A level photography summer task
During the summer break think about the theme for your portfolio,
you can choose your own or use one of mine:-
JUXTAPOSE/ ISOLATION/ DISORDER/ HIDDEN AWAY/
GROW/ CONTAINMENT
You need to investigate your chosen theme in depth to consider what social, moral, religious or
political comment might be made within this theme?
Part1. Create a Pinterest board of photographs based on your theme. Look at a wide
range of ideas to inspire your own work. Aim to pin 30+ photographs.
Part 2. Take a number of photographs based on this theme and think about whether
you are exploring this through portrait, still life, landscape, documentary, architectural
photography etc.
Successful photography takes trial and error, you should aim to take over 100 pictures
to ensure you achieve images you are happy with, ready to edit.
Think carefully about the following:
Composition including what is happening in the background.
Exposure
Perspective
You will need to bring in a folder of your images ready to edit on your SD card or USB.
You will be asked to display to the group your best 6 and talk about what you were
trying to achieve and why you think your photographs are effective.
These images will be the first pieces of practical work to feature in your A level
portfolio.

For each of my themes, I used Pinterest to gain some ideas, have a look at what I found. Can you guess what my favourite type of photography is?
