At the start of 2008, junk food and sugar-filled soft drinks were banned
from vending machines and stores in all of B.C.’s schools.

At the start of 2008, junk food and sugar-filled soft drinks were banned
from vending machines and stores in all of B.C.’s schools.

At one Burnaby school, 3 entrepreneurial students, branding their services with the name “Original Fresh,” loaded up on candy and started selling the contraband snacks from their lockers.

The media soon caught whiff of the story, and the issue caused quite a
stir for the school board and the Ministry of Health.

Captivated by the story on the news I contacted the trio.

They didn’t need to keep selling candy to raise money for charity.

I redesigned their logo...

...and suggested selling a t-shirt because they have a higher profit margin than candy.

The kids loved it
An“Original Fresh Passport” was attached to every shirt. This was
integrated with the Original Fresh Facebook group.

Each shirt had a number. These numbers were drawn and posted on Facebook.
Prizes ranged from t-shirts to stickers.

Results?- 50 Shirts Sold- Over $500 Raised for Charity- 150 New Facebook Group Members- Turning a Negative into a Positive- Happier Ministry of Health- Happier School Board- Happier Gordon Campbell- A Clear Conscience

The $500 went to Children’s Hospital
