A message from the Principal:

Dear Parents,

Welcome to term 4! It is difficult to comprehend how quickly this year has passed. All of the

grades have settled well and I am looking forward to another excellent term to finish off the

year.

Casual Clothes Day– Monday October 22nd

We will be having a casual clothes day this Monday. The money raised will be used to purchase

items for our Christmas raffle. I would like to thank our parents who are organizing the raffle.

Mini Olympics Fun Day Monday

Our students in Prep to Grade 3 are having their annual athletics carnival on the school oval

this Monday. The day is run by Mr Rayner, Mrs Psaila-McDonald and our student leaders. Can I

please ask that all students are dressed appropriately, have their water bottle and a hat? If the

weather is warm it may be prudent to put sunscreen on your child. This is a regular school ac-

tivity hence we do not require parental assistance on this day.

Unusual Happenings!

Our students were required to stay in on Friday as we had a couple of birds that were swooping

at anyone walking through our yard. We were able to remove the birds nest and the birds have

rarely been seen at the school and are displaying no aggressive behavior. Our students stayed

in on Tuesday at lunchtime as there was an alert regarding the weather and the effects on asth-

matics.

Car Park

Can I please remind all parents that the car park is to be used by staff only? The only time a

parent should park in the staff car park is if they are dropping or picking up their child from our

care program or there is a genuine emergency. I find it really frustrating that our staff have to

remind parents of this rule . It is simply not safe for children to walk in this unsupervised area

where cars are coming in and out regularly and we have limited spaces for our large staff.

2019

Please let the office know if you are leaving our school and will not be here next year. Please

also contact the office if you have an enrolment for next year.

Kind Regards, Chris

Regional Athletics Competitions 2018

Congratulations to Alicia G. 5PL, Lachlan C. 5PL, Liam A. 6KK & George G. 6KK for qualifying to compete at

the Regional Athletics Competitions on Tuesday 16th October at Keilor Park Athletics Track.

Competition was intense, all were up against ‘The Best in the West’. Our students demonstrated a tre-

mendous positive sporting attitude by cheering-on their peers and other competitors.

We are proud of their results and gutsy efforts. Each shall be rewarded medals presented to them at

assembly.

Thank you for your interest in the Taylors Lakes Primary School Movie & Market Night for 2018!

Each year we run the event to help raise money for the School, and create links with the wider community.

This year the night will be held on Friday the 7th of December, from 4.30pm-8.00pm. You will be welcome to come and set up from 4:00pm on the day. The cost of holding a stall is $30 for a single site (3mx3m). All stalls will be located outside on the basketball court or on the oval so we suggest bringing a marquee which will need to be weighted down efficiently. You will need to supply your own tables & chairs and anything else required for your stall.

An invoice will be emailed with payment details once your stall has been accepted.

You will get confirmation of acceptance by Monday 26th November 2018

If you have any questions regarding this event, or special requirements for your stall please contact us via email so that we can get back to you. [email protected] a mobile contact number will be provided for contact on the day of the event. Sincerely,

Fundraising Committee of Taylors Lakes Primary School
