The customer newsletter from WELCOME to to the January issue of our “Vision On” newsletter. We are delighted to unveil a truly unique product with our IP/SDI web browser keyer, the M-WEBKEY – a software app which runs on our MARBLE-V1 media processor hardware. It’s a cost-effective alternative to a full graphics system and the broadcasters we’ve spoken to are intrigued by the possibilities it offers. In other app news, you can read about the changes we’ve made to our IP gateways and IP/SDI video delays and colour correctors on the back page. Discover where you’ll be able to see all these products in 2020, with us attending more exhibitions than ever before. Finally congratulations to Ariston BTS – winner of our 2019 Distributor of the Year award following a successful year selling Crystal Vision products in Greece. The unique feature of the M-WEBKEY is that it can key a web page on to a video input. The M-WEBKEY includes an internal web browser, with the user able to enter the required URL using the VisionWeb control software or a remote protocol. The M-WEBKEY allows Flow 1 or a matte to be set as the background source, with the foreground source and key signal coming from the URL that is entered. The transparency and location of the graphic is achieved by the key signal which is part of the web page. The M-WEBKEY can be used to access and show any web page, and will typically be used with web pages on internal servers. It is also possible to store an HTML file in the Vision 3 frame if required. Like all our video processing software apps, the M-WEBKEY can be used with IP (ST 2022 or ST 2110 video), with SDI or with both IP and SDI at the same time (thereby providing gateway functionality). It supports 31 SDI standards, including 1080p. So what’s the benefit of being able to key a web page on to a video? With traditional keying, the external fill and key have to be created and output as video which requires expensive character generator hardware which is dedicated to this task and which is often more robust than is needed for the task. Keying a web page means that the key and fill source never become video; the fill source can be created in a web builder application, stored on a web server and be available to all of your keyers via a network using standard browser-based protocol. Broadcasters we’ve spoken to are intrigued by the possibilities that M-WEBKEY offers them. The M-WEBKEY plus a web designer and a web server could provide the graphics for a channel – saving broadcasters money compared to a traditional graphics system, especially for those broadcasters who are continuously lighting up new channels and sub channels and require channel branding for these. Like all the MARBLE-V1 software apps, the M-WEBKEY comes packed with features. These include the ability to fade the key up and down, a framestore synchroniser plus ten frames of video delay to help with system integration and the same signal monitoring found in our IP gateways. Generating considerable interest and with 16 already sold, the M-WEBKEY will be available shortly. If you haven’t previously thought about doing your channel branding or station graphics this way but like the idea, talk to us about how the M-WEBKEY could help. A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WAY OF KEYING NEW from Crystal Vision is the M-WEBKEY web browser keyer. A software app that runs on the MARBLE-V1 media processor, this unique product provides a cost- effective alternative to a full graphics system for both SDI and IP infrastructures. WITH Crystal Vision attending two shows for the first time this year, 2020 brings with it lots of opportunities for you to see our MARBLE-V1 apps which can be used for both your IP and SDI projects, as well as our popular products from the Indigo range – from the Safire 3 chroma keyer to the Cleanit profanity delays. WELCOME to to the January issue of our “Vision On” newsletter. We are delighted to unveil a truly unique product with our IP/SDI web browser keyer, the M-WEBKEY – a software app which runs on our MARBLE-V1 media processor hardware. NEW NAMES FOR COLOUR CORRECTOR AND VIDEO DELAY APPSCRYSTAL VISION has changed the names of its video delay and colour corrector software apps since they were first announced in September – and also introduced an additional video delay to the range. These apps run on the MARBLE-V1 media processor hardware, with their names therefore now starting with M- to identify them.

We are now offering four IP/SDI video delay apps which are designed for matching any 3Gb/s, HD or SD system delays. All four apps can work with IP (ST 2022 and ST 2110 video), with SDI or with both IP and SDI at the same time – giving the easiest possible SDI to IP upgrade as well as being perfect for mixed SDI and IP installations in addition to exclusively IP environments. For multi-channel systems requiring a shorter delay, the triple channel M-VIVID100-3 provides up to 100 frames of video delay per channel (two seconds in 3Gb/s and four seconds in HD and SD). The dual channel M-VIVID200-2 provides up to 200 frames of video delay per channel (four seconds in 3Gb/s and eight seconds in HD and SD). The dual channel M-VIVID400-2 offers up to 400 frames of video delay per channel (eight seconds in 3Gb/s and 16 seconds in HD and SD). Finally, the single channel M-VIVID800 is designed for those big delay requirements and provides up to 800 frames of video delay (16 seconds in 3Gb/s and 32 seconds in HD and SD). All four video delays include a framestore synchroniser and support PTP in addition to analogue references as a timing source.

The M-COCO-2 is our IP/SDI colour corrector and legaliser app. The dual channel M-COCO-2 can work with IP (ST 2022 and ST 2110 video), with SDI or with both IP and SDI at the same time. The M-COCO-2 has all the video adjustments of our Indigo colour corrector CoCo 3G, plus the new Black Stretch and Highlight Stretch features which are particularly useful for correcting in shot picture monitors.

Shipping now, the video delay and colour corrector apps also include the same features found in our IP gateways. Detailed documentation will be coming soon.

HERE ARE some of the orders we’ve received in the last few months...

SDI to IP ST 2022 IP to IP ST 2110 IP to SDI

CRYSTAL VISION has recently changed the names and functionality of its IP gateways, which began shipping last year.

The new names are the M-GWSDIIP-6 (which replaces the SDI6-IP-2022 SDI to IP gateway), the M-GWIPSDI-6 (which replaces the IP-SDI6-2022 IP to SDI gateway) and the M-GWIPIP-6 (which replaces the IP-IP-2022 IP to IP translator). All MARBLE software apps are now going to start with M- to make them easy to identify.

Designed for transporting uncompressed video over 10GbE IP networks, the released gateway apps include all the features previously specified and add more. The biggest change is that these initial apps now work with SMPTE ST 2110 video as well as ST 2022. These gateways are therefore suited to any ST 2022 system and to ST 2110 studio environments when the video

and audio are processed separately. We’ve taken the decision not to work on ST 2110 audio for the moment and instead concentrate on clever video processing, which has resulted in unique products such as the M-WEBKEY profiled overleaf.

Other new features for the gateways include RTP timestamping, improved traffic shaping, additional IP monitoring and more test patterns.

You can see exactly what features are available by visiting the IP gateway pages on our website at www.crystalvision.tv, where you can also download the new IP gateway datasheets. For detailed operational information, the IP gateways manual is now available in the Registered Area on our website – if you don’t already have a password, please e-mail us on [email protected] to request one.

IP GATEWAYS NOW WORK WITH BOTH ST 2022 AND 2110
