A life cycle of a Snow Leopard
By Orla Egleston
BirthBirth is when the mother gives birth and produces
new life.
A snow leopard does not open it’s eyes until it is about seven days old.
two-three cubs are born at the same time
When the cub is a baby it is small, weak and helpless.
Cubs are born with black and white spots and grow up the same colour.
When the cub is two months old it is ready to eat solid food.
GrowthGrowth is when the cub grows up and turns into an
adult.
Any cub learns to hunt when they are three months.
Any Snow Leopard is known to leap up to thirty feet.
when a snow Leopard is two years old it sets off and travels on its own leaving it’s parents behind.
ReproductionReproduction is when the adult has babies of it’s own
Two-three babies are born at one time.
A Snow Leopard mother is pregnant for 93-110 days. When the cub is born the mother provides it
food/water and shelter.
Snow Leopards mate in late winter between January and mid March. Males and females stay together for a
short time and males do not help rear the cubs.
DeathDeath is when the Snow Leopard passes away.A
Snow Leopard lives for as long as twenty-one years.Their are up to six thousand Snow Leopards
living in twelve different countries but numbers are decreasing. We need to protect them. The Snow Leopards are an endangered species.
