I was also pleased that I was able to deliver my message to the parents and will include that message on our website. Open Day We will be holding an Open Day later in the term on 24 th March 2015 and there will also be a Parent Teacher Student Conferences at the beginning of Term Two (April 2829). By then we will have our students’ data from our March testing and this will help us to work on ‘next step learning’ for each child. Teachers Only Day We would like to thank you all for keeping your children home on our Teachers Only Day on Friday 27 th February. We had a very intensive day of learning with Jill Eggleton, who is a real reading guru, and who gave us a huge amount of resources and thinking about how we can make our reading programmes support your children’s learning more effectively. Once again we appreciate your support and cooperation for that day. OMG Tech Rangers Last Saturday some children were chosen to attend the OMG Tech Rangers Event hosted at our school. This was an amazing event and we hope to be more involved with this organisation in the future. We would certainly like to thank the volunteers from OMG and some of our parents for giving up their Saturday and for sponsoring MEP students to go to this event. Our children learnt about robotics, how to use 3D printers and how to pull apart machines (DVD drivers etc.) to ]ind out how they work and various physical science activities. Parent Teacher Interaction I require the teachers at our school to teach all day. To ensure teachers are not interrupted the large gate entrance will be unlocked at 2.50 pm to allow parents to come in. However once you are in the school ground please do not interrupt the class and talk to the teacher or children during this time of teaching. Please avoid coming through the of]ice area at this time as well. If you do want to discuss anything with the teacher please do so once the children have been dismissed for the day at 3.00 pm. “By the time students leave us in Year 6 we want them to be confident, inquisitive, articulate problem solvers, who can use a varity of communication tools to make sense of their world”
