Attitude to Learning system

• School is a place where exceptional learning and outstanding progress takes place and having a positive attitude to learning is crucial in becoming a successful student at Hartford Church of England High School.

• We believe that a positive attitude to learning should be displayed in all subjects and homework tasks. Therefore, we operate an Attitude to Learning ‘scoring system’.

• This means that every lesson a student’s attitude to learning is graded 1 to 3. A grade 1 means that a student’s AtL is outstanding. A grade 2 means that AtL is unsatisfactory, while a grade 3, means that a student’s AtL is a cause for concern.

How to support your child

• Ensure your child has excellent attendance. It is so important they are in school.

• Encourage them to take part in clubs. It really helps to make friends

• Ensure they are prepared for learning everyday.

• Check your child's planner on a regular basis
