Background In a bid to understand the social well being of the employed in US we would like to explore insights into labor market.

To acquire insights into this market we conducted a labor market assessment of the Northern Central States.

Data of 6366 employees in 2014 from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics was used to seek various influencers of the market

ConclusionsAverage working hours at 42.2 hours are slightly above the normal 40 hours a week.

Years spent in gaining extra skills though education programmes pays. Most employees who have spent many yrs. In education earn more. This is seen as there is a high positive correlation between years in education & yearly earnings

There is a high poverty index and expected high crime rate among Blacks, Asians & IndEsk. They are lowly represented in the US job market. This translates to poor social economic status among them.

High dependency ratio is expected among women who are under represented as well.

Inter state migration is foreseen as people will tend to move to states with high employment rates.
