CorrectionIn the last newsletter we congratulated Josh R for winning the State Title in Quad Racing – 125 class, this was not correct. Josh won the 50cc Demo class title and his brother Bailey won the Junior ATV 90-125cc State Title.

We apologise for the error and congratulate both boys on this great achievement.

Bailey is pictured with his trophy.

Mrs Conroy’s Show BagsAs part of our Spelling Contract we designed and constructed show bags from a fl at net using our Ferris wheel guide. It was quite tricky to fold and glue the pieces together.

Spare ClothesThe school has a small supply of spare clothes for students to use when accidents occur. Families are asked to wash and return borrowed items as soon as possible to enable other students to use them as required. If you are able to assist with donations of additional underwear in small sizes or long pants and t-shirts in all sizes, please contact the front offi ce – all donations will be gratefully accepted.

Book Week 2016Thank you to everyone for helping us to celebrate Book Week. We had a busy time in the library, transforming it into the various areas around Australia. Fish swam through the picture books, a waterfall fl owed through the rainforest in non-fi ction, a city grew around the circulation bench and native animals appeared all around the library, and that was just part of the display! During this time we were able to organise a visit from Phil Cummings, a great children’s author, who inspired our students in the writing process, sharing how he comes up with the ideas for his stories and how they evolve into a published book. Book Week ended with a dress-up parade in the gym, where we were once again amazed by the brilliant costumes that students and families created. It was a fun way to end our celebrations. Thank you all again for the wonderful support during Book Week.

Sports Voucher ProgramWhat is the Sports Vouchers program? The Sports Vouchers program is a Government of South Australia initiative administered by the Offi ce for Recreation and Sport. The program provides an opportunity for primary school aged children from Reception to Year 7 to receive up to a $50 discount on sports membership/registration fees. The purpose is to increase the number of children playing organised sport by reducing cost as a barrier to participate in sport.

Who is eligible for the program? All South Australian primary school aged children, meaning if the child is attending or is eligible to attend primary school. Remember it is one voucher for every primary school aged child per calendar year. To fi nd your nearest provider please use the ‘Find a Club’ tool.

How does the program work? There are currently two methods of claiming a voucher. The method depends on the providers system. Some sports and providers have online registrations, claiming the voucher has been integrated into their systems.

If the provider does not have the voucher integrated into their online registrations, you’ll need to download the voucher. Once completed, take the voucher to an approved provider to receive a discount on the fees when you register at the provider.

Providers access the secure Voucher Portal to redeem vouchers and receive reimbursement.
