Father, and was manifested unto us;)
1 John 1:2
Jesus is “Our Eternal Life.”
By believing in Him, we are
guaranteed an everlasting existence
with Our Heavenly Father, when our
life on this earth is over.
102
100 Everlasting Father
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is
given: and the government shall be upon his
shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The
everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Is. 9:6
Father in this Scripture also means:
“producer or generator.”
Jesus is the Producer of all eternity.
His spilled blood gave us spiritual life
and guarantees that we have an
everlasting covenant with God.
103
101 Everlasting Light
The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither
for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee:
but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting
light, and thy God thy glory.
Is. 60:19
The word “light” in this Scripture is
used of an unconscious person when
he begins to recover.
Jesus is our Everlasting Light, the
only One Who can guide us out of the
darkness of sin and confusion.
When we come to our senses or
awaken from our “comatose” sinful
state and ask Jesus to save us . . . He
will gradually open our eyes so that
we can perceive His LIGHT!
104
102 Express Image of His Person
Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the
express image of his person, and upholding all
things by the word of his power, when he had by
himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand
of the Majesty on high;
Heb. 1:3
The Greek word for express image is
“charaktēr.” This word occurs only once
in the Scriptures and it means: “a stamp,
facsimile or precise reproduction.”
This word also means: “the
instrument used for engraving or
carving.”
Jesus has the “character” of God.
Therefore, He is the instrument which
God uses to mold our Christian
characters:
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did
predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his
Son…” – Rom. 8:29
105
103 Faithful and True
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white
horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called
Faithful and True, and in righteousness he
doth judge and make war.
Rev. 19:11
The term faithful is used of persons
who: “show themselves trustworthy in
the transaction of business, the
execution of commands, or the
discharge of official duties.”
True means “real, or genuine.”
Jesus is the Faithful and True . . . the
Real, Trustworthy and Genuine Son
of God!
106
104 Faithful Witness
And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful
witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead,
and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto
him that loved us, and washed us from our
sins in his own blood,
Rev. 1:5
A witness is “a faithful interpreter of
God’s counsel.”
All of the things which Jesus knew of
the Father, He faithfully made known
to His children.
107
105 First and Last
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And
he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me,
Fear not; I am the first and the last:
Rev. 1:17
Jesus is the First by creation:
“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans
write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true
witness, the beginning of the creation of God;”
Rev. 3:14
And Jesus is the “Last” by
resurrection:
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and
the life: he that believeth in me, though he were
dead, yet shall he live:” – John 1:25
108
106 First Begotten
And again, when he bringeth in the
firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let
all the angels of God worship him.
Heb. 1:6
Firstbegotten means: “first in honor
and position.”
God placed His Beloved Son above
all the other creatures which He had
created.
Even the angels honor Jesus through
their worship.
109
107 First Begotten of the Dead
And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful
witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead,
and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto
him that loved us, and washed us from our
sins in his own blood,
Rev. 1:5
Jesus was the first Person Who was
ever resurrected.
And He is Pre-eminent or Greatest
among all those who are or will be
resurrected:
“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is
the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in
all [things] he might have the preeminence.”
Col. 1:18
110
108 Firstborn of Every Creature
Who is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn of every creature:
Col. 1:15
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
the First Person Who came into
being through God . . . prior to the
entire universe of created things.
Therefore, Jesus is considered to be
the first Person Who was ever
“born:”
“Also I will make him [my] firstborn, higher than
the kings of the earth.” - Ps. 89:27
111
109 Firstfruits
But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and]
become the firstfruits of them that slept.
1 Cor. 15:20
The “firstfruit” was the earliest ripe
harvest presented to God as a
sacrifice.
By virtue of His resurrection, Jesus
became the Firstfruit of all that had
died.
112
110 Forerunner
Whither the forerunner is for us entered,
[even] Jesus, made an high priest forever
after the order of Melchisedec.
Heb. 6:20
A forerunner is: “one who is sent in
advance to take observations, acting
as scouts, especially in military
matters; or one who is sent to see that
the way was prepared.”
Christ was resurrected and went in
advance of His followers to prepare a
place for them in heaven:
“In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it
were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a
place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that
where I am, [there] ye may be also.” - John 14:2-3
113
111 Fortress
I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and
my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Ps. 91:2
Fortress means: “stronghold or fort.”
We can always put our trust in Jesus
to be our Stronghold and everlasting
Fortress!
“The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble;
and he knoweth them that trust in him.” Nah. 1:7
114
112 Foundation
For other foundation can no man lay than
that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Cor. 3:11
A foundation is the lowest part of a
building on which it rests.
It also means: “an institution or
system of truth.”
We all must have the truth of Jesus
Christ as the foundation of our faith.
Nothing and no one else is as solid or
unmovable as Our Lord:
“He is like a man which built an house, and digged
deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the
flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that
house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon
a rock.” – Luke 6:48
115
113 Fountain
In that day there shall be a fountain opened
to the house of David and to the inhabitants
of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
Zec. 13:1
The Hebrew word fountain in this
Scripture means: “a source of life.”
Jesus is the source of all life:
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and
the life: he that believeth in me, though he were
dead, yet shall he live:” - John 11:25
116
114 Friend
. . . This [is] my beloved, and this [is] my
friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
Songs 5:16
WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN
JESUS!
No one can be a closer, more loving
and devoted Friend than a Person
Who would lay down His life for you:
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay
down his life for his friends.”
John 15:13
117
115 Friend of Publicans and
Sinners
The Son of man came eating and drinking,
and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and
a winebibber, a friend of publicans and
sinners. But wisdom is justified of her
children.
Matt. 11:19
Publicans were tax collectors. They
were detested because of the
roughness, greed, and deception, with
which they did their jobs.
Jesus is a Friend of both publicans
and sinners. His spilled blood
provides the only way for them to
come before Our Holy Father:
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Rom. 5:8
118
116 Fuller’s Soap
But who may abide the day of his coming?
and who shall stand when he appeareth? for
he [is] like a refiner's fire, and like fullers'
soap:
Mal. 3:2
A “fuller” was someone who cleaned
and thickened freshly-woven cloth.
The process involved cleaning,
bleaching, wetting, and beating the
fibers to a consistent and desirable
condition. They used a very strong
lye-based soap for this purpose.
Christ has come to thoroughly cleanse
and purge us of all of our impurities:
“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me,
and I shall be whiter than snow.” Ps. 51:7
119
117 Gift of God
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou
knewest the gift of God, and who it is that
saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou
wouldest have asked of him, and he would
have given thee living water.
John 4:10
Our Father God loves us so much that
He gave us the Greatest Gift
imaginable, namely His Only
Begotten Son.
When we receive this Blessed Gift—
we will have eternal life:
“For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God
[is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Rom. 6:23
120
118 Glory of their Strength
For thou [art] the glory of their strength:
and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
Ps. 89:17
Our Lord and Savior is the Glorious
Source of our power and might!
Whenever we feel too weak to go
on—we can always call on Jesus for
strength.
121
119 Glory of Thy People Israel
A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory
of thy people Israel.
Luke 2:32
Glory means: “the kingly majesty of
the Messiah.”
This term describes the absolutely
perfect majesty of Christ:
His magnificence,
His excellence,
His preeminence,
His dignity,
His grace.
122
120 God Blessed Forever
Whose [are] the fathers, and of whom as
concerning the flesh Christ [came], who is
over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
Rom. 9:5
Because of His faithfulness, Jesus
will be blessed by His Father for the
rest of eternity.
And if we believe in His Son, God
will bless us forever as well!
123
121 God Manifest in the Flesh
And without controversy great is the mystery
of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh,
justified in the Spirit, seen of angels,
preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the
world, received up into glory.
1 Tim. 3:16
Jesus is God in human form, meaning
that He is God the Son, the Second
Person of the Holy Trinity!
Through His mother Mary, Jesus was
born as a human and sent by Our
Father for the redemption of the sins
of all mankind.
And there should be no controversy
or debate about this fact.
So, even though it may seem to be a
great mystery as to exactly how God
could become flesh—those of us who
believe this mystery without question,
will have eternal life.
124
122 God of the Whole Earth
For thy Maker [is] thine husband; the LORD
of hosts [is] his name; and thy Redeemer the
Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole
earth shall he be called.
Is. 54:5
Jesus truly has the whole world in His
hands.
And on judgment day the whole earth
will kneel before Him.
125
123 God of Truth
[He is] the Rock, his work [is] perfect: for all
his ways [are] judgment: a God of truth and
without iniquity, just and right [is] he.
Deut. 32:4
The term truth in this Scripture means:
“firmness, fidelity, steadfastness.”
There is no one more steadfast or
faithful than Our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ.
He is Our Truth:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:6
126
124 Good Master
And, behold, one came and said unto him,
Good Master, what good thing shall I do,
that I may have eternal life?
Matt. 19:16
The definition of Master is: “one who
teaches concerning the things of God,
and the duties of man.”
Our Good and Excellent Teacher is
Jesus Christ, Who teaches us all
things about Our Father:
“It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all
taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard,
and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.”
John 6:45
127
125 Good Shepherd
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd
giveth his life for the sheep.
John 10:11
The term good means: “excellent in
its nature and characteristics, and
therefore well adapted to its ends;
genuine, approved, precious,
praiseworthy, noble.”
Our Genuine, Approved, Excellent
Precious, and Noble Lord Jesus Christ
is our Good Shepherd and worthy to
be praised!
128
126 Goodness
My goodness, and my fortress; my high
tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and [he]
in whom I trust; who subdueth my people
under me.
Ps. 144:2
The definition of goodness is:
“faithfulness, love, and kindness.”
Jesus has proved His goodness and
faithfulness to Our Father and His
love toward us by His death on the
cross.
129
127 Governor
And thou Bethlehem, [in] the land of Juda,
art not the least among the princes of Juda:
for out of thee shall come a Governor, that
shall rule my people Israel.
Matt. 2:6
Governor means “a prince of regal
power.”
Baby Jesus was sent unto this world
to rule with majesty.
He was equipped with the power over
all the dark forces and will one day
reign supreme!
130
128 Great High Priest
Seeing then that we have a great high priest,
that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son
of God, let us hold fast [our] profession.
Heb. 4:14
The high priest was the only one
allowed to enter into the sacred holy
sanctuary.
Christ became Our Great High Priest
by His death.
When He was resurrected, Jesus
entered into the heavenly sanctuary
where He continually intercedes on
our behalf.
131
129 Great King
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool:
neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the
great King.
Matt. 5:35
The title king in this Scripture means:
“leader of the people; prince, commander,
lord of the land.”
Christ, Our Great King:
Our Leader!
Our Commander!
Our Prince!
Our Lord!
132
130 Great Light
The people that walked in darkness have seen
a great light: they that dwell in the land of
the shadow of death, upon them hath the light
shined.
Is. 9:2
When we live in sin and darkness,
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
Our “Great Light.”
He alone can lead us out of the
shadow of death and into everlasting
life.
133
131 Great Prophet
And there came a fear on all: and they
glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is
risen up among us; and, That God hath
visited his people.
Ps. 89:17
The term “Prophet” in this Scripture
is a reference to the Messiah.
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
the Great Prophet that we have been
looking for.
Visited means: “to look upon in order
to help or to benefit.”
Jesus is the proof of God’s desire to
help His children.
134
132 Great Reward
After these things the word of the LORD
came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear
not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy
exceeding great reward.
Gen. 15:1
The definition of Reward is:
“payment of contract; fare, fee,
passage-money.”
Jesus is “Our Great Reward!”
He willingly gave His Life as the fare
or passage-money for our trip to
heaven.
And He even exceeded beyond paying
this price—by securing the payment
for the contract or covenant between
God and mankind.
135
133 Great Shepherd of the Sheep
Now the God of peace, that brought again
from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great
shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of
the everlasting covenant,
Heb. 13:20
We are all like sheep, needing a Great
Shepherd to lead us away from
danger and into safety.
We can trust Our Great shepherd not
to lead us astray!
136
134 Guest
And when they saw [it], they all murmured,
saying, That he was gone to be guest with a
man that is a sinner.
Luke 19:7
When you invite Jesus to be a Guest
in your heart, He will purify you.
It will not matter who or what you
are, for after Jesus lodges within you
. . . a permanent and glorious
transformation takes place.
Therefore, Jesus is one Guest that
you will never want to leave!!!
137
135 Harmless
For such an high priest became us, [who is]
holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from
sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Heb. 7:26
The term harmless in this Scripture
means “free from guilt.”
Christ was not guilty of any crime—
yet He allowed Himself to be hung on
a cross and crucified . . .
BECAUSE WE WERE GUILTY!!!
138
136 He That Blotted Out Thy
Transgressions
I, [even] I, [am] he that blotteth out thy
transgressions for mine own sake, and will
not remember thy sins.
Is. 43:25
Blotteth is defined as: “to wipe out or
exterminate.”
By shedding His precious blood,
Jesus blotted or wiped out all of our
sins—past, present and future!!!
139
137 He That Cometh After Me
John bare witness of him, and cried, saying,
This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh
after me is preferred before me: for he was
before me.
John 1:15
Although Jesus was born after John
the Baptist, Our Lord was the true
Messiah Who existed before the
world was created:
“But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb
without blemish and without spot: Who verily was
foreordained before the foundation of the world,
but was manifest in these last times for you,”
1 Pet. 1:19-20
140
138 He That Hath the Key of
David
And to the angel of the church in
Philadelphia write; These things saith he
that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the
key of David, he that openeth, and no man
shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
Rev. 3:7
The person who holds the keys of
David is: “one who has the power to
receive others into the kingdom of
God or exclude from it.”
We all must stand before Jesus on
Judgment Day.
Jesus alone is the keeper of the keys
and of the doors of God’s Kingdom.
Therefore, only He has the power to
open and to close.
141
139 He That is True
And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia
write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is
true, he that hath the key of David . . .
Rev. 3:7
The term true in this Scripture is
defined as: “real or genuine.”
The Name of Jesus means “Jehovah
is salvation.”
This means that Our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ is the only One Who can
give us salvation.
Therefore, Jesus’ Name does actually
correspond to His real and genuine
nature—and the reason He was sent
to this earth:
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his
name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their
sins.” – Matt. 1:21
142
140 He That Liveth
I [am] he that liveth, and was dead; and,
behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and
have the keys of hell and of death.
Rev. 1:18
Liveth means: “endless in the
kingdom of God; having vital power
in itself and exerting the same upon
the soul.”
Because of His resurrection, Our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ is truly alive
forever more.
He has endless power and authority
vested in Him as the Son of God.
143
141 He That Made Me Whole
He answered them, He that made me whole,
the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and
walk.
John 5:11
Jesus will heal all the broken pieces
of your life, no matter how shattered
it may be.
He will make us whole and restore us
to health physically, emotionally and
spiritually—if we would just have
faith and believe in Him.
144
142 He That Shall Come
For yet a little while, and he that shall come
will come, and will not tarry.
Heb. 10:37
The promise to return which Jesus
made when He left earth is the
bedrock of our faith:
“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which
thou hast, that no man take thy crown.”
Rev. 3:11
In due time, Our Lord and Savior
shall come again!!!
145
143 He Whom God Hath Sent
For he whom God hath sent speaketh the
words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit
by measure unto him.
John 3.34
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was
purposefully SENT by God to
prophesize His message to mankind.
Now, although there had been many
previous prophets—the Holy Spirit
was only given to them by a
measured amount or in a limited
portion.
However, Jesus has the Holy Spirit
. . . without measure!
It was this unmeasured pouring of the
Spirit upon Him which accounts for
Jesus being able to speak the words of
God.
146
144 He Whom God Raised Again
But he, whom God raised again, saw no
corruption.
Acts 13:34
On the third day after He was
crucified, Jesus was The One “raised
from the death of sleep” by His
Father God!
The resurrection of Christ was the
great proof of His being the Son of
God.
Therefore, it was not possible that He
should be held by death.
147
145 Head
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up
into him in all things, which is the head,
[even] Christ:
Eph. 4:15
The “head” is “anything supreme,
chief, or prominent.”
Christ is the Head of the Church of
God, and all believers are members.
148
146
Heir
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by
[his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all
things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Heb. 1:2
The definition of heir in this Scripture
is: “one who receives his allotted
possession by right of sonship.”
We belong to Jesus for He is the True
Son of God, His Holy Heir:
“I have manifested thy name unto the men which
thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were,
and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy
word.” – John 17:6
149
147 Helmet of Salvation
And take the helmet of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph. 6:17
Helmet is this Scripture is defined as:
“the protection of the soul.”
The soul is the mind.
Therefore, we must put on the
protection of Our Savior as we resist
the demon forces which attack our
minds.
150
148 Her Firstborn
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and
wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid
him in a manger; because there was no room
for them in the inn.
Luke 2:7
Because of her obedience, Mary was
given the awesome reward of being
the mother of the Savior of the world.
Therefore, her firstborn Son was also
the firstborn of God.
151
149 Her Seed
And I will put enmity between thee and the
woman, and between thy seed and her seed;
it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise
his heel.
Gen 3:5
“Her seed,” indicates that Jesus
Christ is a descendent of the first
woman, Eve.
When God cursed the serpent for
enticing Eve to sin, He was declaring
even then that His Son (Who would
be born through a woman) . . . would
eventually destroy Satan.
152
150 Hidden Manna
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that
overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden
manna, and will give him a white stone, and
in the stone a new name written, which no
man knoweth saving he that receiveth [it].
Rev. 2:17
The “Hidden Manna” is Christ, The
Bread of Life.
Overcome means: “they that hold fast
their faith even unto death against the
power of their foes, and temptations
and persecutions; to conquer; to be
victorious.”
Those believers who “overcome” and
resist false teachings will receive the
Blessings of The Hidden Manna . . .
Jesus Christ!
153
151 Hiding Place
Thou [art] my hiding place and my shield: I hope in
thy word.
Ps. 119:114
Hiding place means – “covering,
shelter, or protection.”
Jesus is our “Hiding Place!”
He covers, protects and keeps us safe
from even the most violent storms in
our lives.
154
152 High Priest
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the
heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and
High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
Heb. 3:1
The “High Priest” or Chief Priest had
the duties of the preparation and the
offering of sacrifices in the Temple.
Jesus Christ Himself is Our High
Priest because by undergoing a
bloody death, He offered Himself as
the supreme sacrifice to God on our
behalf.
155
153 High Tower
My goodness, and my fortress; my high
tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and [he]
in whom I trust; who subdueth my people
under me.
Ps. 144:2
Christ is Our High Tower!
In His arms, our souls will be safe and
secure in a place high above our trials
and tribulations.
156
154 Highest
And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of
the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face
of the Lord to prepare his way;
Luke 1:76
John the Baptist was designated to be
the prophet for the Highest - Our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:
“In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the
wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the
kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was
spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one
crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord,
make his paths straight.” Matt. 3:1-3
157
155 Highway
And an highway shall be there, and a way,
and it shall be called The way of holiness; the
unclean shall not pass over it; but it [shall
be] for those: the wayfaring men, though
fools, shall not err [therein].
Is. 35:8
Highway is defined as “a great
road.”
Jesus is Our Great Road to Heaven.
Belief in Him is the only way to God
and eternal salvation:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and
the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by
me.” – John 14:6
158
156 Him That filleth
Which is his body, the fulness of him that
filleth all in all.
Eph. 1:23
Filleth means: “to cause God's will to
be obeyed as it should be, and God's
promises to receive fulfillment; to fill
to the top so that nothing shall be
wanting.”
Jesus teaches us about God’s will and
His promises.
He fills us with His love so that we
will want for nothing:
“The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Ps. 23:1
159
157 Him Whom Man Despised
Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel,
[and] his Holy One, to him whom man
despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth,
to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and
arise, princes also shall worship, because of
the LORD that is faithful, [and] the Holy One
of Israel, and he shall choose thee.
Is. 49:7
Jesus Christ is despised and scorned
by those who have hardened their
hearts to His message:
“He that heareth you heareth me; and he that
despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth
me despiseth him that sent me.” – Luke 10:16
160
158 Him Whom My Soul Loveth
[It was] but a little that I passed from them,
but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held
him, and would not let him go, until I had
brought him into my mother's house, and into
the chamber of her that conceived me.
Songs 3:3
Those whose hearts are open to the
message of Our Savior will love Him
with their whole hearts, minds, souls,
and strengths.
Believers latch onto His hands and
will not let Him go.
They even rush to share the good
news of His message to family and
friends.
161
159 Him Whom The father Hath
Sanctified
Say ye of him, whom the Father hath
sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou
blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of
God?
John 10:36
Sanctified means: “to separate from
profane things and dedicate to God.”
Christ was dedicated by His Father
God to the office of Messiah.
162
160 His Own Son
He that spared not his own Son, but
delivered him up for us all, how shall he not
with him also freely give us all things?
Rom. 8:32
Our Father God demonstrated His
great love for us by sacrificing His
Own Son, Our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ.
Therefore, whatsoever we ask for in
Jesus’ name will be freely given.
163
161 His Well-Beloved
Having yet therefore one son, his
wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them,
saying, They will reverence my son.
Mark 12:6

esteemed, dear, favorite, worthy of
love.”
These are all descriptions of how
deeply Our Father cared for His Son
Jesus Christ.
164
162 Holy and True
And they cried with a loud voice, saying,
How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost
thou not judge and avenge our blood on them
that dwell on the earth?
Rev. 6:10
Jesus is not only Holy but also True
. . . meaning He IS NOT fictitious,
counterfeit, imaginary, simulated, or
bogus.
We can trust Him implicitly because
He is genuine, sincere and for real!
165
163 Holy Child
By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and
that signs and wonders may be done by the
name of thy holy child Jesus.
Acts 4:30
All healing and all miracles are
accomplished through the power of
Jesus, the Holy Child of God.
166
164 Holy One
But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and
desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
Acts 3:14
Those who wanted Jesus put to death
and the murderer Barabbas released
were amazed at the miracles which
Peter and the other disciples were
able to perform.
However, the disciples knew that
their powers could only come from
the Holy One, Jesus Christ.
167
165 Holy One of God
Saying, Let [us] alone; what have we to do
with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou
come to destroy us? I know thee who thou
art, the Holy One of God.
Mark 1:24
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
The Holy One of God.
Even the demons knew Who Jesus
really was—and they also knew Who
sent Him!
168
166 Holy One of Israel
Fear not, thou worm Jacob, [and] ye men of
Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and
thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
Is. 41:14
The title Holy One means: “sacred or
set apart.”
Jesus was set apart by God to redeem
the nation of Israel which now includes
all believers.
169
167 Holy Thing
And the angel answered and said unto her,
The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and
the power of the Highest shall overshadow
thee: therefore also that holy thing which
shall be born of thee shall be called the Son
of God.
Luke 1:35
The term Holy Thing in this Scripture
means “Holy One.”
Jesus Christ is the Only One Who was
ever conceived by the Holy Ghost.
He alone is the True Holy Son of
God.
170
168 Hope of glory
To whom God would make known what [is]
the riches of the glory of this mystery among
the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope
of glory:
Col. 1:27
Hope is defined as: “the joyful and
confident expectation of eternal
salvation.”
All believers will be able to abide in
the Majesty of God because of the
sacrifice of Our Hope of Glory.
171
169 Horn of Salvation
And hath raised up an horn of salvation for
us in the house of his servant David;
Luke 1:69
A horn is defined as: “a mighty and
valiant helper, the author of
deliverance.”
Jesus is Our Horn of Salvation.
He is Our Mighty and Valiant
Messiah, Our Savior, the real Author
of our Deliverance.
172
170
Husband
For thy Maker [is] thine husband; the LORD
of hosts [is] his name; and thy Redeemer the
Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole
earth shall he be called.
Is. 54:5
The church is the Bride of Christ and
He is the Husband:
“For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for
I have espoused you to one husband, that I may
present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ.”
2 Cor. 11:2
173
171 I AM
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say
unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
John 8:58
Jesus states that He existed long
before the beloved forefathers of
Israel.
We can rest assured that the Great “I
AM” is in total control of our
situation.
174
172 I That Speak in Righteousness
Who [is] this that cometh from Edom, with
dyed garments from Bozrah? this [that is]
glorious in his apparel, travelling in the
greatness of his strength? I that speak in
righteousness, mighty to save.
Is. 63:1
To speak in this Scripture means: “to
command or to declare.”
The Traveler with the “glorious
apparel” in the above Scripture is Our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He declared His saving righteousness
to the world:
“My righteousness [is] near; my salvation is gone forth,
and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait
upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.” – Is. 51:5
175
173 Image of God
In whom the god of this world hath blinded
the minds of them which believe not, lest the
light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is
the image of God, should shine unto them.
2 Cor. 4:4
Jesus is the exact image of God, His
Father.
The more we study the Scriptures and
come to know Christ, the more we
will be able to know Our Father.
176
174 Israel
And said unto me, Thou [art] my servant, O
Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
Is. 49:3
The definition for the name “Israel”
is: “governed by God.”
Jesus Christ is God’s Servant, Who
has always carried out His Father’s
wishes:
“Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily,
verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of
himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what
things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son
likewise.” - John 5:19
177
175 Jesus
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou
shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save
his people from their sins.
Matt. 1:21
The name JESUS means: "Jehovah is
salvation."
Therefore, it stands for both the Name
of Our Savior and His purpose here
on earth.
178
176 Jesus Christ
And this is life eternal, that they might know
thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ,
whom thou hast sent.
John 17:3
The name Jesus Christ also means:
“the Anointed Son of God.”
This name was given to Our Lord and
Savior to designate Him as the Only
True and Anointed Son of God . . .
Who was sent to give us a chance for
life eternal!
179
177 Judge
Grudge not one against another, brethren,
lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge
standeth before the door.
Jam. 5:9
Jesus comes as a “Judge,” not only to
judge the world, but also to assess the
faithfulness of Christians:
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat
of Christ; that every one may receive the things
[done] in [his] body, according to that he hath
done, whether [it be] good or bad.”
2 Cor. 5:10
In light of this, we cannot allow
hardship to make us unloving and
hold grudges towards each other.
180
178 Judge of the Quick and Dead
And he commanded us to preach unto the
people, and to testify that it is he which was
ordained of God [to be] the Judge of quick
and dead.
Acts 10:42
The quick are those who are alive and
the dead are those who are spiritually
dead.
Jesus was ordained by His Father God
as a “Judge” for both types of people.
181
179 Just Man
When he was set down on the judgment seat,
his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou
nothing to do with that just man: for I have
suffered many things this day in a dream
because of him.
Matt. 27:19
Just man is defined as a man who is:
“innocent, faultless, and guiltless.”
Jesus was completely innocent of the
charges falsely accused against
Him—but He suffered in silence for
our eternal salvation.
182
180 Just One
And he said, The God of our fathers hath
chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his
will, and see that Just One, and shouldest
hear the voice of his mouth.
Acts 22:14
The Just One is someone who is:
“approved of or acceptable of God.”
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
the Approved and Acceptable Son of
God!!!
183
181 King
Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout
aloud, O Daughter of Jerusalem! Behold,
your King comes to you; He is
[uncompromisingly] just and having
salvation [triumphant and victorious],
patient, meek, lowly, and riding on a donkey,
upon a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Zec. 9:9 (AMP)
Jesus was crowned “King” and
anointed by Our Father for the
salvation of mankind.
However, Jesus was humble enough
to enter the city upon a small, young
donkey.
This shows that Our Lord is both
Majestic and Lowly . . . two traits
which can only exist together in a
True King!
184
182 King Eternal
Now unto the King eternal, immortal,
invisible, the only wise God, [be] honour and
glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Tim. 1:17
King is a title which means: “lord of
the land and leader of the people.”
Jesus Christ is Our King Eternal, The
Lord of The Land, Who will rule
God’s kingdom forever!
185
183 King of Glory
Who is this King of glory? The LORD of
hosts, he [is] the King of glory. Selah.
Ps. 24:10
Our Lord and Savior is the King of
Glory, meaning He is: “the King of
all that is majestic, splendid and
magnificent.”
Our Glorious King is Worthy to be
praised… Selah!
186
184 King of Israel
Nathanael answered and saith unto him,
Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou
art the King of Israel.
John 1:49
Nathanael knew without a shadow of
a doubt the Jesus was the “King of
Israel,” meaning He was the King of
God’s peculiar people.
Today all believers are considered to
be included in this group of God’s
beloved.
187
185 King of Kings
And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh
a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND
LORD OF LORDS.
Rev. 19:16
Of all the rulers who have ever
inhabited this earth, Jesus is the
Supreme King of them all!
He is the most powerful KING of all
time!
188
186 King of the Jews
And set up over his head his accusation
written,
THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Matt. 27:37
The religious leaders among the Jews
objected to this title. They felt it was
false because they did not believe that
Jesus was the “King of the Jews:”
“Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate,
Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I
am King of the Jews.”- John 19:21
But Pilate, instead of accusing Christ
as a Criminal—he proclaimed him a
King three times in three different
inscriptions.
Therefore, God causes men to serve
His purposes . . . even while they
believe that they are serving their
own.
189
187 Lamb
Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb
that was slain to receive power, and riches,
and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and
glory, and blessing.
Rev. 5:12
Christ is referred to as “Our Lamb.”
. . innocently suffering and cruelly
killed for our sins.
No one is more worthy of all of our
love and praises than Our Precious
Lamb!!!
190
188 Lamb of God
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto
him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God,
which taketh away the sin of the world.
John 1:29
Jesus is God’s Sacrificial Lamb.
He had to be slain because no one can
come before Our Father in a state of
sin.
God therefore had to sacrifice His
Own Son in order For His children to
reside with Him for all eternity:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
191
189 Last Adam
And so it is written, The first man Adam was
made a living soul; the last Adam [was
made] a quickening spirit.
1 Cor. 15:45
God “created” only two men who had a
profound and everlasting impact on the
world . . . Adam and Jesus.
God breathed life into the first Adam,
and he became a living soul:
“And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the
ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.” – Gen. 2:7
Jesus is the “Last Adam” conceived by
God’s Holy Spirit and given life:
“But while he thought on these things, behold, the
angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream,
saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto
thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her
is of the Holy Ghost.” – Matt. 1:20
192
190 Lawgiver
For the LORD [is] our judge, the LORD [is]
our lawgiver, the LORD [is] our king; he will
save us.
Is. 33:22
Lawgiver is a name which means: “to
inscribe or engrave.”
Jesus helps to engrave the laws of
God upon our hearts through the
ministering of His Holy Spirit.
193
191 Life
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth,
and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me.
John 14:6
NO ONE can have eternal life
without first believing upon Our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ.
In fact, Jesus is THE LIFE!
“In him was life; and the life was the light of
men.” - John 1:4
194
192 Lifter Up of My Head
But thou, O LORD, [art] a shield for me; my
glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
Ps. 3:3
Whenever, we feel down and
depressed, hanging our heads in shame
and despair, unable to face another day
. . . Jesus can lift up our heads by
giving us love and hope for tomorrow.
He can even shield us from our own
negative, destructive thoughts.
195
193 Light
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of
the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God
did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light
thereof.
Rev. 21:23
There will be no darkness in
Heaven—for Jesus will be Our Light.
He is also Our Light here on earth
when we become lost in the darkness
of sin.
196
194 Light of Men
In him was life; and the life was the light of
men.
John 1:4
Light in this Scripture means: “the
power of understanding, especially
moral and spiritual truth.”
Without Jesus, we are spiritually dead
and mentally in perpetual darkness.
Or in other words, we cannot
understand our life here on earth nor
the glory of eternal life without His
LIGHT!
197
195 Light of the Morning
And he shall be as the light of the morning, when
the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as
the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear
shining after rain.
2 Sam. 23:4
In this Scripture, David is describing
the attribute of a good Ruler.
Such a Ruler:
1. Rules in righteousness and in the fear
of God,
2. Guides and directs His people,
3. Makes them cheerful and comfortable;
4. Has a government which is pleasant,
delightful, and promises a growing and
increasing happiness to them—just as a
morning without clouds.
All of these qualities describe Our
Light of the Morning . . . Jesus
Christ!
198
196 Light of the World
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I
am the light of the world: he that followeth
me shall not walk in darkness, but shall
have the light of life.
John 8:12
Anyone on this earth who is living in
the darkness of sin can come to Jesus
and have His healing light give them
true life.
Only Our Precious Savior can “light
up your world!”
199
197 Light to the Gentiles
And he said, It is a light thing that thou
shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes
of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of
Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the
Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation
unto the end of the earth.
Is. 49:6
Jesus brings His glorious light to shine
on both Hebrews and non-Hebrews
(Gentiles) alike.
Therefore, all may partaketh of His
saving grace.
200
198 Lion of the Tribe of Judah
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep
not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the
Root of David, hath prevailed to open the
book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Rev. 5:5
Lion means: “a brave and mighty
hero with great strength.”
Jesus is a descendent of David who
was from the tribe of Judah.
There is none stronger, braver or
mightier than Our Lord Jesus Christ.
201
199 Living Bread
I am the living bread which came down
from heaven: if any man eat of this bread,
he shall live for ever: and the bread that I
will give is my flesh, which I will give for the
life of the world.
John 6:51
Jesus is our “Living Bread” because
He gives nourishment to our souls as
well as to our physical bodies.
Anyone who eats of the “Living
Bread” will have everlasting life.
202
200 Living Stone
To whom coming, [as unto] a living stone,
disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God,
[and] precious,
1 Pet. 2:4
Jesus is God’s Precious “Living
Stone” . . .
Strong,
Resilient,
Steadfast.
He is the Living Stone for all of
God’s children—even those who do
not believe in Him.
203
201 Living Water
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou
knewest the gift of God, and who it is that
saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou
wouldest have asked of him, and he would
have given thee living water.
John 4:10
In ancient times, spring water
was called “living” water
because it seemed to be "alive"
as it bubbled up from the
ground.
Jesus is Our Living Water Who
quenches our spiritual thirst and
gives us eternal life.
204
202 Lord
Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved
saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when
Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he
girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was
naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
John 21:7
The term “Lord” in this
Scripture means – “supreme in
authority” or “controller.”
The Apostle John immediately
recognized the Stranger coming
toward them.
He knew that only a Person
who had complete authority
and control of the elements
could possibly walk on water.
And that Person could only be
THE LORD . . . Christ Jesus!
205
203 Lord and Christ
Therefore let all the house of Israel know
assuredly, that God hath made that same
Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord
and Christ.
Acts 2:36
God sent His Son Jesus Christ
to be both “Lord” and “Christ”
. . . meaning both “Master”
and “Messiah.”
Those who crucified Him were
obviously not aware of His
powerful and glorious dual
titles.
206
204 Lord and Savior
For if after they have escaped the pollutions
of the world through the knowledge of the
Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are
again entangled therein, and overcome, the
latter end is worse with them than the
beginning.
2 Pet. 2:20
Savior is defined as: “deliverer
or preserver.”
Jesus is the Only One mighty
enough to be both Our Lord
and Our Deliverer!
We must always turn to Him
when we become “tangled-up”
in sin.
Otherwise, our lives would be
worse than before we knew
Him.
207
205 Lord From Heaven
The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the
second man [is] the Lord from heaven.
1 Cor. 15:47
The 1st man, of course, was
Adam.
The 2nd
man, Jesus, is Our
Lord, manifested in the flesh,
Who came down from heaven
to save us:
“For I came down from heaven, not to do mine
own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
John 6:38
208
206 Lord of All
The word which [God] sent unto the
children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus
Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
Acts 10:36
Jesus is not a respecter of persons.
He offers salvation to all—both Jews
and Gentiles!
And regardless of religious beliefs,
Jesus Christ is LORD OF ALL:
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of
things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under
the earth; And that every tongue should confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Phil. 2:10-11
209
207 Lord of Glory
Which none of the princes of this world knew:
for had they known [it], they would
not have crucified the Lord of glory.
1 Cor. 2:8
The rulers of this earth (whether
human or demonic) were blinded to
the true glorious power of Christ, so
they killed Him, mistakenly believing
that His glory would go with Him to
the grave.
However, after His crucifixion, God
restored His Blessed Son to the glory
which He had before the beginning of
time:
“And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own
self with the glory which I had with thee before the
world was.” – John 17:5
210
208 Lord of Hosts
[As for]our redeemer, the LORD of hosts
[is] his name, the Holy One of Israel.
Is. 47:4
Hosts refer to: “the leader of an
army.”
Christ is the Great Leader of Our
Father’s army of believers.
211
209 Lord of Lords
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the
Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of
lords, and King of kings: and they that are
with him [are] called, and chosen, and
faithful.
Rev. 17:14
Jesus is “Lord of Lords” . . . the
Sovereign of all sovereigns.
All the powers of earth and hell are
subject to His control.
All faithful believers will answer when
He calls them to discipleship:
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they
follow me:” - John 10:27
212
210 Lord of Peace
Now the Lord of peace himself give you
peace always by all means. The Lord [be]
with you all.
2 Thess. 3:16
Jesus is the “Lord of Peace,” meaning
He is “The Lord of harmony and
tranquility.”
All believers can have His special
peace in the midst of the turmoil
around them:
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not
as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart
be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” - John 14:27
213
211 Lord of the Dead and Living
For to this end Christ both died, and rose,
and revived, that he might be Lord both of
the dead and living.
Rom. 14:9
One of the definitions for dead is:
“destitute of a life that recognizes and
is devoted to God; given up to
trespasses and sins.”
Living means: “active, blessed,
endless in the kingdom of God.”
All of us were “spiritually dead”
before we came to Jesus.
Our Savior was crucified because we
did not know His Father—so we were
continually giving in to our trespasses
and sins.
But He was resurrected so that we
could have endless, everlasting life in
the kingdom of God!!!
214
212 Lord of the Harvest
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly
[is] great, but the labourers [are] few: pray ye
therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he
would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Luke 10:2
Harvest refers to: “the gathering of
men into the kingdom of God.”
It is a time of reaping (meaning the
final judgment), when the righteous
are gathered into the kingdom of God
and the wicked are cast into hell
forever.
Jesus will send his “laborers” or
disciples into the world to preach His
gospel.
But regardless of whether we accept
their message, we will all stand before
Jesus at “harvest time!”
215
213 Lord of the Sabbath
Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the
sabbath.
Mark 2:28
Christ is the “Lord of the Sabbath.”
This means that He is the Master of
our holy day of rest.
But Christ is also in complete control
every day of the week!!!
216
214 Lord Our Righteousness
In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel
shall dwell safely: and this [is] his name
whereby he shall be called,
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Jer. 23:6
“THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS” is
a sacred name symbolically applied to the
Messiah . . . Our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ.
He will protect and save His people.
217
215 Master
But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your
Master, [even] Christ; and all ye are
brethren.
Matt. 23:8
Master is defined as: “a guide or
teacher.”
All of the lessons which we need to be
able to exist in this flesh body were
taught by Jesus in His parables.
Christ is our Master Teacher.
218
216 Master of the House
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master
of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the
cockcrowing, or in the morning:
Luke 13:25
Master in this Scripture means: “he to
whom a person or thing belongs; the
owner; one who has control of the
person.”
Jesus is Our Master and He has total
control over us because we belong to
Him:
“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure,
having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are
his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of
Christ depart from iniquity.” – 2 Tim. 2:19
Therefore, we must try to be obedient
in all areas of our lives—for we do not
know when “Our Master of the
house” shall return.
219
217 Mediator
For [there is] one God, and one mediator
between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1 Tim. 2:5
A mediator is: “one who works with
both sides in a dispute in an attempt to
help them to reach an agreement.”
Our Father God is a Holy Spirit; we
are made of flesh. Our sinful flesh
cannot stand before a Holy God.
However, Our Father still desires for
us to dwell with Him for all eternity.
Therefore, the only way this glorious
blessing can be ours—is to have a
“mediator” to make reconciliation
between God and us.
Since such a mediator must be both
divine and human . . . Our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ is the only One
Who could accomplish this!
220
218 Mediator of the New
Covenant
And to Jesus the mediator of the new
covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that
speaketh better things than [that of] Abel.
Heb. 12:24
The Old covenant was made by
God with Noah after all the
inhabitants of the earth were
destroyed by the flood because
of their disobedience.
The New Covenant is
authorized by the blood of
God’s Precious Son . . . Our
Blessed Mediator Jesus Christ!
Instead of destroying the earth
again, God put to death His
Own Son to atone for our sins.
221
219 Meek and Lowly
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;
for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye
shall find rest unto your souls.
Matt. 11:29
Jesus displays His nature when He
describes Himself as “meek and
lowly” . . . meaning He is “gentle,
mild and humble.”
It is His servant’s heart, displayed
throughout His ministry, that qualifies
Jesus to be the One Who bears our
burdens and gives our souls rest.
222
220 Mercyseat
And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing
the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak
particularly.
Heb. 9:5
The “mercy seat” was the ornate lid
for the Ark of the Covenant.
It was decorated with the designs of
the cherubims upon it.
The blood of sacrifice was sprinkled
upon it for the forgiveness of Israel’s
sins on the Day of Atonement (Exodus
25:17-22).
We are atoned in the eyes of God by
the precious blood of the slain Lamb,
Jesus Christ!
He is Our Mercyseat!
223
221 Messenger of the Covenant
Behold, I will send my messenger, and he
shall prepare the way before me: and the
Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to
his temple, even the messenger of the
covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he
shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
Mal. 3:1
This “Messenger of the covenant” is
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
His arrival will be announced by my
messenger – meaning God’s
messenger, John the Baptist.
Jesus is coming to His temple as the
fulfillment of the old covenant . . . and
to institute a new covenant with His
gospel which will delight all believers!
224
222 Messiah
The woman saith unto him, I know that
Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when
he is come, he will tell us all things.
John 4:25
Messias is the Greek form of Messiah
and it means "anointed."
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
“The Messiah” . . . The Anointed
One!
He was chosen by God to teach and
preach and prophesize to mankind.
225
223 Messiah the Prince
Know therefore and understand, [that] from
the going forth of the commandment to
restore and to build Jerusalem unto the
Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks,
and threescore and two weeks: the street
shall be built again, and the wall, even in
troublous times.
Dan. 9:25
Prince in this Scripture also means:
“the anointed one.”
Jesus in Our Anointed Prince, Our
Messiah.
226
224 Mightier Than I
I indeed baptize you with water unto
repentance: but he that cometh after me is
mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy
to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy
Ghost, and [with] fire:
Matt. 3:11
Mightier means: “one who has the
excellence of character and strength of
soul to sustain the attacks of Satan.”
The Only One Who can fit this
description is Jesus Christ!
Although John the Baptist was a great
man, he knew without a shadow of a
doubt that the One Who baptizes with
the Holy Ghost was “Mightier” than
he.
227
225 Mighty God
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is
given: and the government shall be upon his
shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The
Prince of Peace.
Is. 9:6
The Mighty God means: “the one who
is most like God.”
Christ is the image of His Father.
He is the Only One who is most like
God.
228
226 Mighty One of Israel
Ye shall have a song, as in the night [when] a
holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart,
as when one goeth with a pipe to come into
the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty
One of Israel.
Is. 30:29
The term the mighty One means
“rock.”
For the Nation of Israel (which now
includes all believers, regardless of
race, creed or color), Our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ is “Our Rock”
. . . steadfast and unmovable.
Knowledge of His unfaltering love
will keep “gladness in our hearts and a
song on our lips!”
229
227 Mighty To Save
Who [is] this that cometh from Edom, with
dyed garments from Bozrah? this [that is]
glorious in his apparel, travelling in the
greatness of his strength? I that speak in
righteousness, mighty to save.
Is.63:1
By the power of His MIGHT, Christ
was able to bring about the promised
redemption.
Therefore, whatever difficulties and
oppositions may be in your way,
Christ is . . . Mighty Enough To Save
You!!!
230
228 Mine Elect
Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine
elect, [in whom] my soul delighteth; I have
put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth
judgment to the Gentiles.
Is. 42:1
Elect means: “the chosen one of
God.”
Jesus is the Only One especially
elected to come to earth to save us.
By sacrificing His life, Christ ensured
that one day we will be able to stand
before a Holy God because our sins
are covered by His blessed blood.
231
229 Minister of the Circumcision
Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of
the circumcision for the truth of God, to
confirm the promises [made] unto the
fathers:
Rom. 15:8
The term Minister in this Scripture has
a slightly different definition, namely:
“one who executes the commands of
another.”
Circumcision is a term used to
describe Christians who are separated
from the unclean multitude and are
truly sanctified by God.
Christ is the One Who carries out the
commands of God regarding the need
for His people to be holy and
separated from the world:
“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
1 Pet. 1:16
232
230 Minister of the Sanctuary
A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true
tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not
man.
Heb. 8:2
Minister in this Scripture means: “one
by whom God administers His affairs
and executes His decrees.”
Jesus is now Our Minister of the
Sanctuary!
He resides in the true tabernacle in
heaven, taking care of His Father’s
affairs, and carrying out His judgment.
233
231 My Beloved
My beloved [is] unto me [as] a cluster of
camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.
Songs 1:14
Jesus is Our Beloved Savior Whom
we adore.
He is the Only One worthy of our
absolute affection and devotion.
234
232 My Beloved Son
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is
my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Matt 3:17
These words mark the beginning of
the public ministry of Jesus Christ.
However, make note that God
expressed His divine love and pleasure
of Jesus . . . BEFORE Jesus had even
started to carry out God’s wishes!
Or in other words, Jesus had not
performed any actions yet to earn
God’s love and approval.
Therefore, the love of God is not
conditional on our “works;” rather, it
is a gift which He bestows on all of
His children.
We are all BELOVED by Our
Father!!!
235
233 My Defense
But the LORD is my defence; and my God
[is] the rock of my refuge.
Ps. 94:22
Defense means: “a high or a secure
place.”
Our security and our safety lies in the
knowledge and Blessed Assurance of
the blood of Jesus.
He is our only Defense from the forces
of evil which seek to destroy God’s
children.
236
234 My Helper
So that we may boldly say, The Lord [is]
my helper, and I will not fear what man
shall do unto me.
Heb. 13:6
All believers can boldly say that Jesus
is “My Helper!”
Only He can come to our aid in times
of need.
Even if you are facing a turbulent or
dangerous situation, you need not
fear—for “Your Helper” is right there
ready to assist you.
237
235 My Lamp
For thou [art] my lamp, O LORD: and the
LORD will lighten my darkness.
2 Sam. 22:29
Jesus provides light in the midst of our
struggles so that we can stay focused
on Him.
He alone is “Our Lamp”. . . Our
Illumination . . . Our Light at the end
of the tunnel.
As long as we can stay focused on
Him, we will emerge safely from the
darkness of sin.
238
236 My Lord and My God
And Thomas answered and said unto him,
My Lord and my God.
John 20:28
The title Lord is defined as: “the
owner; one who has control of the
person; the master.”
“My God” is a term used of the only
true God.
Jesus had to prove to a “doubting”
Thomas just Who He really
was—namely, both Master and God.
To all of us who continue to doubt
Him, at some point in our lives, Our
Lord and Our God will reveal His true
presence.
239
237 My Portion
The LORD [is] my portion, saith my soul;
therefore will I hope in him.
Lam. 3:24
One of the definitions for portion is:
“reward.”
Eternal life with Our Lord and Savior
is the reward promised to every
believer:
“For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his
Father with his angels; and then he shall reward
every man according to his works. - Matt. 16:27
This reward is the hope upon which
our faith is built.
240
238 My Servant
Behold my servant, whom I have chosen;
my beloved, in whom my soul is well
pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and
he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
Matt. 12:18
My Servant is defined as: “one who
fulfils God’s will.”
Jesus is the Only One personally
chosen by God to do His will.
241
239 My Shepherd
The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not
want.
Ps. 23:1
One of the definitions of Shepherd is:
“to be a special friend.”
My Shepherd is My Special Friend,
Jesus Christ!!!
242
240 My Shield
The God of my rock; in him will I trust: [he
is] my shield, and the horn of my salvation,
my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour;
thou savest me from violence.
2 Sam. 22:3
The Word shield in this
Scripture means: “protector.”
Jesus is Our Shield! Our Great
Protector!
Regardless of the violence,
wrong, cruelty, injustice, etc.
that may be happening to our
physical bodies, Christ will
save our soul if we would just
trust in Him:
“For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast
delivered my soul from the lowest hell.”
Ps. 86:13
243
241 My Son
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said
unto me, Thou [art] my Son; this day have I
begotten thee.
Ps. 2:7
The term “My Son” is evidence of the
deity of Jesus and His superiority to all
angels.
This title is reserved for God the Son,
the Second Person of the Trinity.
244
242 My Stay
They prevented me in the day of my
calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
2 Sam. 22:19
The term my stay means: “support.”
Jesus is Our Stay; we can always lean
on Him when we do not have the
strength to go on.
His everlasting arms will always
support us and hold us up.
245
243 My Strength
Pull me out of the net that they have laid
privily for me: for thou [art]
my strength.
Ps. 31:4
The definition of strength means:
“place or means of safety; protection,
refuge, or stronghold.”
These are all descriptions of Our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ, Our
Strength!
246
244 My Well- Beloved
. . . My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a
very fruitful hill:
Is 5:1
Christ is beloved by all believing
souls.
Faith in Our Well-Beloved will help
us to develop our own fruitful hill!
247
245 Mystery
To whom God would make known what [is]
the riches of the glory of this mystery
among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you,
the hope of glory:
Col. 1:27
This “mystery” is the living presence
of Jesus in the believer—whether Jew
or Gentile.
The fact that Jesus would abide in the
Gentiles was not clearly revealed in
the Old Testament.
Therefore, He was a Mystery Who
wasn’t revealed until the time of His
ministry.
248
246 Nazarene
And he came and dwelt in a city called
Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was
spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a
Nazarene.
Matt. 2:23
Nazareth was a town built upon a hill
in the lovely lower region of Galilee.
After returning from Egypt, Joseph
and Mary brought the Baby Jesus back
to their hometown of Nazareth.
Therefore, He is referred to as a
“Nazarene!”
249
247 New Wine
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else
the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled,
and the bottles shall perish.
Luke 5:37
“New wine” is freshly pressed wine.
When put into new wineskins, they
would stretch as the wine continued to
ferment. Then the skins would harden.
New wine could not be put into old
wineskins which could no longer expand.
Jesus is Our New Wine!!!
Therefore, we cannot pour the new life
that He gives us into our old bodies.
We must have new bodies created by
His Holy Spirit:
“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old
man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And
be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on
the new man, which after God is created in righteousness
and true holiness.”
Eph 4:22- 24
250
248 O Thou Most High
I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing
praise to thy name,
O thou most High.
Ps. 9:2
The term, “O thou most High,” was
used of a high-ranking Davidic king.
Jesus, of the line of David, is Our
Most High King!
251
249 Offering
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved
us, and hath given himself for us an
offering and a sacrifice to God for a
sweetsmelling savour.
Eph. 5:2
Offering means: “a gift or present.”
By offering His life, Jesus gave us the
greatest gift ever . . . namely
sanctification!
“For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them
that are sanctified.” - Heb. 10:14
252
250 Ointment Poured Forth
Because of the savour of thy good ointments
thy name [is as] ointment poured forth,
therefore do the virgins love thee.
Songs 1:3
Ointment is defined as: “an unguent
or balm; a substance that is soothing
and gives comfort and relief from
pain.”
The love of Jesus can ease all
wounds—whether physical, emotional
or spiritual.
His very NAME is precious, soothing
and comforting to our hearts!
253
251 Omega
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
the end, the first and the last.
Rev. 22:13
Omega is the last letter of the Greek
alphabet.
This means that Jesus is not only
before all things—but He will remain
after all things.
Or in other words, Our Savior has total
control of our lives before our births as
well as after our deaths.
254
252 One Lord
But to us [there is but] one God, the Father,
of whom [are] all things, and we in him;
and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are]
all things, and we by him.
1 Cor. 8:6
There is but One Lord, by Whom all
things were created . . . and His name
is Jesus.
Our faith should rest in Him alone:
“One Lord, one faith, one baptism,” – Eph. 4:5
255
253 One Shepherd
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them
also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and
there shall be one fold, [and] one shepherd.
John 10:16
A shepherd was responsible for:
1. watching out for enemies trying
to attack the sheep,
2. defending the sheep from
attackers,
3. healing the wounded and sick
sheep,
4. finding and saving lost or
trapped sheep,
5. loving them, and sharing their
lives and earning their trust.
Our Father God has anointed only One
Shepherd to watch over His “flock”
(His children).
That One Shepherd is Our Lord Jesus
Christ!
256
254 One Son
Having yet therefore one son, his
wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them,
saying, They will reverence my son.
Mark 12:6
Our Father God had only One Son
Whom He sent to save the world from
our sins.
We must believe on this “One Son”
. . . because none other will be sent!
257
255 Only Begotten Son
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
Only Begotten means: “to be one’s
only son or daughter.”
Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of God
because He is the Only One Who also
has the essential nature of God.
258
256 Our Hope
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the
commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord
Jesus Christ, [which is] our hope;
1 Tim. 1:1
The word hope in this Scripture is
defined as: “the joyful and confident
expectation of eternal salvation.”
Only Jesus can be the source of Our
Hope.
Only through Him, can we enjoy
confident expectation of eternal
salvation.
259
257 Our Passover
Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be
a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ
our passover is sacrificed for us:
1 Cor. 5:7
During Passover, a paschal lamb was
slain and eaten by the Ancient
Hebrews in remembrance of the night
when God instructed them to sprinkle
their door posts with its blood, so that
the destroying angel, seeing the blood,
might pass over their dwellings.
Christ crucified is likened to the slain
paschal lamb.
Therefore, He is Our Passover, Whose
blood and body we must spiritually
partake in order to have eternal life.
260
258 Our Peace
For he is our peace, who hath made both
one, and hath broken down the middle wall of
partition [between us];
Eph. 2:14
Peace in this Scripture means: “the
tranquil state of a soul assured of its
salvation through Christ, fearing
nothing from God and content with its
earthly lot, of whatsoever sort that is.
By assuming our nature, Jesus Himself
became Our Peace and Our
Tranquility!
Believers can be assured of our
salvation because Jesus has paid the
full price by His sacrifice on the cross.
He has not simply made peace
between God and man, but also
between Jew and Gentile.
261
259 Our Sufficiency
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to
think any thing as of ourselves; but
our sufficiency [is] of God;
2 Cor. 3:5
Sufficiency means: “the ability or
competency to do a thing.”
We can do nothing by ourselves;
therefore we are insufficient:
“I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that
abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth
forth much fruit: for without me ye can do
nothing.” - John 15:5
Only Jesus has the ability to do all
things, so our sufficiency must come
from Him:
“I can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me.” – Phil. 4:13
262
260 Physician
When Jesus heard [it], he saith unto them,
They that are whole have no need of the
physician, but they that are sick: I came not
to call the righteous, but sinners to
repentance.
Mark 2:17
Jesus Christ is the perfect Physician
for those whose souls are sick.
He is the perfect Doctor to heal us of
our sins.
263
261 Pillar of the Cloud
And the angel of God, which went before the
camp of Israel, removed and went behind
them; and the pillar of the cloud went from
before their face, and
stood behind them:
Ex. 14:19
The “Pillar of the cloud” was Our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is present before us when we go
into battle . . . and He is present right
behind us during our battles.
264
262 Plant of Renown
And I will raise up for them a plant of
renown, and they shall be no more consumed
with hunger in the land, neither bear the
shame of the heathen any more.
Ezek. 34:29
Jesus is Our Plant of Renown, which
means: “a plant of great prominence
and authority in God’s kingdom.”
We can share His gospel with all those
who are “consumed with hunger” for
righteousness.
265
263 Power of God
But unto them which are called, both Jews
and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the
wisdom of God.
1 Cor. 1:24
Power means: “strength and ability.”
Only Jesus has the God-given ability
to save the world.
Therefore, Jesus Christ Himself is the
Power of God.
But this true power and strength of
God could have only been achieved
by Christ crucified.
Therefore, the cross is what gave
Jesus His power!
266
264 Precious Corner Stone
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah,
Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone,
a tried stone, a precious corner-stone of sure
foundation: he that believeth shall not be in
haste.
Is. 28:16 (ASV)
Precious is defined as: “highly valued,
prized, weighty, rare, splendid.”
These are all descriptions of Our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ, the Precious
Cornerstone or foundation of our
faith.
267
265 Prince
Him hath God exalted with his right hand [to
be] a Prince and a Saviour, for to give
repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
Acts 5:31
Prince in this Scripture means: “one
that takes the lead in any thing and
thus affords an example; a
predecessor in a matter; a pioneer.”
Jesus is the perfect example of a true
Prince.
And God has exalted Him for His
unwavering obedience.
268
266 Prince of Life
And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath
raised from the dead; whereof we are
witnesses.
Acts 3:15
Our “Prince of Life,” Jesus Christ,
had to be killed in order for us to have
eternal life.
However, His Father would not leave
Jesus in that state of death . . . but
raised Him up on the third day.
269
267 Prince of Peace
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is
given: and the government shall be
upon his shoulder: and his name shall be
called Wonderful, Counsellor, The
mighty God, The everlasting Father, The
Prince of Peace.
Is. 9:6
Peace is defined as: “completeness,
safety, soundness (in body), welfare,
health, prosperity, quietness,
tranquility, contentment, friendship.”
Our Lord and Savior is the Blessed
Prince of all of these attributes.
By believing in Him, we will also
have eternal contentment, soundness,
safety, health, prosperity, and
tranquility!!!
270
268 Prince of the Kings of the
Earth
And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful
witness, [and] the first begotten
of the dead, and the prince of the kings of
the earth . . .
Rev. 1:5
Jesus in the only “Prince” Who is
more powerful than any king who ever
lived!
Every king who has existed on this
earth will eventually kneel to Him!
271
269 Prophet From the Midst of
Thee
The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a
Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy
brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall
hearken;
Deut. 18:15
The term Prophet is defined as: “a
spokesman or speaker; a messenger of
God and declarer of His will.”
Our Lord Jesus Christ was born as a
human and raised among His people.
His purpose was to declare the will of
His Father and offer salvation to those
who believed on Him.
However, God commanded that Jesus
be worshipped and obeyed (harken),
just as we worship and obey Our
Father.
272
270 Prophet Mighty in Deed and
Word
And he said unto them, What things? And
they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of
Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in
deed and word before God and all the
people:
Luke 24:19
Jesus revealed Himself through His
actions (deeds) as well as His words.
Our Mighty Prophet practiced exactly
what He preached!
273
271 Prophet of Nazareth
And the multitude said, This is Jesus the
prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
Matt. 21:11
Most of the people during the time of
Jesus had no idea of exactly Who He
was—thus the term “Prophet of
Nazareth.”
They heard about His prophecies and
His teachings, but the concept of Him
being the Son of God was not widely
known.
274
272 Propitiation
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but
that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the
propitiation for our sins.
1 John 2:2
Propitiation means: “to appease, to
pacify; to say or do something in order
to make someone less angry.”
The wrath of Our Father concerning
our sins is appeased only by the
precious blood of His Beloved Son.
275
273 Purifier
And he shall sit [as] a refiner and purifier of
silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi,
and purge them as gold and silver, that they
may offer unto the LORD an offering in
righteousness.
Mal. 3:3
A purifier is: “one who makes clean.”
Our sins are cleansed and washed
away by Our Purifier Jesus Christ . . .
through His shed blood.
276
274 Quickening Spirit
And so it is written, The first man Adam was
made a living soul; the last Adam [was
made] a quickening spirit.
1 Cor. 15:45
A quickening is defined as: “to
arouse and invigorate; to make alive,
give life or to restore to life by
spiritual power.”
Jesus Christ is our Quickening Spirit!
He gives us life because HE IS LIFE!
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and
the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by
me.” – John 14:6
277
275 Rabbi
Nathanael answered and saith unto him,
Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the
King of Israel.
John 1:49
“Rabbi” was a title used by the Jews
to address their teachers. It means:
“my great one; my honorable sir.”
Jesus is Our Great Honorable
Teacher, worthy to be praised!
278
276 Rain Upon the Mown Grass
He shall come down like rain upon the
mown grass: as showers [that] water the
earth.
Ps. 72:6
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
our invigorating, energizing,
revitalizing, and stimulating “Rain!”
And in due time, He will return!
“Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of
the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the
precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience
for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.”
Jam. 5:7
279
277 Ransom
For even the Son of man came not to be
ministered unto, but to minister, and to give
his life a ransom for many.
Mark 10:45
Ransom is defined as: “to liberate
many from misery and the penalty of
their sins.”
By sacrificing His life, Christ became
Our Ransom!
He paid the ultimate penalty for our
sins—thereby liberating us from the
misery of hell!
280
278 Redeemer
And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and
unto them that turn from transgression in
Jacob, saith the LORD.
Is. 59:20
A “redeemer” is the person
responsible to buy a family member or
fellow tribesman out of slavery.
Christ is Our Redeemer Who brought
us out of the slavery of sin which we
were in before we became saved.
The price that He paid to redeem us
was His very life!
281
279 Refiner’s Fire
But who may abide the day of his coming?
and who shall stand when he appeareth? for
he [is] like a refiner's fire, and like fullers'
soap:
Mal. 3:2
Refiner means: “one who proves or
tests.”
Our Lord Jesus is Our Refiner’s Fire!
Through the fiery test of His heart-
searching truth revealed to us in His
Word, Jesus prepares the sinner's heart
to be His temple.
Therefore, we must study the
Scriptures daily in order for our
refining process to be complete:
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman
that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the
word of truth.” – 2 Tim. 2:15
282
280 Rewarder
But without faith [it is] impossible to please
[him]: for he that cometh to God must believe
that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them
that diligently seek him.
Heb. 11:6
A rewarder is: “one who pays
wages.”
Jesus is Our Rewarder because He
paid the wages for our sins with His
shed blood:
“For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God
[is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Rom. 6:23
Therefore, if we believe in Him, we
will be rewarded with eternal life!
283
281 Riches of His Glory
And that he might make known the riches of
his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he
had afore prepared unto glory,
Rom. 9:23
The definition of riches is: “the
fullness of God’s perfections.”
Jesus fulfills all of Our Father’s plans
for us to abide in perfect harmony with
Him.
284
282 Righteous
My little children, these things write I unto
you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we
have an advocate with the Father, Jesus
Christ the righteous:
1 John 2:1
Righteous in this Scripture means:
“one who is upright, virtuous, keeping
the commands of God; innocent,
faultless, guiltless; approved of or
acceptable of God.”
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
IS . . . The Righteous!
285
283 Righteous Judge
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous
judge, shall give me at that day: and not to
me only, but unto all them also that love his
appearing.
2 Tim. 4:8
The title “Righteous Judge” is used for
a person: “whose way of thinking,
feeling, and acting is wholly conformed
to the will of God, and who therefore,
needs no modification in his heart.”
The Only One worthy of such a title as
a Righteous Judge is Jesus Christ, Our
Savior.
286
284 Righteous Servant
He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and]
shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my
righteous servant justify many; for he shall
bear their iniquities.
Is. 53:11
A Righteous Servant is defined as:
“one who is justified and vindicated
by God.”
Jesus did bear our iniquities (sins) by
His death on the cross.
However, on the third day following
Jesus’ death, Our Father vindicated
His Righteous Servant through His
resurrection!
287
285 Rivers of Water in a Dry
Place
And a man shall be as an hiding place from
the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as
rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow
of a great rock in a weary land.
Is. 32:2
The word “rivers” in this Scripture is
defined as: “a channel or canal.”
Jesus is Our Rivers of Water Who will
create a channel through the dry,
barren places in our lives—and bring
in living water to replenish our souls:
“He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said,
out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
John 7:38
288
286 Rock
And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for
they drank of that spiritual Rock that
followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
1 Cor. 10:4
Rock is defined as: “strength of soul.”
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
Our Rock and The Strength of our
souls!!!
289
287 Rock of My Salvation
The LORD liveth; and blessed [be] my rock;
and exalted be the God of the rock of my
salvation.
2 Sam. 22:47
Salvation in this Scripture means:
“deliverance.”
Jesus is the Rock of our Deliverance!
Our belief in Him will be our salvation
and our escape from an eternity in
hell.
290
288 Rock of Offence
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of
offence, [even to them] which stumble at the
word, being disobedient: whereunto also they
were appointed.
1 Pet. 2:8
A “rock of offence” is: “a stumbling
block or a rock which makes people
fall.”
Those who do not believe in the
gospel of Christ will find all sorts of
stumbling blocks in their path . . . just
as God intended.
291
289 Rod
And there shall come forth a rod out of the
stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of
his roots:
Is. 11:1
Jesse was the father of David.
Therefore, Jesus was a Rod or a direct
descendent of Jesse:
“And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse,
which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it
shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be
glorious.” - Is. 11:10
292
290 Root of David
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep
not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the
Root of David, hath prevailed to open the
book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Rev. 5:5
Root in this Scripture means: “an
offspring or child.”
Jesus Christ is the Root of David; He
is a direct descendent of King David
from the tribe of Judah.
293
291 Ruler in Israel
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, [though] thou
be little among the thousands of Judah, [yet]
out of thee shall he come forth unto me [that
is] to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth
[have been] from of old, from everlasting.
Mic. 5:2
Jesus was anointed by God to be the
Supreme Ruler of His chosen nation
Israel.
All believers are now natural
“citizens” of God’s nation:
“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and
foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the
household of God;”
Eph 2:19
294
292 Sacrifice
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved
us, and hath given himself for us an offering
and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling
savour.
Eph. 5:2
Sacrifice means: “a sin-offering or a
victim for sin; a sacrificial act in
which the blood of an animal was
poured out to God as an atonement for
sin.”
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was
Our Supreme Sacrifice because His
blood was shed for our sins!!!
295
293 Sanctuary
Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in
the mountain of thine inheritance, [in] the
place, O LORD, [which] thou hast made for
thee to dwell in, [in] the Sanctuary, O Lord,
[which] thy hands have established.
Ex. 15:17
A “Sanctuary” is a holy place.
Jesus is Our Holy Sanctuary where
we can always find a safe haven.
296
294 Savior
For unto you is born this day in the city of
David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11
Savior is defined as: “deliverer or
preserver.”
Christ the Lord is Our Savior!
Only He can deliver and preserve our
souls from the eternal consequences of
our sins.
297
295 Savior of All Men
For therefore we both labour and suffer
reproach, because we trust in the
living God, who is the Saviour of all men,
specially of those that believe.
1 Tim. 4:10
There is only ONE Savior for “All
Men.”
The Gospel of Our Savior Jesus Christ
is adequate to save all people, but it is
only effective in saving those who
come to Him by faith.
Therefore, ALL MEN have been
purchased by His blood.
However, salvation is only actually
given to those that believe in Him.
298
296 Savior of the World
And we have seen and do testify that the
Father sent the Son [to be] the
Saviour of the world.
1 John 4:14
God intended for all men to have
salvation through Jesus Christ Who
died for the sins of the world:
“And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for
ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole
world.” – 1 John 2:2
And it is the command of all believers
to TESTIFY about Our Savior to the
rest of the world:
“And he commanded us to preach unto the people,
and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to
be the Judge of quick and dead.”
Acts 10:42
299
297 Sceptre
I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold
him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out
of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of
Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab,
and destroy all the children of Sheth.
Num. 24:17
A “scepter” is: “a staff or rod; a
symbol of leadership as well as
protection.”
Jesus is Our Scepter!
He has all the power to rule and to
protect:
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art]
with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
Ps. 23:4
300
298 Second Man
The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second
man [is] the Lord from heaven.
1 Cor. 15:47
The “second man” is Our Lord Jesus
Christ.
He came down from heaven to save us
from the sins inherited by the “first
man,” Adam.
301
299 Secret
And the angel of the LORD said unto him,
Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it
[is] secret?
Jud. 13:18
Secret in this Scripture means:
“something which appears
supernatural; something that is
wonderful, incomprehensible,
extraordinary.”
Jesus is Our Wonderful Savior!!!
Jesus is Our Incomprehensible
Lord!!!
Jesus is Our Extraordinary Friend!!!
302
300 Seed
Now to Abraham and his seed were the
promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as
of many; but as of one, And to thy seed,
which is Christ.
Gal. 3:16
God made promises of a nation to
Abraham and his descendants.
However, His promise of a Blessing
comes to every nation through faith in
only one of Abraham’s “seed” . . .
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
303
301 Separate From Sinners
For such an high priest became us, [who is]
holy, harmless, undefiled,
separate from sinners, and made higher
than the heavens;
Heb. 7:26
Jesus was the only Human born
without sin:
“For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no
sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in
him.” – 2 Cor. 5:21
Therefore, although Jesus lived among
mankind—He was separated from us
due to His sinless nature.
304
302 Servant
But made himself of no reputation, and took
upon him the form of a servant, and was
made in the likeness of men:
Phil. 2:7
Servant is defined as: “one who gives
himself up to another's will.”
Jesus became God’s Servant and only
carried out the will of His Father:
“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge:
and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own
will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
John 5:30
305
303 Shepherd and Bishop of Your
Souls
For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now
returned unto the
Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
1 Pet. 2:25
The title Bishop is defined as:
“guardian or superintendent.”
In the New Testament, bishops were
appointed to watch over and safeguard
the interest of the church.
Christ is our Divine Guardian and
Bishop, Who watches over our very
souls.
He provides supervision, direction,
protection, and defense through His
Holy Spirit.
And He will lead us to eternal
salvation.
306
304 Shepherd of Israel
Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that
leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest
[between] the cherubims, shine forth.
Ps. 80:1
Jesus was sent by God to be the Great
Shepherd of His wayward flock, the
nation of Israel.
Only He can lead us back to Our
Father’s glory when we sin.
307
305 Shepherd Seeking Out His
Flock
As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the
day that he is among his sheep that are
scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and
will deliver them out of all places where they
have been scattered in the cloudy and dark
day.
Ezek. 34:12
As any Good Shepherd, Our Lord and
Savior Jesus searches for all of His
sheep who are lost. He will not rest until every one of us
that was hidden during the dark and
cloudy days of our lives is found!
308
306 Shield of Faith
Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the
fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph. 6:16
The “shield” used in this Scripture
was a large, oblong, four cornered
shield which covered the whole body
of the Roman soldier.
One of the definitions for faith is: “a
strong and welcome conviction or
belief that Jesus is the Messiah,
through whom we obtain eternal
salvation in the kingdom of God.”
When we profess our belief in Our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, He
becomes Our Shield of Faith!
This most important piece of “armor”
is needed to withstand the fiery darts
(attacks) of Satan.
309
307 Shiloh
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor
a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh
come; and unto him [shall] the gathering of
the people [be].
Gen. 49:10
Jesus is referred to as “Shiloh;” this
name means: “He whose right it is.”
Our Savior established His authority
as the Son of God and His right to rule
God’s kingdom on earth as in Heaven:
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All
power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
Matt. 28:18
310
308 Sign
And Simeon blessed them, and said unto
Mary his mother, Behold, this [child] is set
for the fall and rising again of many in
Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken
against;
Luke 2:34
Jesus is a Blessed Sign from God of
the wonders which are to come to
those who believe in Him.
He will help us to rise again and
again whenever we fall!
However, non-believers will
repeatedly speak against Him.
311
309 Smitten of God
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried
our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken,
smitten of God, and afflicted.
Is. 53:4
Smitten means: “to slay or kill.”
Jesus was purposely smitten or slain
for our sins . . . by His Own Father!!!
“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him
up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely
give us all things?” – Rom. 8:32
312
310 Son
And we have seen and do testify that the
Father sent the Son [to be] the
Saviour of the world.
1 John 4:14
God sent His Son to be Our Savior.
What an Unspeakable Gift!!!
313
311 Son of David
And when Jesus departed thence, two blind
men followed him, crying, and saying, [Thou]
Son of David, have mercy on us.
Matt. 9:27
“Son of David” was a title used to
signify that David was an ancestor of
Jesus.
Jesus was an actual descendant of
David through his mother, Mary,
(whose father Heli was in the line of
David).
Thus God's promise about the heritage
of the Messiah was fulfilled:
“Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has
visited and redeemed his people. He has sent us a
mighty Savior from the royal line of his servant
David,” - Luke 1:68-69 (NLT)
314
312 Son of God
And, behold, they cried out, saying, What
have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of
God? art thou come hither to torment us
before the time?
Matt. 8:29
“Son of God” is the distinctive title of
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
By His divine nature, Jesus Christ is
the True Son of the Living God . . .
and even the demons knew His real
identity!
315
313 Son of Joseph
Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him,
We have found him, of whom Moses in the
law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of
Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
John 1:45
“Son of Joseph” is a title used in the
New Testament to recognize Joseph as
Christ’s earthly father (although Mary
was actually His blood relative).
He was an example of extraordinary
faith, belief and obedience:
“Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of
the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn
son: and he called his name JESUS.”
Matt. 1:24-25
316
314 Son of Man
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea
Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying,
Whom do men say that I the Son of man
am?
Matt. 16:13
Jesus refers to Himself as Son of man
to indicate His essential unity with
mankind and His purpose:
“Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered
unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for
many.” – Matt. 18:11
317
315 Son of Mary
Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the
brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and
Simon? and are not his sisters here with us?
And they were offended at him.
Mark 6:3
Jesus entered into the world as a
human through His mother Mary:
“And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for
thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou
shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son,
and shalt call his name JESUS.” – Matt. 1:30-31
But, because He had a human birth,
people resented the fact that Jesus
presented Himself as the Son of God.
318
316 Son of the Blessed
But he held his peace, and answered nothing.
Again the high priest asked him, and said
unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the
Blessed?
Mark 14:61
“The Blessed” refers to Our Father
God . . . so Jesus is the Son of the
Blessed!
Therefore, this title is another
reference to Jesus as the Son of God.
319
317 Son of the Father
Grace be with you, mercy, [and] peace, from
God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus
Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and
love.
2 John 1:3
The title “Son of the Father”
acknowledges that Jesus is indeed the
Son of Our Father God.
Grace, mercy, and peace will be with
you from God the Father and from His
Son!
320
318 Son of the Highest
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son
of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give
unto him the throne of his father David:
Luke 1:32
The “Highest” refers to “the Most
High God.”
The angel is informing Mary that her
Child will be given a kingdom and
shall be called the Son of the Most
High God!
321
319 Son of the Living God
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ,
the Son of the living God.
Matt. 16:16
Jesus is the Son of a Living God!
He is not the Son of a marble statue or
a lifeless image that cannot see, hear,
feel, or think.
322
320 Spiritual Drink
And did all drink the same spiritual drink:
for they drank of that spiritual Rock that
followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
1 Cor. 10:4
Jesus Christ was present with Israel in
the wilderness and even provided for
their most vital need which was water:
“Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness,
[wherein were] fiery serpents, and scorpions, and
drought, where [there was] no water; who brought thee
forth water out of the rock of flint;” - Deut. 8:15
Therefore, as He was with them, Jesus
shall also be with us . . . providing all
believers with the refreshing
“Spiritual Drink” of His goodness
and mercy.
323
321 Stone of Israel
But his bow abode in strength, and the arms
of his hands were made strong by the hands
of the mighty [God] of Jacob; (from thence
[is] the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
Gen. 49:24
The term “stone” in this Scripture
means: “strength, firmness, solidity.”
Jesus is the Stone of Israel.
He is our strength when we are weak,
and His gospel is solid, firm and
everlasting.
324
322 Stone of Stumbling
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of
offence, [even to them] which stumble
at the word, being disobedient: whereunto
also they were appointed.
1 Pet. 2:8
Stumbling means: “a stumbling block
or an obstacle in the way which if one
strikes his foot against he stumbles or
falls.”
Jesus is a Stone of Stumbling . . .
meaning that those who refuse to build
on His Word, will instead stumble
over Him and fall into sin.
325
323 Sun of Righteousness
But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun
of righteousness arise with healing in his
wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as
calves of the stall.
Mal. 4:2
When Our Lord and Savior, the Sun
of Righteousness shines, we need no
other light or warmth.
His “rays” will bring healing, joy and
wholeness.
326
324 Sure and Steadfast
Which [hope] we have as an anchor of the
soul, both sure and stedfast, and which
entereth into that within the veil;
Heb. 6:19
Sure and steadfast means: “that
which can be relied on; constant,
unshaken.”
Jesus can always be relied on.
He is steadfast, unshaken,
EVERLASTING!
327
325 Sure Foundation
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I
lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried
stone, a precious corner [stone], a sure
foundation: he that believeth shall not make
haste.
Is. 28:16
A “sure foundation” is a solid
foundation—secure and stable.
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
the “Sure Foundation” of our faith.
The phrase make haste means: “to be
ashamed.”
We can build everything on the sure,
secure and stable love of Our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ without fear or
shame . . . because He will never ever
fail us!!!
328
326 Surety
By so much was Jesus made a Surety of a
better testament.
Heb 7:22
Surety is defined as: “a bail or
personal guarantee.”
Jesus paid our “bail” with His blood.
He is Our Surety and Personal
Guarantee of eternal salvation!
329
327 Sweetsmelling Savor
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved
us, and hath given himself for us an offering
and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling
savour.
Eph. 5:2
“Sweetsmelling” in this Scripture is
defined as: “a thing well pleasing to
God.”
The life and ministry of Christ was
well-pleasing to His Father:
“For he received from God the Father honour and
glory, when there came such a voice to him from
the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in
whom I am well pleased.” – 2 Pet. 1:17
330
328 Sword of the Spirit
And take the helmet of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the word of
God:
Eph. 6:17
The “sword of the Spirit” is a
doubled-edged sword used by the
Roman soldiers to both protect and to
defend.
Jesus, the Word of God, is Our Sword
against evil forces which try to destroy
us:
“I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have
known him [that is] from the beginning. I have
written unto you, young men, because ye are
strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye
have overcome the wicked one.” – 1 John 2:14
331
329 Testator
For where a testament [is], there must also of
necessity be the death of the testator.
Heb. 9:16
A “testator” is: “one who makes a
testament (or covenant).”
However, he who makes a covenant
does so at the expense of a life.
Jesus, Who is the Mediator of a new
covenant . . . is The One Whose death
was necessary.
Therefore, He is Our Precious
Testator!
332
330 That Man Whom HE Hath
Ordained
Because he hath appointed a day, in the
which he will judge the world in
righteousness by [that] man whom he hath
ordained; [whereof] he hath given assurance
unto all [men], in that he hath raised him
from the dead.
Acts 17:31
Jesus was Ordained or “appointed”
by Our Father to judge all men.
Therefore, we must keep in mind that
someday we all will have to stand
before the judgment seat of Christ and
explain our actions.
333
331 That which Was From the
Beginning
That which was from the beginning, which
we have heard, which we have seen with our
eyes, which we have looked upon, and our
hands have handled, of the Word of life;
1 John 1:1
Jesus is the Second Person of the
Trinity. Therefore, He existed at the
beginning of time—before the world
was even created:
“And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine
own self with the glory which I had with thee
before the world was.” – John 17:5
334
332 That Worthy Name
Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by
the which ye are called?
Jam. 2:7
Listed below are all the definitions for
the term “worthy:”
“beautiful, excellent, eminent,
choice, surpassing, precious,
useful, suitable commendable,
admirable, good, excellent in its
nature and characteristics, and
therefore well adapted to its ends;
genuine, approved, competent,
able, praiseworthy, noble,
beautiful by reason of purity of
heart and life, morally good,
honorable, conferring honor,
affecting the mind agreeably,
comforting and confirming.”
How “Worthy” is the NAME of
Jesus!!!
335
333 The Arm of the Lord
Who hath believed our report? and to whom
is the arm of the LORD revealed?
Is. 53:1
The "arm of the Lord" refers to the
second person in the trinity, Our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ.
Another definition for arm is “strength or
power; a helper or companion.”
Jesus is the Power of God, sent to battle the
forces of darkness which seek to destroy us.
He is also Our Helper and Companion—
guiding us by His Holy Spirit through the
traps and pitfalls set by Satan.
Therefore, when we ask “to whom is
the Arm of the LORD revealed?” . . .
we are, in fact, asking . . . “who is it
that receives the strength, power and
help of Jesus Christ?”
And the answer is: all those who believe in
Him!
336
334 The Bread Which Came Down
From Heaven
The Jews then murmured at him, because he
said, I am the bread which came down from
heaven.
John 6:41
Jesus is the Spiritual Bread sent from
heaven by God to feed our souls.
The reason the Jews were offended
was because Jesus claimed His origin
to be from heaven.
They had heard of angels coming
down from heaven, but never of a
man.
However, they blatantly overlooked
the proofs (miracles) Jesus had given
them of His being more than just a
man.
337
335 The Door
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he
shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and
find pasture.
John 10:9
The "Door" is the name of “Him who
brings salvation to those who follow
His guidance.”
Our Lord and Savior is the only One
who can bring salvation to us.
Therefore, Jesus Christ is the only
Door or way into the kingdom of the
Most High God.
338
336 The End
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
the end, the first and the last.
Rev. 22:13
“The End” does not refer to the end of
the world. In Greek, the word “end”
in this Scripture means: “the
termination or the limit at which a
thing ceases to be.” Or in other words,
the end of a person's life.
The end also means “toll or
customs.”
Therefore, Our Lord and Savior is
stating that after we die, He is the
“toll” we all must pay before entering
into the eternal kingdom of God.
Trusting in His holy name and being
obedient to His Word —will guarantee
our everlasting salvation:
“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same
shall be saved.” - Matt. 24:13
339
337 The Glory in the Midst
For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall
of fire round about, and will be
the glory in the midst of her.
Zech. 2:5
Glory in this Scripture means:
“majesty or splendor.”
Our Glorious Majestic Savior Christ
Jesus was sent by Our Father God to
reside in the midst of us forever.
340
338 The Just
But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and
desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
Acts 3:14
“The Just” is a term used of a person
whose way of thinking, feeling and
acting is: “wholly conformed to the
will of God, and who therefore needs
no alteration in his heart or life.”
This description can only be applied to
just One Person . . . Our Just Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ.
341
339 The King in His Beauty
Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty:
they shall behold the land that is very far off.
Is. 33:17
The term “beauty” in this Scripture
means: “splendor or brightness.”
The greatest glory of reaching
heaven—will be to see our Splendid,
Beautiful Savior Jesus Christ in His
magnificent kingdom!
342
340 The Life
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the
truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me.
John 14:6
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
“The Life!”
The only way we can come to Our
Father God and have eternal life . . . is
in and through Christ.
343
341 The Man Christ Jesus
For [there is] one God, and one mediator
between God and men, the man Christ
Jesus;
1 Tim. 2:5
Jesus Christ became a Man in order to
dwell with us on earth and be our
Intercessor or Mediator with Our
Father God:
“And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant,
and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better
things than [that of] Abel.” – Heb. 12:24
344
342 The Resurrection
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection,
and the life: he that believeth in me, though
he were dead, yet shall he live:
John 11:25
Resurrection means: “a rising from
the dead.”
Belief in Christ will assure us eternal
life by “a rising from the death” of
our flesh bodies.
345
343 The Rock That is Higher Than I
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee,
when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to
the rock [that] is higher than I.
Ps. 61:2
Although trials and tribulations in our
lives can appear as great rocks
looming over us, we must stop and
imagine an even “Higher Rock” . . .
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is Great enough and Powerful
enough to overcome even the most
overwhelming of our problems!
346
344 The Same Yesterday, and
Today and Forever
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day,
and for ever.
Heb. 13:8
Jesus has an unchanging nature,
steadfast and unmovable.
He is the same Christ today—as He
was at the beginning of time.
And He will be the same Christ
tomorrow and forever . . . as He is
today!
347
345 The Tree of Life
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that
overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of
life, which is in the midst of the paradise of
God.
Rev. 2:17
Jesus is “Our Tree of Life!”
Those who partake of His Precious
Body shall have everlasting life:
“And when he had given thanks, he brake [it], and said,
“Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you:
this do in remembrance of me.”
1 Cor. 11:24
348
346 The Truth
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth,
and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me.
John 14:6
The word “truth” in this Scripture is
defined as: “what is true in any matter
under consideration.”
Jesus IS . . . The Truth!
There is nothing false in Him. His
words, thoughts, statements, and
actions are always true—no matter
what the circumstances may be.
349
347 The Veil
By a new and living way, which he hath
consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to
say, his flesh;
Heb. 10:20
A veil is defined as: “a curtain or
covering.”
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
Our Veil!
His precious blood covers us . . . so
that our sins are hidden from God.
350
348 The Way
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth,
and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me.
John 14:6
The definition of the way is: “a
manner of thinking, feeling or
deciding.”
We have to decide whether or not to
follow Christ.
He is THE ONLY WAY to eternal
salvation!
Other ways may seem right—but they
can only lead to the way of death.
351
349 The Wisdom of God
But unto them which are called, both Jews
and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the
wisdom of God.
1 Cor. 1:24
The Greek word for “wisdom”
means: “supreme intelligence, such
as belongs to God; or the knowledge
and practice of the basics for godly
and upright living.”
God's wisdom is not man's wisdom
multiplied to the highest degree; it is
of a different order altogether.
Only Jesus Christ could be the
“Wisdom of God.”
He alone possesses this wisdom—
because only He knows the true mind
of God and can communicate this
knowledge to us.
352
350 The Word
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1
The Greek definition for Word is
“logos” meaning: the personal
wisdom and power of God.
The Word was the power that set the
world in perfect order and gave it
perfect peace.
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is
“The Word!”
He is Logos . . . the personal wisdom
and power of God.
Faith in Christ will keep our inner
world (our soul) in perfect peace when
the outside world around us is in total
chaos:
“Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose]
mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in
thee.” – Is. 23:6
353
351 True Bread from Heaven
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I
say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread
from heaven; but my Father giveth you the
true bread from heaven. John 6:32
Jesus is the “True Bread” from
heaven that you must feast on to have
life.
Only He can satisfy your spiritual
hunger!
354
352 True Light
[That] was the true Light, which lighteth
every man that cometh into the world.
John 1:9
Christ enlightens every man that
comes into the world with His gospel
of love and forgiveness.
Our True Light dispels the darkness
due to our sins.
355
353 True Vine
I am the true vine, and my Father is the
husbandman.
John 15:1
Jesus is the “True Vine” . . . planted
by God!
False vines (false prophets) were
neither planted nor cultivated by Our
Father.
Therefore, they are not capable of
giving life to their branches.
356
354 Undefiled
For such an high priest became us, [who is]
holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from
sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Heb. 7:26
Undefiled means: “free from sin.”
Only Our Holy Undefiled Savior, free
from all sin, could atone for all the
sins of man.
357
355 Unspeakable Gift
Thanks [be] unto God for his unspeakable gift.
2 Cor. 9:15
Unspeakable in this Scripture is
defined as: “indescribable.”
Our Father God gave us a Present that
is beyond description . . . His Beloved
Son Jesus Christ, Our Precious
Unspeakable Gift!!!
358
356 Upholder of All Things
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the
express image of his person, and upholding all
things by the word of his power, when he had by
himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand
of the Majesty on high;
Heb. 1:3
The word upholding in his Scripture
means “maintaining.” Therefore, the “Upholder” would be
the One Who Maintains (preserves,
continues, or sustains). In His earthly ministry Jesus
constantly demonstrated the power of
His Word. He could heal, forgive, cast
out demons, and calm nature’s fury
just by speaking. Thus, His word is so powerful that it
can uphold all things!
359
357 Very Christ
But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say
nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed
that this is the very Christ?
John 7:26
In this chapter, Jesus is speaking to his
enemies and the people are astonished
at His boldness.
His courage and complete lack of fear
lets everyone know that without a
doubt . . . HE IS THE VERY
CHRIST that the rulers sought to kill!
360
358
Wall of Fire
For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall
of fire round about, and will be the glory in
the midst of her.
Zech. 2:5
Our Lord and Savior Our Wall of
Fire” . . . which cannot be climbed,
nor broken through, nor tunneled
under.
Therefore, we never have any reason
to fear our enemies when Jesus Christ
is “round about!”
361
359 Which is, Which was, Which
is to come
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and
which was, and which is to come, the
Almighty.
Rev. 1:8
This Scripture reveals that Jesus is
ETERNAL!
He is . . . Which Is . . . present during
the life of each and every human
being!
He was . . . Which Was . . . present
before mankind was created!
And He will be . . . Which Is To Come
. . . reigning over the earth after the
“physical” death of every one!
362
360 Whom God Hath Raised Up
Whom God hath raised up, having loosed
the pains of death: because it was not
possible that he should be holden of it.
Acts 2:24
Jesus was sent by God to be put to
death in order to save mankind from
an eternal death.
However, Our Father never intended
for His Son to remain among the dead.
Therefore, Jesus was “The One
Whom God Raised Up” after His
death.
This means that He was resurrected
and returned to His former glory,
which He possessed before the world
began.
363
361 Whom They Have Pierced
And I will pour upon the house of David, and
upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit
of grace and of supplications: and they shall
look upon me whom they have pierced, and
they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth
for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness
for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his]
firstborn.
Zec. 12:10
“Whom They Have Pierced” is not
only a description of Our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ —but also, how
He was crucified.
His head was pierced with thorns, His
hands and feet were pierced with nails,
and a spear pierced His side.
364
362 Wonderful
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is
given: and the government shall be upon his
shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The
everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Is. 9:6
The title Wonderful means:
“admirable or distinguished.”
Jesus is Our Admirable and
Distinguished Savior . . . and Worthy
to be praised!
365
363 Word of God
And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped
in blood: and his name is called
The Word of God.
Rev. 19:13
The essential “Word of God” is Jesus
Christ.
He alone is not only the personal
Wisdom and Power of God—but He is
also the Intermediate Agent by which
God communicates with man.
366
364 Word of Life
That which was from the beginning, which we
have heard, which we have seen with our
eyes, which we have looked upon, and our
hands have handled, of the Word of life;
1 John 1:1
Jesus is the “Word of Life” . . . the
Living Word . . . the Word of God
which gives us life:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:6
367
365 Young Child
When they had heard the king, they
departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in
the east, went before them, till it came and stood
over where the young child was.
Matt. 2:9
Jesus had to enter this world as a
human in order to save us from our
sins.
And although He was a Young Child,
innocent and fragile, His life was still
threatened by men who were afraid of
His power.
