While the European populations are shrinking and the best-qualified young people

are leaving, we continue to allow mass immigration of unqualified Muslims, who will

soon make our welfare states collapse. Add to this the fact that the Muslim world has

built up a youth bulge, which according to e!perience will lead to mass murder andwhose effects cannot be offset by foreign aid. "he originator of these bleak

predictions is the #erman sociologist #unnar $einsohn, who believes that the game

    is over for Europe

%&EME'( )f the leaders of the American-led *oalition of the Willing had known

#unnar $einsohn+s research, they would most likely never have left their troops in

)raq or Afghanistan. "hey would quickly give up any thought of intervention in

udan+s arfur province. "hey would tell the alestinian /0-children families that the

West will no longer pay for their unrestricted childbirths. Western opinion-makers

and politicians would also abandon their pet theory that virtually any act of violence

in a belt from 'orthern Africa to the hilippines 1 in addition to miscellaneous acts of

terror all over the world 1 are caused by the unsolved )sraeli-alestinian conflict.

And worst of all seen from the prevailing political consensus in the West( $einsohn

does not believe for a second that economic aid and hunger relief in countries with

large youth populations can prevent wars, social unrest, terror or killings. 2n the

contrary he is convinced that in some cases material aid may start the killings. "his is

because starving people do not fight, they 3ust suffer. $owever, if you give a lot of

young men enough to eat and a certain education in a society where there are too

many young men so that not all can get the recognition and positions that they feel

entitled to, it may lead to violence.

recognition, influence and dignity. 'ot the underweight but rather the potential

losers or the d@class@ are pushing forward p. ;/B.

)n recent years the West has been facing a gigantic youth bulge in large parts of theMuslim world. "his bulge is created by a Muslim population e!plosion. 2ver the

course of 3ust five generations /C00-;000B the population in the Muslim countries

has grown from /D0 million to / ;00 million ? an increase of >00 per cent. As a

comparison the population of *hina has grown from 00 million to / ;00 million 500

per centB. "he population of )ndia has risen from ;D0 million to /000 million 00 per

    centB.

1What is the definition of a youth bulgeF

"here is no commonly accepted definition. "he 8renchman who first used the term

in /CG0 said that a youth bulge e!isted when 50 per cent of the men in a population

were between ;0 to ;. ) changed it to 50 per cent between /D and ;C. "his means

that if you take /00 males from a country, then 50 of them will be between /D and

    ;C.

%ut remember that this 50 per cent group of young men will not pose any danger if

they are hungry or lack education. "o be dangerous they must be in good physical

    and mental shape.

$einsohn emphasises that there are lots of wars and killings in history that do nor

emanate from youth bulges. "he $itler movement and the Mussolini movement in

the /C;0s can be e!plained as youth bulge phenomena. "he early 'a=is and 8ascists

  • 8/9/2019 A Continent of Losers - 2007 Interview with Heinsohn by Danish Magazine Sappho

    4/19

had an average age a bit below 50. "he %olshevik movement in the period around

the /C/G &evolution can be described in the same way. %ut by the time $itler started

WW)), many #erman families were down to only one son. o $itler+s attack in /C5C

was not a youth bulge phenomenon. 'either was the $olocaust. "he killing of theHews was not caused by young #erman men wanting to take their positions, even

though there are theories that make this claim.

'or do the killings organised by the later Mar!ist-Ieninist regimes ? that may have

killed /00 million people ? have anything to do with youth bulges. "he %olshevik

revolution in /C/G was driven by millions and millions of farmers+ sons without land

? that was a youth bulge event. talin+s #ulag, however, does not fall into thiscategory.

1 What about Mao+s killings in *hinaF

Again, in the /C50s Mao+s movement was carried by a youth bulge, but when he

took power in /CC and started his great purges by killing landowners, the youth

    bulge was already gone.

    - o the predominant ideology of the West, namely that we can fight war and

violence by alleviating hunger and creating 3obs in the third world, is wrongF

Every year the five #erman peace research institutes publish a report, and every

year it has the following conclusion( )f we win the struggle against hunger, we have

defeated war. 2n the contrary ?youth bulge research shows that if you are

successful in eliminating immediate material poverty and hunger in a country with a

youth bulge, violence starts to escalate.

)n Europe we have 3ust celebrated the D0th anniversary of the &ome "reaty and in

all the newspapers we could read that this treaty ended war in Europe. "his is

absolutely wrong. )f the #ermans after /CD had reproduced as they did between

/C00 and /C/, then we would have had a #erman nation of almost D00 million

citi=ens, and we would have had about >0 million #erman men between /D and ;C.

  • 8/9/2019 A Continent of Losers - 2007 Interview with Heinsohn by Danish Magazine Sappho

    5/19

)n reality we have G million. And we may well ask ourselves whether these >0 million

would have been as peaceful as the present G million, or would have been

detonating bombs in %reslau or an=ig. "hese former #erman cities 1 now called

    Wroclaw and #dansk 1 were ceded to oland following 'a=i #ermany+s defeat in/CD, ed.B

    Demogra#hi) )a#itulation

"his brings me to something that ) call +emographic *apitulation+. )t has a verysimple definition( "ake all the men aged 0- and compare them to the boys aged

0-. emographic capitulation is when you have /00 males aged 0- compared to

less than >0 boys aged 0-. )n #ermany the numbers are /00JD0, in the #a=a trip

they are /00J4. ) have compared some numbers for you, and these show that

enmark is on the verge of emographic *apitulation. Kour numbers are /00J>0.

$einsohn+s statistical overview shows that if enmark had reproduced at the same

rate as the #a=a trip from ;0 000 to /. million between /CD0 and ;004B, then

we would not have had a population of D.D million compared to .5 million in /CD0B,

but ;D million 1 more than 'ew Lealand and Australia combined. )n that case the

median age of anish males would have been /D in reality it is 5CB, and there would

have been 5.4 million men of battle-ready age /D-;CB, whereas the real number is

only G0 000. Median age must not be confused with average age. A median age of

/D means that there are as many people below /D as there are above /D, ed.B.

Whereas such countries as #ermany and Hapan have capitulated demographically,

other countries are characteri=ed by emographic Armament. Apart from #a=a this

is situation in among others the three Muslim countries Afghanistan /00J05B, )raq

/00J5D/B and omalia /00J54B. )t is no coincidence that they are marked by

widespread and e!treme acts of violence and will be for several more years into the

future. "his also holds true for #a=a and the alestinians in general.

  • 8/9/2019 A Continent of Losers - 2007 Interview with Heinsohn by Danish Magazine Sappho

    6/19

    - o you do not believe that the so-called peace process between )srael and the

    alestinians is realisticF

    Demogra#hi) rearmament , tin! +a.a has a

#o#ulation of /' million with a male median

    age of /1'7 !ears

'o, and the main reason is the big mistake that was made in 2slo in /CC/, when

the secret negotiations between Arafat and Kit=hak &abin started. "he error was that

nobody took any notice of the alestinian population e!plosion. "he alestinian

population has multiplied almost 4 times within the last D0 years. We should have

done two things( )srael should have stopped its settlements, and the world

community should have said to the alestinians( Every child in alestine will be fed

by the world community as before, because by accepting that every alestinian child

is a refugee, the world community has a responsibility for the number of children

born. %ut from Hanuary /st /CC; you will have to pay for your newborn children, 3ust

as a woman does in Iebanon, in "unisia and in Algeria. "hat is what they should

have told the alestinians. Why am ) mentioning these three countriesF %ecause inthose societies a women has fewer than two children on the average. $ad we done

that /D years ago, we would have seen a generation of young alestinian men with

few reasons to commit violence against each other or against the Hews. %ut we did

not, and therefore ) do not believe in the peace process, even if $amas should

decide to sign everything. "heir young men will tear such agreements to pieces.

$einsohn points out that it is the 6A and the E6, and particularly the candinavian

countries, that pay for the enormous alestinian child production. We must ceasethis support, so that the alestinians pay for the children they bring into the world

after a certain point in time.

    - Why cannot the alestinians 3ust work like everybody else and earn their own

    keepF

alestine is a special case. "hey never had any chance of developing because they

have always been on international support.

    overt! and religion

    - 8rom your book one gets the impression that youth bulges create poverty, whereas

we in the West have regarded youth bulges as a result of povertyF

)f a youth bulge changes a state into a failed state, then one will see a breakdown

of the market and of production, and this will lead to poverty. )f we look at current

e!amples of countries with increasing violence ? akistan and %angladesh ? we can

see that both have managed a steady increase in the average income per capita ?

and even a significant growth. "hus we have created the primary conditions for

making the young men both well fed and well educated, which leads to them

becoming unruly. )f these young men successfully destroy the country+s

infrastructure, it will result in poverty. ) have followed this process closely in the

West African state of "he )vory *oast. $ere they have had a system of seven

children for every woman, at the same time as the average income has increased.

When the killings started, the average income fell.

    - $ow do you e!plain the fact that the Muslim Middle East was deeply

underdeveloped before there was any sign of a youth bulge, even before the

Europeans ? who get the blame for most things ? had set foot on its soilF )s it not

necessary to add religion to the e!planationF

Iet us look at the small countries in Europe that were capable of conquering and

colonising large parts of the world from around /D00, starting with ortugal and

pain. 2ur e!planation is usually that there was a pressure on resources because of

overpopulation. "he opposite was the case. When pain started its conquests in

/C5 with *olumbus second e!pedition, pain had a population of si! million, but in

/5D0 it had had nine million inhabitants. pain was not overpopulated. "here was,

however, a sudden a growth in childbirths because in /> ope )nnocent N))) had

decreed that birth control was punishable by death, which caused an immediate

e!plosion in births. )n the middle ages the average number of children per family

was ;-5O now it was suddenly 4-G. "hat caused the median age in the population of

si! million to be /D, whereas the nine-million population of /5D0 had had a median

age between ;> and 50. o there was no lack of land or food. $owever, there was a

sudden scarcity of positions. reviously there had been one or two boys in the

family. 2ne could take over the farm and the other might become a tenant

somewhere else. 'ow you had three sons who had food but no positions, and theseboys started the conquests and the colonising. )t was quite telling that the paniards

called then secundones, the second sons.

3he nolest of motives , from the monument to the

    ortuguese )on4uistadors in Lison

Where does religion enter the pictureF "hese young men ? CD per cent of them ?were normal, good boys and saw it as a sin to kill or mistreat the conquered

populations in the colonies. "hey knew the difference between themselves and

psychopaths or common murderers. o when they went into action, they had religion

to tell them that they were not murderers, but people who would kill the infidels, the

sinners and the un3ust with a clean conscience. eople who e!ecuted orders from a

higher power as they would not want to be seen as disobedient.

8or this reason ) do not call these conquerors and colonisers ? paniards,

Englishmen and anes ? *hristian, but *hristianists. "he same distinction as with a

Muslim and an )slamist. "hese young paniards were not *hristian, but *hristianists,

who needed this ideology to 3ustify their terrible killings.

5ew religions arise in no time

$einsohn is also hesitant to ascribe to )slam a core from which one may deduce later

actions or patterns of action. As an e!ample he mentions the movement of /C4>, to

    which he himself belonged.

When the time is ripe, new religious pamphlets and books will be written on the

spot and in no time. 8rom your holy books ? the

  • 8/9/2019 A Continent of Losers - 2007 Interview with Heinsohn by Danish Magazine Sappho

    9/19

youth bulge is spent, the books that were distributed in millions of copies cannot

even be sold in second-hand bookshops. Everybody knows that they are full of

rubbish. %ut while the movement is on, these young men are impervious to

arguments. o the false ideas do not arise from holy scripture. "hey are generatedby the young men themselves because they need wrong ideas to 3ustify their actions.

*onsequently you cannot stop them by e!plaining that their ideas are wrong. "he

movement is not created by wrong ideas. 2n the contrary, the wrong ideas are

created by the movement. )slam does not create )slamism, young Muslims do.

According to $einsohn+s calculations there will be appro!imately 500 million young

Muslim men in ;0;0, but not all of them will be angry. A growing number of Muslimnations ? Algeria, Iebanon, "unisia, )ran, "urkey and the rich Emirates ? have all

fallen under the demographic replacement limit. )ran now has a fertility rate of /.G.

"hat is the same as in enmark, but less than in 8rance. "hese countries still have a

youth surplus from earlier, but in a few years they will no longer have any youth

bulges that make them pose any danger.

*onsequently he does not believe that the )ranian masses will set the whole region

alight. "his scenario is a pro3ection of the situation immediately before the )slamic

&evolution of /CGC and during the war between )ran and )raq from /C>0 to /C>>,

when )ran could send hundreds of thousands of boys and young men out into the

minefields. "hese teenagers are no longer there.

    A )lass of losers

    - Would it not be a solution to let the superfluous sons come to EuropeF

What happens in Europe is that all the countries ? there are no e!ceptions ? are

ageing nations that do not fully reproduce themselves. "hus they have embarked on

a process where they eat each other+s talents. Why are they not looking for talent in

    Africa, where the population has grown from /00 million in /C00 to an estimated ;

billion in ;0D0F Why not in )slam, where we have a similar population e!plosionF

Why is America looking for talent in #ermany, why is enmark looking for olesF

%ecause the third world countries do not have the educational level that is needed in

the developed countries that can only maintain their position through innovation. 8or

that purpose they need young people who have grown up in a high-tech society. )t is

not because Africans or Muslims are not as intelligent as others, they are 3ust notsocialised in a way that makes them useful in our societies.

    - )n emark we now have a number of highly educated immigrants and their

descendents from Muslim countries ? doctors, lawyers etc. %ut many of them are as

unintegrated as are many of the uneducated. "hey remain as e!tremist and as

)slamicist as if they had not received a higher educationF

6ld #oster )alling for immigration to

Canada , #eo#le )ome here to wor(

) will leave the evaluation of anish conditions to the anes. $owever, we

e!perience the same phenomenon in England. "here we have a population within the

population, namely the akistanis, who have the highest birth rate in the country,

and who are most dependent on social transfers. )n the Western countries we have asocial system that is hardly being used by the local population. 2n the other hand

there is an immigrant population whose women cannot compete in the local

workforce. 8or anish and #erman women the welfare benefits are too low to be

attractive. 'ot so for the immigrants. o what we see in England, 8rance, #ermany

and the 'etherlands are immigrant women who take low-paid 3obs which they

supplement with public benefits. )t is not a fantastic income but sufficient for them.

And this creates a career type for women only, which their daughters carry on.

%ut the sons do not have this option. "hey grow up on the bottom of society

without the intellectual skills needed to improve their social position. )t is these boys

who burn aris, who burn parts of %remen. ome of them make it to university and

become leaders of the others ? not poor, but young men with low status who

believe that they are oppressed because of their )slamic faith, but in reality it is the

welfare state itself that has created this class of losers.

)f, on the other hand, one goes to *anada, where ) have lived part of each year for

the last ;0 years, they have a completely different policy. "hey say( 2ur immigration

policy has a simple base. Every newborn *anadian and every new *anadian who

comes from abroad has to be more intelligent than those who were here before.%ecause only through innovation can we keep our position in world competition.

"herefore ) want my son to be smarter than me. And believe it or not( 2f /00 adult

*anadian immigrants, C> have better professional qualifications than the *anadian

average. )n #ermany and 8rance the corresponding number is /0 per cent. o we

went for quantity, and they went for quality.

And whyF )n #ermany because people were afraid of being called racists, and itlooks like all European nations suffer from the same fear of making choices.

    3he ifth 8illage

    - Might some of it also be e!plained by the leftist parties importing their own votersF

)n 8rance we have seen that Africans and Algerians have voted for @golPne &oyal.

Add to that another phenomenon that we can observe in #ermany among other

places. $ere some of the +ethno-#ermans+, as we are now beginning to call them,

and who make up >D per cent of the #erman population, are starting to emigrate.

Annually about /D0 000 #ermans leave the country, most of them for the Anglo-

a!on world. *anada, Australia and 'ew Lealand are ready to receive /.D million

well-educated immigrants yearly, and they are doing everything to ease the way for

    them.

)t is no wonder that young, hard-working people in 8rance and #ermany choose to

emigrate. )t is not 3ust that they have to support their own ageing population. )f we

    take /00 ;0-year-olds, then the G0 8renchmen and #ermans also have to support 50

immigrants of their own age and their offspring. "his creates de3ection in the local

population, particularly in 8rance, #ermany and the 'etherlands. o they run away.

Europe has 3ust finali=ed its immigration principles in Hanuary ;00G. And they are

quite different from the *anadian ones. 2ur first criterion for letting people into the

E6 is whether they have been victims of discrimination. 'e!t principle( )f the person

already has family in E6, he has privileged access. "hird principle( eople who arealready illegally in Europe should be legali=ed. And finally, only in fourth place do we

have the Anglo-a!on principle that the immigrant should fit into our labour market.

"he purpose is to make Europe look stronger than the Anglo-a!ons when it comes

    to +soft power+.

) am very pessimistic about the future. Europe+s situation reminds me of the

principle that is called +"he 8ifth Nillage+ in %randenburg and Mecklenburg, who havee!perienced population decline. o four villages are being abandoned and the

remaining population is moved to the fifth village. $owever, that does not increase

the birth rate in the fifth village. And after some time the fifth village will also be

populated by old people, and there are no young people in the vicinity to work for

    their pensions.

"he same will happen to the appro!imately 0 nations between %rittany and

Nladivostok. ome of them will become 8ifth Nillages and will have a new lease on

life, others will 3ust implode. ) predict that all the lavic nations will implode. ame

it is not certain that anes, #ermans, 8renchmen etc. will bow to sharia law. Might

the result be that the indigenous populations will withdraw to their own enclaves,

from whwre they will try to defend themselves, as we have seen in %osniaF

million well-qualified immigrants within the ne!t 50-0 years, so well-qualified young

people from Western Europe will have every incentive to go there instead of staying

    and fighting.

A possibility is to aim for *hinese immigration. )f we in #ermany had the same

o ) see few possibilities. $owever, in my book ) cite the e!ample of *alifornia,

which e!perienced a turn-around around /CC0, which meant that even the white

population ? e!cluding the Iatinos, who have a much higher birth rate ? went from

/.5 to /.> children per woman. )t is not full reproduction but a significant changenonetheless. )t was a huge surprise because *alifornia is the world+s most advanced

region. %y the end of the /C>0s the prognosis was that the birth rates would

continue to fall, but in the beginning of the /CC0s new studies found that *alifornian

women were no longer satisfied with 3ust working, and shortly afterwards the birth

    rates went up.

)n Europe it was dismissed with the e!planation that Americans are so conservative, but that is not true in *alifornia, which has in many ways been the pioneer of the

    West. $owever, ) cannot see a similar change in Europe. 2f course 8rance has ;

children per woman, but out of five newborns, two are already Arabic or African. )n

#ermany 5D per cent of all newborns already have a non-#erman background, and

non-#ermans commit C0 per cent of violent crimes. As ) have said ? mothers are

paid to put children into the world and so are their daughters, whereas the men take

    to crime.

2r take the "unisian e!ample. A woman in "unisia has /.G children. )n 8rance she

may have si! because the 8rench government pays her to have them. 2f course, the

money was never intended to benefit "unisian women in particular, but 8rench

women will not touch this money, whereas the "unisian women are only too happy

    to.

    o we need to discriminateF

"hat will not work. )t is too late. "he moment you start discriminating, you will be

dragged into each and every international court in e!istence. "his is what the Anglo-

a!on world has escaped by discriminating at the border. 'ot based on race or

ethnicity but based on qualifications. "hey are discriminating against the unqualified.

Ket they re3ect them with a friendly piece of advice. When a person has been refused

entry in 2ttawa or *anberra, friendly immigration authorities will advise him to go to

#ermany. %ecause they have a different system there.

3he end of the welfare state

    - $ow do you see the political situation in Europe in twenty yearsF 'o welfare state,

    no democracyF

*oncerning the European continent apart from candinavia, )reland and England, )

believe that even the pessimistic population prognoses will turn out to be too

optimistic. "hey assume that the young people will stay in Europe and bring up theirown children, but that will not happen. A study from ;00D showed that D; per cent

of the #ermans between /> and 5; wanted to leave. "hey might not mean it but

they are entertaining the thought. "he really qualified are leaving. "he only truly

loyal towards 8rance and #ermany are those who are living off the welfare system.

%ecause there is no other place in the world that offers to pay for them. America,

*anada and Australia count on receiving our best qualified youths, and they will get

many of them. "hat will put an end to innovation and put a damper on economicgrowth in Europe. )n #ermany we are already forfeiting billions upon billions in

revenue because we lack qualified people to take on the 3obs. We have two million

3obs that we cannot fill 1 and a welfare-dependent population of si! million, and the

two do not meet. "he welfare group grows each year because of new babies, but the

vacant 3ob slots are not filled.

)t is a case of two nations that are closed off to each other. "he welfare state

cannot continue. We cannot hope to cover the demographic holes through

immigration from *hina either, since the *hinese do not want to emigrate into a

welfare system where they will have to pay for an ageing populations pensions in

addition to a welfare population of millions.

We have to say that there is only one category of people who can count on help

from the government and that is the mentally or physically handicapped. 'obody

else should e!pect help. "his sounds cold and cynical but our welfare states were

founded the /Cth century when families had /0 children. When their father fell to his

death from a scaffold, somebody had to look after the family. "his is not the

    situation we are facing today.

)f you go to Australia, you will not be paid to have children. Kou may get a slight ta!

relief. 2n the other hand a citi=en of Australia can keep >0 out of every /00 dollars

    he earns.

$ow could it go so wrong in Europe that had this grandiose vision of peace,

cooperation and progress and unlimited trust in its own abilitiesF

)t started to go wrong around /C>0. %ut the great turn in #ermany came as late as/CC0. "hat was when we opened the gates for a mass immigration of roughly

speaking unqualified people. %etween /CC0 and ;00; #ermany allowed an

immigration of /5 million. At almost the same time it started to go wrong in 8rance.

We can only avert this burden on the welfare state through legislation. We have to

pass a bill to the effect that new children born after a certain date will have to be

paid for by their parents. )t will be a revolution. %ut it is not even being discussed

    here in Europe.

    Clinton>s so)ial reform

%ut let me point out what happened in the 6A. uring the election campaign of

/CC; %ill *linton, in a famous phrase, promised to +end welfare as we know it+. )n

/C5D the 6A had passed the +Aid to ependent *hildren+-act from /C40 known as

+Aid to 8amilies with ependent *hildren+, ed.B, which guaranteed every mother with

small children help from the state. Again it was a question of the father who had

fallen from the scaffold, and very few received support because of this law. $owever,

in /C4D morals had changed. 6ntil then it would have been unthinkable to a mother

? whether she was white or black ? to become pregnant, hide the identity of the

father and then let the public pay for her kids. 'ow she did not even have to push

the father out of a tall building. "his caused an e!plosion of the number of welfare-

dependent American families. 8rom /C4D to /CCD their share rose to /0 per cent of

all American families and /D per cent of the children. "hat was the reality *linton had

    to face.

Most of these welfare dependents were blacks, and that made racists claim that theproblem was in the black genes. %ut the &epublicans and the emocrats worked

together on a new law, +"emporary Assistance for 'eedy 8amilies+, which was a

smart law. )t told American women( We will give you welfare up to five years. Kou

decide whether it should be five years straight, or whether you want to divide the

five years into shorter periods. "he new law was passed in /CC4 and took effect on

Hanuary /, /CCG. )t caused several top officials in the *linton administration to walk

out in protest stating the law was a racist attack on the weakest ? single mothersand their children. "hey had predicted that by /CCG-C>, the number of adversely

affected would have grown from /; to / million. As it turned out, it was these well-

meaning people who were the racists. "he black girls were smart enough to go on

the pill with the result that the welfare-dependent population shrank from /; million

to million. )t was the most successful social reform in history.

)n Europe we have not even begun to discuss such a reform.

    Leave the !outh ulges alone

    - Iately there has been a discussion as to whether we in the West can accomplish

anything in countries like )raq and Afghanistan or with populations such as the

alestinian. Why not let them fight it out among themselvesF

ome American strategists are beginning to question whether the 6A, with its one-

son families, ought send out troops to fight populations with many sons. "hat is the

mistake we have committed in )raq and Afghanistan. )f you have to go in because

you have been attacked, then you must do it, but as soon as the danger has been

defeated, it is necessary to withdraw. )t is up to the )raqis and the Afghans

themselves to ensure that there is a balance between the si=e of the population and

the number of positions society can offer. And as far back in history we look, we can

see that this balance has been maintained by young men killing each other. We have

done it in Europe, and it has happened elsewhere. We cannot allow them to send

their young men over the borders to kill others.
