... UNTIL WE’VE HELPED THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY

one step at a time...It has been an honor and a pleasure to help tens of thousands of our Credit Union members and people in the local community as they work toward fulfilling their financial dreams. We vow to continue our efforts and hope our members will continue to let family, friends and coworkers know about the better banking option in town.

one person at a time... Many people still are unaware of what a credit union is. And for those who do, a large number of them believe that only people who work for certain companies are able to open an account – and that is simply not true. There are many ways a person or business can be eligible to become part of the SCE FCU family – and a phone call is all it takes to find out how.

We offer the products and services found at most traditional banks, but here at the Credit Union you have the control. Every person who opens an account at the Credit Union is an equal owner of the Credit Union – whether you have $5 or $5 million dollars on deposit. And as an owner, you directly experience the rewards, such as great rates, added convenience, and service that is designed to wow you.

At SCE Federal Credit Union, we are passionate about serving our members and the community, one person at a time...

... UNTIL WE’VE HELPED THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY

Since our inception in 1952, our primary goal has been to serve the financial needs of members. In doing so we fulfill our ultimate purpose, which all credit unions strive to achieve and for which we were ultimately established – people helping people.

In 2014 we achieved a great balance of preserving that purpose while preparing the Credit Union for the opportunities that lie ahead. As we continued to meet members’ needs with new services and community support, numerous processes and strategies were implemented to be well positioned for 2015. Still we remained focused on our daily goal: helping communities, one person at a time, one step at time.

Financially, it was another very good year for SCE FCU and its member/owners, as you will see in the financial section of this report, including loan growth that well exceeded budget. In addition, the Credit Union introduced several significant products and services to enhance the banking

experience for our members, including conveniences such as coin machines at several branches and the addition of weekend hours so that banking on Saturdays is now available at most SCE FCU branches.

An exciting milestone for SCE FCU occurred in April when the Credit Union obtained a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) designation. This financial designation by the US Treasury certifies that SCE FCU has demonstrated a commitment to serve members who have moderate to low incomes and live in distressed areas. We are especially proud of this achievement, as it is recognition of our efforts in our local communities and allows us access to CDFI-only grants. With additional financial assistance, we seek to expand our products and services, enabling us to help even more of the people who need help the most – in fulfillment of our legal and philosophical mandate to help people, who need the help the most.

IN THE COMMUNITY

A commitment to the financial empowerment of the underserved in our communities remains a driving force within SCE FCU’s mission. Our nonprofit partner, the Center for Financial Empowerment, plays a key role in serving our communities with life-enhancing financial education for youth and families of modest means.

The Center celebrated the following accomplishments in 2014:

• Facilitated 81 financial literacy workshops, serving nearly 3,000 high school students and community residents with actionable financial education

• Prepared 430 teen participants for real-life finances through four Mad City Money reality simulations

• Awarded $16,000 in scholarships, helping 18 hard-working students pay for college expenses

• Secured $10,000 in grant funds from the Corporation for Enterprise Development (CFED) and the MetLife Foundation to enhance the Mad City Money learning experience with the integration of new technology

SCE FCU and the Center for Financial Empowerment have a shared vision to provide a positive financial head start for thousands of young adults through financial education, tools and designed-to-thrive financial services. It’s a big goal that can positively impact entire families and their communities!

We invite our members to join us in strengthening the future economy by investing in the financial education of our youth. Visit Center4FE.org to find out more.

REPORT of the SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE

The Supervisory Committee, a group of volunteers appointed by the Board of Directors, is primarily responsible for overseeing the overall safety and soundness of the Credit Union.

The committee meets every other month with the Credit Union’s internal audit team to monitor adherence to operating practices and procedures. In addition, the committee contracted with the independent accounting firm of BDO USA to audit the Credit Union’s records for the twelve months ending March 31, 2014. Once again, we are pleased to report the assets held by SCE FCU are safe and secure and no significant findings were reported.

Furthermore, our review concludes that SCE FCU is in compliance with federal regulations and standards provided by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

The Supervisory Committee congratulates the SCE FCU volunteers, managers and members on another successful year.

2014 was a financially successful year for SCE FCU. As a cooperative, we re committed to fulfilling the philosophical credit union mandate of helping people, including those of lesser means who have traditionally been underserved and excluded from accessing mainstream financial products and services in the greater Los Angeles and Las Vegas areas. Through a combination of affordable financial services and comprehensive financial education, we aim to help our members build assets and enjoy financial stability.

Here are some of the SCE FCU financial highlights of 2014:

• Ended the year with assets of $607.8 million • Had a net income of $4.2 million • Totaled $100.1 million in funded loans • Funded $12.6 million in Member Business Loans (MBL), meeting the

goal of an increase in the MBL portfolio by $6 million • Ended the year with shares of $518.6 million

Our federal regulators, the National Credit Union Administration, define a well-capitalized credit union as having at least 7% of its assets in reserve. SCE FCU finished the year at a very healthy 9.8%. Overall your Credit Union is financially strong and able to meet the financial needs of our member owners for the foreseeable future.

... UNTIL WE’VE HELPED THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY

one person at a time...Many people still are unaware of what a credit union is.

At SCE Federal Credit Union, we are passionate about serving our members and the community, one person at a time...

one step at a time... It has been an honor and a pleasure to help tens of thousands of our Credit Union members and people in the local community as they work toward fulfilling their financial dreams. We vow to continue our efforts and hope our members will continue to let family, friends and coworkers know about the better banking option in town.

... UNTIL WE’VE HELPED THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY
