→ Passport photo needs to be 2” x 2” in size and on photo paper → Expression should be neutral without big smiles, smirks or grins → Background must be white or off-white without texture → If you wear glasses, keep them on. Flash in lens shouldn’t hiding the eyes

designed to help clients fill out their applications properly. Once completed the applicant will click the green download and the application will be created in an editable PDF format that can should be checked for accuracy, printed out and signed. If you choose not to use the A Briggs China Visa Assistant, you will find a fillable PDF form here. Note that EVERY non-applicable field must be filled with a “N/A”. The Visa Assistant does this automatically. If A Briggs has to replicate your application due to the lack of the required N/A’s, we will assess a $12.50 to correct your application.

→ Section 1 – Personal Information • 1.1 – Surname – Last Name + Given Name (First and Middle) per your passport • 1.2 – Name in Chinese Characters – only if you are of Chinese descent, were born in

China, Hong Kong or Taiwan, regardless of your current citizenship • 1.3 – Other Names – nicknames don’t apply • 1.5 – Date of Birth – note format required YYYY-MM-DD • 1.7 – Former nationalities – national before the citizenship you currently possess • 1.8 – Place of birth – city/state/country • 1.9 – Local ID card – State Issued ID or Driver’s license. Ex: NY DL 123456789 • 1.10 – Passport type – Ordinary • 1.13 – Place of issue – for US citizens – US Dept of State • 1.16 - Education – Other would be used for High School, GED or N/A • 1.17 - List either your employer, school. If unemployed or retired, list N/A on the

remaining fields • 1.23 - Full name of a family member you currently live with OR

If you do not currently live with any family members, list your parents. If parents have passed away, list “deceased” in the occupation field

→ Section 2 – Travel Information • 2.2 – US citizens can apply for multiple entry 12 month visa for the same fee and

processing time as a single entry six month visa. Non-US citizens should can select a single entry three month visa unless additional other travel into China is desired.

Hint: Many of the sections are self-explanatory. The areas that might need explaining are listed below.

Hint: Non-US citizens visas costs increase due to the number of entries and the length of validity of the visa requested, however are less that the fee for US citizens. Single entry, standard processing for non-US citizens are $30 whereas the least expensive visa for a US citizen is $140..

→ Non-US applicants must also fill out a supplemental visa form V.2011B along with the standard V.2013 form. Both forms must be filled out online, printed and signed → Travelers born in China, Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan are required to show previous travel to China by showing an expired China visa in either a current or previous passport.

→ If the visa is in a previous passport, send a photocopy of both the old passport bio-data page (with your photo) and your expired China visa. → If your expired visa is in your current passport, do nothing. → If you don’t have a previous China visa, you must provide a photocopy of your previous Chinese passport bio-data page and US visa or your Chinese birth certificate showing you name in Chinese characters.

→ Minors adopted from China, Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan must include original adoption papers and if applicable include US naturalization papers and US birth certificate.
