A macramé Santa hanging decoration Make Santa using the macramé knot technique around a small wooden ring using cotton twine. Small wooden beads are used for the pom-pom at the top of the hat. Inspiration: 15749 1 Cut 10 pieces of white cotton twine each measuring 30 cm. Cut 7 pieces of red cotton twine, each measuring 30 cm. Finally cut a 60 cm piece of red cotton twine. 2 Braid all the pieces of cotton twine around the wooden ring as shown in the photo. The long red piece of cotton twine must be in the middle.

1Cut 10 pieces of white cotton twine eachmeasuring 30 cm. Cut 7 pieces of redcotton twine, each measuring 30 cm.Finally cut a 60 cm piece of red cottontwine.
2Braid all the pieces of cotton twinearound the wooden ring as shown in thephoto. The long red piece of cotton twinemust be in the middle.
3Place the template which is available as aseparate PDF file on this page onto anunderlay which you can push pins into.Secure the wooden ring with a couple ofpins and start braiding the white beard asshown. Divide the cords into 5 equalbunches with 4 cords in each. The twocords in the middle are the "middle cord"and the two outside cords are "braidingcords". See the braiding illustration on thetemplate. Tie a know on all five bunches.
4Divide the cords so that you braid withcords from each side. See the dots in thetemplate; each dot equals a braidingknot. Trim the ends when you havefinished braiding the beard.
5Turn over and start working with the redpieces of cotton twine. Divide the cottontwine into 5 bunches; only two pieces ofcotton twine at each of the outer sidesand 4 pieces of cotton twine in the 3bunches in the middle as shown in thephoto. Make two macramé knots in the 3middle bunches. Now make macraméknots for every dot in the template.
6Take the second outer piece of cottontwine and wrap it twice around the otherpiece of cotton twine as shown in thephoto. Now take the next piece of cottontwine and wind it around the first twopieces of cotton twine.
7Continue until you have reached thepoint. Repeat this procedure on the otherside.
8Gather all the ends by making two macramé knots around all the pieces ofcotton twine with the last two ends.
9Trim all the ends except the two longestpieces of cotton twine.
10Thread wooden beads onto the twopieces of red cotton twine and finish witha knot for hanging.
