It's understatement to say thatCorey Kellam, an aviationscience student fromChesapeake, Virginia, is goingplaces. The list of U.S. citiesvisited will surely increasenow that he's earned hiscommercial pilot license.

Back in the fall of 2011, Kellamwas one of two students flyingin the cockpit when thesecond ECSU airplane arrived in time for a Homecomingdisplay. He was on site (Elizabeth City Regional Airport)when the first Cessna Skyhawk arrived in 2010. Over theyears he completed his aviation science courses andcontinued accumulating flight hours as he moved towardthis latest feat-a commercial pilot license. He is the firstaviation science student to reach that goal. Before thismonth, he held a private license, which is a general, aviation license. The commercial license allows pilots totransport people or property for hire so Kellam is eager toshare the friendly skies with passengers.
