A ciclovía for LA
In Bogotá, Colombia, every Sunday from 7AM to 2:30PM is a Ciclovía

Many streets are only pedestrian-and bicycle-accessible.
What is a Ciclovía?
An interconnected network of fixed routes throughout the city, which allows pedestrians and bicyclists to connect to many destinations.
What is a Ciclovía?
The route is permeable to vehicles.
What is a Ciclovía?

LA needs this!A transformative, ongoing event without infrastructure costs!
More impact than a bike lane!
LA needs this!Perhaps most importantly, the ciclovía creates public space that temporarily mitigates the lack of open space in our city.
LA needs this!It also provides public health benefits by encouraging people to use alternative modes, such as walking, cycling and public transit on a regular basis.
LA needs this!Another benefit is a reduction in vehicle-miles-traveled, which means less traffic congestion, less wear on existing infrastructure, and improved air quality.
All of these things improve the quality of life for all Angelenos.
LA needs this!A ciclovía creates new economic opportunities for existing businesses and temporary vendors by increasing foot traffic regularly and enabling new sales in new places.
LA needs this!Neighborhoods and communities benefit from the attention and inclusion in the ciclovía network.
Where is Ciclovía?
What route for LA? What route for LA?A ciclovía route in Los Angeles should educate people about how easy it is to bike, walk or take public transit, as an alternative to driving.
The ideal route should connect diverse and dense neighborhoods with limited access to parks.

ChangeCicLAvia will make our city healthier.
It will create a stronger sense of community, by connecting neighborhoods with temporary park space.
In Bogotá the long-term effects have been a safer city where people can travel with ease and a new vision of public space.
