1995: WHO set out definition of a Health Promoting school. Scottish executive - all schools to become health promoting by

December 2007. 2002: Scottish Health promoting schools unit established to

offer strategic and practical support to schools and local authorities.

2004: Being Well-Doing Well: a framework for health promoting schools in Scotland

2004: HMIe published ‘How good is our school?-The health promoting school’

September 2006: Launch of Grampian Health Promoting schools Accreditation scheme in Aberdeen -all schools in Moray, Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire expected to reach committed stage by end of 2006-07 session

Next 2 priority topics = Tobacco, alcohol. Action plans to be implemented and reviewed over this session.

Maintenance plans in place for food and health, physical activity and mental health. Plans to be constantly reviewed and developed

MHFPP still ongoing. Complete pilot and roll out to ASGs in Moray

Presenting on MHFPP across Scotland – Aberdeen, Stirling, Edinburgh, Inverness.
