MichaelFirpo-Execu7veDirectorMikeisaFresnoCountynaCveandhasbeenaGolfProfessionalsince1993.MikewasamemberoftheGoldenStateandTexasMini-Toursfrom1993through1995.HewasnamedPingClub-FiJeroftheYearin1997,andin2003ourlocalPGAchapterhonoredhimforhisworkwithjuniorgolf.Since2000,Mikehasbeeninvolvedwithteachingthegameofgolfonafull-Cmebasistopeopleofallages,butwithaspecialtyindevelopingjuniorprogramsandcurriculumsuitedfortheyouthofCentralCalifornia.AsheadcoachoftheBullardHighSchoolBoys’GolfTeamfrom2003-2008,MikeworkedhardtoreturnintegritytohisalmamaterandintheprocesshisteamswonseveralAreaChampionships.
MikewasinstrumentalinbringingTheFirstTeetoFresnobecauseofhisbeliefthatjuniorgolf,anditsinherentvalues,wasnotbeingofferedtoallchildren.MikehasbeeninvolvedwitheveryfacetofTheFirstTeeanditscreaConhereinFresno.
MichaelFirpoMikebelievesgolfpresentstheperfectvehicletoteachcharacter-developmentandlife-enhancingvaluestochildren,becauseeachchildisentrustedwithmonitoringhisorherownscore.HonestyisanintegralpartofthegameandMikebelievesthispresentsanexcepConalopportunitytoteachtheNineCoreValuesofTheFirstTeeprogram:Honesty,Integrity,Sportsmanship,Respect,Confidence,Responsibility,Perseverance,Courtesy,&Judgment.
MikeiscommiJedtothesuccessofTheFirstTeeofFresno,andintroducingthewonderfulgameofgolftothechildrenofthegreaterFresnoarea.
SinceMay31,2008whenTheFirstTeeofFresnohelditsveryfirstclass,theprogramhasgrownfromimpacCng150kidsthatfirstyeartoover25,000kidsimpactedannuallyasof2015.
