Green Living: The Dishwasher! You may think that your dishwasher is using a lot of energy, but in fact it is more energy-efficient to run your dishwasher than to hand wash your dishes. Dishwashers use considerably less water than hand washing does. You’ll conserve even more by not rinsing your dishes before loading your dishwasher. Simply scrape the plates and place in the racks.

They use their heads!

Last Month’s Answer to: Why do soccer players do well in school?

You throw away the outside and cook the inside. You eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?

Dan SawyerWhere are you from?

I was born and raised in P-Town (Pacifica), and happy to still call it home!

How long have you worked in (your department) at DataSafe? I’ve been in Operations since I was hired in June of 2007.

In January 2008, I was promoted to Driver, before moving to the role of Dispatcher in November 2008.

My next opportunity with DataSafe was as Operations Manager of SSF. In September of 2017, I was promoted to manage Operations for both our Newark and SSF locations.

Favorite part of working at DataSafe? I’ve made a lot of friends here and have learned so much

professionally. Every day I’m seeing how our teams make the extra effort to constantly improve, and it shows that our work culture emphasizes the importance of understanding what each department encounters each day.

What do you enjoy the most about your role?Solving challenges pro-actively and finding even more

efficient ways to offer solutions for our wide range of clients’ needs every day.

When you’re not being a rock star at DataSafe, tell us what you enjoy:I enjoy spending time with my family, working on cars,

camping, watching & supporting my favorite bay teams: the 49ers, Giants, and Warriors.

Tell us a little about your hobbies or surprising skills? For fun, I like to build cars and sometimes I’ll take my

car to the track. No surprising skills- but I am pretty useful with most tools you’ll put in front of me.

We are lucky to have you at DataSafe, Dan! From keeping everything in the records center running smoothly to always going the extra mile for your

fellow employees and clients.

Jessica SawyerWhere are you from?

I grew up in San Mateo and I moved to Pacifica in July 2011.

How long have you worked in your department at DataSafe? When I was first hired in April 2010, I started in Client

Services. In July 2015, I was promoted to Administrative Coordinator. In January 2018, I was promoted to Client Services Account Manager. In July 2018 I was promoted to Lead Client Services Account Manager.

Favorite part of working at DataSafe? You can tell that the philosophy of, “happy

employees=happy clients”, is taken seriously here. The DataSafe work culture encourages ideas & fun amid the serious task of security.

We all bring our energy towards making each process better every day. I also feel lucky to work for a company that supports my professional growth (as you can tell by the multiple positions I have taken on in the past 8 years)

What do you enjoy the most about your role?I’m constantly talking to an incredibly diverse range of

clients. You truly see how unique the range of companies we work with are in the bay area, and yet they all have the same common need- dedicated and detailed attention to securing and archiving their data.

When you’re not being a rock star at DataSafe you enjoy…I enjoy spending time with my family going hiking,

cooking & baking, and as it’s well known, going to Disneyland! #diznerd

Tell us a little about your hobbies or surprising skills? I love trying out new recipes and enjoy crafting projects.

Working out at Orangetheory fitness is another way for me to relax and unwind.

We truly enjoy working with you, Jessica. DataSafe greatly benefits from your attention to detail, focus, and willingness to jump into any kind of project that arises.
