family and friends who will be attending graduation on May 17. PARKING: NOTE - STADIUM DRIVE WILL BE CLOSED TO "THROUGH" TRAFFIC. HOWEVER, THE GATE FROM BEL-AIR SUBDIVISION WILL BE "OPEN" FOR GUESTS WANTING TO PARK BEHIND THE HOME BLEACHERS OR BETWEEN SOFTBALL/BASEBALL FIELDS IN ORDER TO SIT ON THE HOME SIDE BLEACHERS. The following 6 parking areas will be available on the DHS campus:                             1. Front of building. 2. East side parking lot. 3. Rear of building. 4. Grass area between baseball/softball fields. The baseball/softball driveways will serve as the entry point to the grass parking area between baseball and softball fields. (Traffic Control personnel will be in place to assist in this area.) 5. Upper Parking Lot/Baseball Parking Lot (paved) near baseball stadium outfield fence. The first 11 spots in this Upper Parking Lot will be RESERVED FOR HANDICAP PARKING, along with many more additional paved parking spaces. (Traffic Control personnel will be in place to assist in this area). 6. Home Side Parking Lots--both paved and grass lots. (In the event of extremely wet conditions, this grass area could be roped off and unusable.) 11 RESERVED HANDICAP PARKING SPACES are available behind the Home bleachers with many other paved spaces in the area.

HANDICAP SEATING: Guests with walkers and wheelchairs have reserved parking and seating areas on BOTH the Home and Visitor sides of the stadium. One advantage of using handicap seating on the VISITOR SIDE is that handicap persons will have access to the track and field after graduation to be with the graduates.

Page 15: › ... › Centricity › Do…  · Web viewDHS ANNOUNCEMENTS for Wednesday, May 15th, 2019 (NEW)SOFTBALL TRYOUTS SCHEDULED (Matthew Shearon, mshearon@dyersburgcityschools.org)

Just exit back out the entrance gate, turn left, and go down the paved driveway to the Players Gate and onto the track. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HOME SIDE BLEACHERS DO NOT ALLOW PERSONS IN WHEELCHAIRS AND WALKERS TO HAVE ACCESS TO THE TRACK AND PLAYING FIELD AFTER GRADUATION.

ENTRANCE GATES: THERE WILL BE ONLY 2 ENTRANCE GATES into stadium seating.1. VISTOR SIDE MAIN GATE: Guests who want to sit on the VISITOR SIDE will use the one and only gate at the rear of that bleacher area. The Visitor Side bleachers, just like the Home Side bleachers, will have a quality "side view" of the ceremony since graduates are seated facing the South end zone. As stated above, the Visitor Side is also recommended for handicapped persons who wish to have the possibility of handicap access to the track and field after graduation. There will be both regular and handicap-accessible restroom facilities on the Visitor Side.

2. HOME SIDE MAIN GATE: ALL GUESTS WANTING TO SIT IN THE HOME SIDE BLEACHERS should plan on entering campus through the BEL-AIR SUBDIVISION GATE on Stadium Drive and park behind the Home side bleachers. Guests who want to sit in the HOME bleachers may also park in Front, Back and East side parking lots but should plan on "walking around" the South end of the stadium on Stadium Dr. to the Home gate. Guests WILL NOT be allowed to enter the Visitor Gate and walk around either of the "end zone" areas to get to the HOME side. Note: The Home Side bleachers WILL accommodate wheelchairs and walkers and there WILL be a designated and reserved area for handicap

seating in the HOME SIDE bleachers, BUT THERE WILL NOT BE HANDICAP ACCESS TO THE "FOOTBALL FIELD" AFTER GRADUATION FROM THE HOME SIDE BLEACHERS. There WILL be both regular and handicap-accessible restroom facilities for people on the HOME SIDE.

Note: At the conclusion of the program, family and guests on both the Home and Visitor sides are invited to come down and be with the graduates on the field. No family/guests will be allowed on the track or football field until AFTER the program has concluded.

Note: Due to the construction design of the new Home Side bleachers, family and guests on Home Side who wish to come down to the field after the ceremony MUST EXIT THE BLEACHERS FROM THE FRONT-RIGHT AND FRONT-LEFT STAIRS ONLY. Exiting to the rear of the Home bleachers leads only to the parking lot!

INDOOR GRADUATION – GYM – 2019 - PARKING, SEATING, ENTRANCE, HANDICAP PARKING, ETC.: The same 6 parking areas for Outdoor Graduation are also available for INDOOR GRADUATION. HANDICAP PARKING: In the event of INDOOR graduation, we will reserve the LOWER PARKING LOT (immediately behind the gym) for Handicap Parking.
