AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Apostles Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the
Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

PDA Response to Flint Water Crisis In January 2016, members of the PDA National Response Team (NRT) visited the Presbytery of Lake
Huron to help with assessments and to discuss ways to respond with Presbyterian leaders and how the
church can be engaged in addressing this crisis in the immediate and the long-term needs. The Presby-
tery is coordinating with local Presbyterian churches in Flint to assist in providing safe water and water
filters to affected communities.
One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) funds have been provided to support efforts,
which include but are not limited to:
• Distribution of emergency water supplies, filters, and filter replacements
• Community education on lead poisoning awareness and treatment
• Identifying and reaching at-risk homes and families
• Working cooperatively with community emergency response efforts and local hospitals to fund the develop-
ment of ongoing community health resources to monitor at-risk individuals.
• Supporting the spiritual care and reconciliation in a community that feels betrayed
• Assisting Presbyterian churches in the affected areas to test for and remediate lead contamination in their
own physical plants
Our Local Mission Committee is assembling CARE PACKAGES for 25 Wayne State students that have aged out of the Foster Care system. Preschool Book Collection for Head Start Children
Presbyterian Women are having a collecon of new and gently used/like new books for Canton Head
Start classes of children ages 3 to 5. In an effort to encourage children to love books at a young age and
encourage others to read to them, we want to give children books to take home at the end of their
semester. Some of their favorite picture books include Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle (author), etc. and we are
emphasizing mul-cultural books since these Head Start classes are mul-cultural.
Our Collecon will be through part of May, but early drop-off is encouraged. Please drop off books in the bin in our
church lower level or at the display by the parking lot doors.
Also, would you like to join us in reading to the children in their classrooms? If so, contact Jean Krause at
[email protected] or 734-416-1760. Thank you for your support!
The Bridge Board Members would like to send our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to FPCP, for your help in making our Palm Sunday Pancake Breakfast a success! Thank you to Val and John McKinley for their very generous food donation, and to the Presbyterian Women for helping make the room look so beautiful. Thank you to ALL the volunteers including the cooks, the kitchen staff, the student servers, the dish washers, the setter-uppers and the cleaner-uppers. Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed a delicious breakfast and wonderful fellowship. Our ministry greatly appreciates your support.
We hope you enjoy your Easter!
