Leeds art-rock five piece The Golden Age of TV have had a busy start to their music career, despite forming just over a year ago. With only two tracks re-leased (‘Dust’ and ‘Between Each Brick’), both have garnered BBC Radio 1 support from Huw Stephens, as well as airplay from BBC Radio 6 and Amaz-ing Radio. They have also received praise from established national blogs such as DIY Magazine, Clash, Too Many Blogs and more.

This summer, they sub-headlined the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading and Leeds Festival after being sent an invitation, alongside a collection of oth-er ear-marked bands tipped for success.

In their short career the band have already taken in exciting support slots with the likes of Toothles (Ed Nash of Bombay Bicycle Club), Fickle Friends and Alex Cameron (frontman of Seekae), with coveted slots at UK’s premiere new music festivals such as Live at Leeds and Liverpool Sound City.

Complete with angular guitars, lively drums and impassioned vocals, ’Dust’ is an invigorating insight into TGAOTV’s sound. There is a continuing narrative un-dertone to their slick, guitar-driven music; telling unique stories forged by front woman Bea Fletcher.

‘Dust’ was recorded at Greenmount studios with producers Lee Smith (The Cribs, Submotion Orchestra, Pulled Apart By Horses) and Jamie Lockhart (Post War Glamour Girls, The Tailors, iForwardRussia!).

Guitarist Ryan Bird elaborates, “Dust is about someone who is sabotaging the good memories from the past relationship. It’s very sarcastic in tone, as it’s such an upbeat song, yet the lyrics are from the perspective of someone bat-tling to hang on to the happier times. Each of us can relate to how frustrating that can feel, so the song means a lot to us.”
