Indulang is a native word coming from the
word Dulang in dialect meaning “Telad or Mama”.
This Telad or Mama is the mixtures of boyo
leaves, bunga, apog and tobacco leaves. Usually,
this were being used by the natives during special
occasions like wedding, settlings of crimes such
as killings, kidnapping and grabbing of wives. The
moment crimes occur; the Datus will sit together
and brought with them the so called Telad or
Mama.

Telad costs a certain amount
which resulted to payment of
damages and fines.
When visitors arrived in their
barrio looking for the Datus with a
casual question in their own dialect,
“Hindu si Datu”? , meaning where is
Datu. In answer to the question, they
will say, “ Diya ta nagdulang”. Then
they named the place INDULANG.
