Always wear good hiking boots or shoes when you hike.

Break your footwear in for a week before your hike.

Take extra socks with you and keep your feet dry.

Start out at a slow, steady pace when you start your hike.

Keep a comfortable, steady pace while you hike.

When you rest, do not sit down. That will make you tired.

After you sit for a long break, start again at a slow pace.
